Julian Wright (2.00)

Why for POR? We need a stopgap C for this season and Z was a great option for us. We'll hang on to his rights and hopefully sign him as a backup for Greg next year. Ratliff can also give us a few minutes, further alleviating the loss of Oden. We felt it was fair value on both ends to give up a couple of expirings, a young guy, and a future 2nd for Z as it fits with the direction of both of our teams.

Orlando will send
Jameer Nelson - 8,100,000
Jason Williams - 825,947

for
Delonte West - 4,254,250
Brandon Rush - 1,934,160
JJ Hickson - 1,429,200
7617610 x 1.25 = 9522012.5 > 8,925,497
Deal Works
With Paul as our starter now, we really didn't have space for Jameer. With that in mind, we're glad to be able to send him to his hometown in Philly. West, Rush and Hickson fill out our roster nicely and should be able to contribute immediately.

We needed a vet PG and this will allow us to move Barbosa to the bench as a scoring 6th man.

This will be coming out of our $4,268,904 TPE

S.Ibaka ($1,120,200) and C.Hayes ($2,147,750)
Miami does this simply to add size. We are sad to see Chalmers go (and his cheap cap number) but need to get bigger and this trade does that for us. We do add some extra 2010 money which we didn't want to do but still have enough available.

Confirmed pending approval of my other billion trades. We add more size at PG which we felt we needed with Gordon at SG, and we get a defensive upgrade. Harris is also two years younger than Nelson and though he is having a down year..look at his team. We take a big risk trading our 1st unprotected but we add two guys in Delfino and Kristic who we feel can be moved for expiring and a pick perhaps, leaving us with enough caproom for two max free agents without sacrificing any core pieces.
edit - Confirmed on the added parts, we like DJ White more then most and will move Najera at some point.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
LA and OKC have reached an agreement pending approval of the 4 team mega deal...
Amare for Bogut/Finley/2011 Minny 2nd
$11,000,000 + $2,500,000 = $13,500,000 x 1.25 +100,000 = $16,975,000 > $16,378,325
LA loses out on talent but gets a better fit next to Bosh in the front court. We also save some future money in the process. Sad to split up our all stars but had to be done unfortunately.

Accepted but might need to be reworked because of Finley...Love to get another superstar next to KD, though my defense will be pretty weak im certain i can fix that up later, but my lineup now consists of Nelson, Ginobili, Durant, Stoudemire, Jefferson

OKC accepts because i like what im getting and don't feel im giving more than i should so im fine with the trade. Also i hope Manu can be a veteran presence on this team.
Accepted. We hate to have to give up Mike Miller, but the influx of young talent was too much to pass up.

Knicks Accept.
Logic:
We give up two aging 2Gs for a young 2G (w/ an expiring contrac) and a 1st rounder.

Pistons and Hornets agree on trade
Pistons give: Randy Foye (3.5 million) + Michael Petrius (5.3)
Hornets give: Trevor Ariza (5.8) + Deveon George (1.6) + Josh Powell (.9)
Hornets accept. We acomplish 2 goals in 1 trade. I wanted a good perimeter defender at the 3 who could shoot the 3 and a playmaking 2. I kill 2 birds in one stone

Pistons accept. We upgrade our 3 spot majorly whilst clearing some of the glut on the wing by moving the underperforming Foye and inconsistent Pietrus. We pick up 2 expirings in the deal as well.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
PHI cuts Royal Ivey, Coby Karl before this deal. PHI and MEM have a trade to annouce (I had to fill my one trade per day quota).
Devin Harris - $8,400,000
Nenad Kristic - $5,160,832
For
Hasheem Thabeet...$4,458,840
Mike Conley..........$3,883,800
James Johnson.....$1,594,080
Darrel Arthur........$1,050,480
It works.
We give up more established players for younger ones with more upside, we also cut salary in this deal. We like the tough perimeter defense that Conley gives and he is only 22, and Thabeet is a guy we like more than most, he was the 2nd overall pick in the last draft for a reason.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
Memphis accepts.
Harris is having a rough year, but he's still a great talent on a reasonable deal and we feel with the types of players we've got surrounding him he can be a great fit with us and bounce back to be as good as ever. We wish Thabeet the best of luck. We believe he can be a really strong center in this league, but we're looking to stay young while building a team that can make a push right now. Kristic is an established center who gives us a great inside/outside combo with Randolph.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
Portland Trades:
Aldridge 5.84/11.81 (ppp average)
Webster 4.34
Alexander 2.58
Magloire .85
2010 1st Round Pick
2011 2nd Round Pick
13.61/19.58
13.61*1.25=17.01
17.01+.1=17.11
17.11>16.38
OKC Trades:
Stoudemire 16.38
16.38*1.25=20.48
20.48+.1=20.58
20.58>19.58
Deal works with a bit of cushion on incoming/outgoing when taking Aldridge's PPP into account.
Why for Portland:
We're taking a risk by bringing Amar'e on board, but we're confident that he'll want to stay around after being reunited with Steve Nash and joining Brandon Roy on young team with an elite PG.
It hurts to lose Aldridge, a superior defender and shooter, but Amar'e is an older player who we believe will fit better with Nash's prime. They have obvious chemistry and proven success, but have never been teamed with a player of Roy's caliber before.
We're also excited for Oden's return either at the end of this year or beginning of next year and feel that Amar'e will take a big inside scoring load off of his shoulders, allowing Oden to focus on what he does best, defense and rebounding. Oden adds yet more incentive for Amar'e to stay due to his ability to take the opponent's best big man.
We were really high on Webster as a fantastic young G/F, especially after locking down both Durant and Bryant this year, but we feel that Batum and LRMAM will be plenty at SF and Roy is our SG. Our depth takes a hit, but there is still time to find some G's.

This trade is of course pending the Amare deal.
OKC accepts because i felt that Amare might leave, and didn't want to leave it to chance, so i went after one of the good young PF's available that can also spread the floor.

OKC accepts because i like what im getting and don't feel im giving more than i should so im fine with the trade. Also i hope Manu can be a veteran presence on this team.
Accepted. We hate to have to give up Mike Miller, but the influx of young talent was too much to pass up.

Leandro Barbosa/Earl Watson for Kirk Hinrich
LB/EW = $6,600,000 + $2,800,000 = $9,200,000
KH = $9,500,000
deal obviously works

LA accepts
