I don't think any extensions should be possible until free agency. Basically every player IRL who wants an extension has got one, the rest are all waiting for this summer to see their options. I also don't think players who re-sign with their current teams (or sign for another team) should be tradeable.

E.g. Dwayne Wade waits until free agency, decides Miami is the best option, and signs an extension. Miami cannot then trade him. Likewise, if Wade jumps ship (say to Chicago), it would almost definitely come with guarantees its to play in Chicago, therefore Chicago should not then be able to trade him...

But theres certain situations where players would resign now....

just to name a few.

Amare would most likely resign in OKC. The temptation to sign a max deal while playing with Meer, Durant and Jefferson for a long time in his career is obviously do-able. The defense isnt there, but thats alot of young good players, which fit Amare's style of play.

Bosh would most likely also resign. Biggest stage in basketball while playing with Kobe and Phil. Bogut is also one of the most excellent fits at center with Bosh. Also Kirk and Deng would be the perfect role players for Bosh/Kobe duo. The lakers of all teams do have the money to spend on a Max deal for a big name like Bosh.

David Lee would also most likely resign in SA. The chance to play along side Duncan until he retires, and to play with Ellis for a long part of his career. Especially since SA would offer him a very nice deal, obviously not a max deal, but a very nice deal.

Just saying. Also Boozer, would resign in RL.....

just my 2 cents.

EDIT: Also, everyone who has cap space is gonna say "dont sign extensions" and everyone who has Wade/Bron/Bosh/JJ/Amare/Rondo/Boozer/Lee/Dirk ect. is gonna say "they should/would sign extensions". So this is gonna be pointless. It should be the commish's job to decide. *OR* bring in other ppl like Gremz/Zong/DGrangeRx33/sterncohon/Skorf......others.... to be the voice of the players signing or extending...no homo....haha. just another thought.

Amar'e re-signing in OKC - really? I think OKC has a lot to prove as a franchise and that lineup would give up as much as it scores. It's not the most desirable place to be - he'd definitely consider his options if he got a max deal offered elsewhere.

Bosh - yeah I'd agree with that, I would say there's about a 5% chance of Bosh leaving LA.

David Lee - yeah he'd re-sign in SA, but they don't have rights to extend him do they? It'd probably need to be a $10m+ deal too.

Boozer - not a chance. He's expressed loads of times he wants to move closer to Florida. Houston is closer but still not close enough.

P.S. I have no capspace, so it doesn't matter to me where these guys end up...

So yeah, it's all subjective

Boozer would be all a bout the money.

Anyways, looking for an upgrade at SG/SF, someone of good 3 point shooting ability in the Rashard/Ginobili type role, or a 2010 1st, any of the following available:

PF - Tyrus Thomas
SF - Richard Jefferson
SF - Grant Hill
SG - Shannon Brown
PG - Mike James (expirer)
2012 Indiana Top 12 Protected 1st Round Pick

While I'm still looking to move Michael Redd and Mike Dunleavy Jr., I'm willing to move my expiring contracts (Quentin Richardson and James Jones) for contracts that expire in 2011 if you add some incentive for me.

Agreed

FWIW though I don't care one way or the other. If I have to choose... no extensions but S&Ts allowed.

If anyone wants Richard Jefferson for expirers please mail me ASAP, needed as part of a 3-way deal.

You'd have to offer $12m in expirers...

Got to love all the bogus BS going on in the chat room.

Does anyone know if there is a chat room we can create that won't let in multiples from the same comp and requires a proper sign in?

If so we can set that up and email the link to GMs in the game.

Well the answer to that is for everybody to get an AIM.

Just sign up for an account even if you're not gonna use it(e-mail wise), then just go here and sign in.

Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter, Hedo Turkoglu, can all be had for expiring contracts.

Listening to offers for Okafor as well.

I may be willing to forgo my caproom for longer contracts and assets, but it will take a solid offer.

At any rate Thabeet is one the block and can be combined with another starter depending on the offer. I value Thabeet quite highly.

As I said before, due to all of the impostors and general unproductivity of of the tinychat room, I will be refraining from being there for the remainder of the game.

If you are interested in dealing with Memphis, please act via EMAIL or AIM, both publicly available in this thread's OP and the roster thread OP.

Looking for general depth and an upgrade in interior defense. Granger is essentially untouchable and Mayo is unlikely to be moved as well, though I'll listen to offers concerning everyone.

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of no extensions. I wanted it last game as commish and would like to see how it works out.

RIP tinychat.com/realgmgame. You were alright for the time you were used, and then became annoying, then alright again, then really bad. You will only be missed a little, only by some.
