Honesly...I'd reeeeally prefer to start AFTER the playoffs. But I'll rock with the majority vote.

babyjax13 wrote:I hate the Draftexpress idea. Just have every team send a list of five or so players for each of their picks on a Thursday and post the results that Sunday. It's quick and teams won't be pissed when they get stuck with Daniel Orton in the lottery. I'm willing to help with (or entirely do) this process if necessary.
EDIT - Here is my suggestion
Start Trading on Thursday (13th) with 2010-11 salaries (in case anyone wants to trade picks).
On the 20th (the next Thursday) send in lists for draft and stop trading until that Sunday (23rd).
On the 23rd resume trading until the 30th of the next month, then end trading and do write-ups/voting. I would prefer that we not do a 2011 draft because most fans don't know much about that draft class, just look at the draft picks as positive assets when grading.
EDIT 2 - the timeline might need to be moved back a week, but we would end just after the draft and be ready to start a new game with each team's rookies.
Ok with this. If I may add, if there are no listing sent to MJ, MJ will select in behalf of the team based on BPA per draftexpress mockdraft.

I say start ASAP.
What do we do about unfilled teams though?

I think one week time is just about right to fill all teams with GMs

FYI, for those who didn't know, I am rebuilding the lakers so everyone is available. That means everyone! Kobe and Gasol will be moved (please don't offer me expirings for these 2 AS players).
But everyone will be available. I plan on going YOUNG but with youth that can play, not potential players, proven players. If you want an AS you most likely gotta give an AS or close to AS. If you want KOBe you got to give me a guy that will replace him as the FRANCHISE player
offer away, this will be fun

I reckon we should start trading ASAP and be able to trade this years picks... this years picks should be the same as the real lotto.. so If you have the Pacers or something and they get lucky...you get lucky! also that means we could trade this years expirings and not have them on our payroll for the new season!

Re: GM 2010-2011 Rules & Discussion
I might deal Dwight soon. I have a standing offer that nets me a young big and a superstar. That's my price on him. I could add pieces.
And if that Dwight trade goes through, Im looking to trade VC for a SF.
Offer up. Everyone pretty much on the block.

Portland in the market for a young point guard.
Camby / Pendegraph / Webster / Cunningham / Fernandez / Miller / Bayless / Mills could all potentially be available in the right deal.

Puzzled. We don't yet know which year's salary structure we're starting with or how to handle the draft - and people are making trades? How about we wait until we have a clear set of rules, and an owner for every team?

Re: GM 2010-2011 Rules & Discussion
Stern - we're starting with 10/11 salaries. Timescales are discussed in the other topic. Just advertising and going to run 1 weeks worth of trading before the draft, which is manual picks. If we get enough teams tonight, trading starts tomorrow. If not, it's delayed by one week.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

I am assuming that MJ will figure out what he wants to do with free agency after the draft.

Re: GM 2010-2011 Rules & Discussion
Right guys, assuming the Dwight Howard trade gets approved, I'm looking to strengthen my point guard and shooting guard positions, and adding 3 point shooters.
Roster as it stands will be:
C - Dwight / Camby
PF - Aldridge / Bass / Pendegraph
SF - Batum / Cunningham
SG - Webster / Pietrus
PG - Miller / Bayless / Mills
In my search for a PG/SG upgrade, I'll package any of Camby / Bass / Pendegraph / Webster / Pietrus / Miller / Bayless / Mills; #22, Rights to Petteri Koponen, Rights to Victor Claver.
I am also interested in any PF's that may become available, although this is less of a priority. I'll add Aldridge into the mix, along with any of the above, to upgrade.
Send any offers to lukekarts @ gmail.com; whether it fits with the above or not I'll always listen.
