That might be true to an extent, though I'm still inclined to believe that the top tier ABA teams this year (the only ones anyone picked) would be very strong NBA teams.

I'm pretty surprised nobody is giving the Spurs a whirl.

That looked like an interesting group. If anyone else wants to sign up they are welcome to as we wait for Pen to give the final word.

Pen, if we're preparing for the draft, I'd like to make my lists. It won't be a terribly different philosophy for either team, but we should probably get our two teams straight.

Let's set a deadline of midnight Tuesday night for signups. Hopefully by that time TMac will sign in and Cellar will decide if he wants Kentucky or Milwaukee.

 "Cellar will decide". I wish Kentucky had a similar pick to Milwaukee. That would make this a lot easier.

Alright, I used the coinflip application on my phone to pick a team. It came up heads, which I designated to be Milwaukee, so I'll take them.

Are we gonna have a list of draftable players or how will we do this draft?

I imagine we'll be individually responsible for compiling our own lists by looking at the teams that weren't selected. With only eight teams drafting, just 32 players will be selected in the draft. My list has just under 40 players on it as of now.

Can we get the draft started today? We should be able to cruise right through.

I personally think the first pick is obvious, but I suppose Turkish Thunder could disagree.

Let's start the draft Tuesday night at midnight EST but please don't post before that unless you are taking the Virginia Squires, we still might get another player or two . . . on the clock from 8A to 12M in 4 hour intervals from the previous pick . . . hopefully we can roll it forward fairly quickly.

I take it to mean midnight tomorrow... when it will officially be "Tuesday"

I'm of the opinion that it's unlikely that anyone who hasn't joined yet will be psyched on a '75 draft, but who knows. I'd prefer to start ASAP.

Assuming from the lack of rules suggestions that no one wants a trading period? I'm good with it if you do . . .

A trading period would be fun, but there is also the potential for trades that mess up the game. I would ask for a 2/3rds majority to approve any trade if we had a trading period.
