Trade # 39

Magic gets:
Corey Maggette($ 2,069,764)

Clippers gets:
Clifford Robinson($8,421,875)
03 1st (top 10 protected)

I have cap space to absorb that exp contract, I think the real 03 Magic with all their players injured made the playoff so maggette-Peak T-mac duo will make the playoffs and wont be a top 10 pick
Accepted. We add young wing to pair with Mac

Trade Approved.

Trade 40
CLIPPER AND GIRZZLIES FINALLY COME TO TERMS

In a two trade - trifecta the Los Angeles Clippers sent PF Lamar Odom to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for your SF/SG Mike Dunleavy Jr and a 2003 1st round pick to be determined (the best of GSW/CHI (top 5 protected) or SAC or HOU. The pick will be moved once the draft order is set.

The Clippers - who have a payroll of $ 38,179,581 going into this trade send Odoms $ 3,557,585 payroll out in exchange for Dunleavy's $3,100,080 and reduce their cap by $457,505. The Grizzlies are at $53M+ but the trade works under the 125% collective bargaining agreement.

The Grizzlies accepted this deal and said that they felt Shane Battier would be their main SF over the next 5 years and the skills that 6'10" Lamar Odom would bring could attract Hollywood Starlets making the Clippers a good draw against the Lakers. The Griz have made their Front line much better in this deal. Nice working with the Clippers.

Trade #41

CLIPPERS COMPLETE MOVES FOR FUTURE OF FRANCHISE

The Los Angeles Clippers have acquired PG Mike Bibby and SG/SF Wally Szczrbiak from the Sacrmento Kings in exchange for Gilbert Arenas and Rashard Lewis. The deal included the swap of the Clippers 2nd round pick in 2003 for the unprotected WA Wizzards first round pick ('03).

The clippers take on Bibby ($8.5M) and Szczrbiak (2,933,187) ($11,433,187). However, since they entered the Transaction at $37.7M they can absord this additional Premium They Clips sent $6.233M in Lewis' deal and $512,435 for Arenas, so the Kings realize a savings of $4,687,076 and the Salaries work.

KIngs GM confirmed this deal stating that there was a tremendous talent going both ways in the trade. We did get a little younger and believe Arenas added athleticism will thrive with this supporting cast. In addition, Rashard can move from the SF to PF and bring the team added versitility. As to the picks, the GM stated it's always a crap shoot. We think there will be value in the top of the second round and commiting to two potential lotto picks is a ton of salary for a roster we believe will already contend for years. This was tough due to the quality of the guys going both ways, but we feel great about the deal and wish the clippers well. Nice dealing!

POR accepts. Olowokandi is actually a big part of my team, and it's hard to lose a young C like him. However, Finley is a great wing. 19/6/4 this year, and <10/3/3 for many years after. He also leads the league in TOV% for the next 2 years, which is a good fit with Carter and JO. Just an overall good, defensive, efficient wing that I love to have on my team.

SEA accepts. We hadn't really received any great offers for Allen before this. Nash is a beast, and a great place to start a franchise. We do give up a top 5 wing, and in this league, wings are valuable, but we couldn't pass at the chance to get a future MVP and upgrade at C. Great dealin with you, DAL.

:Trade #45

PORTLAND - MEMPHIS - SEATTLE DEAL ANNOUNCED

The Memphis Grizzlies have sent PG Sam Cassell, Center Erick Dampier and SF Penny Hardaway to the Portland Trailblazers in exchange for Antonio Davis and SG/SF Jalen Rose. In a realated move, Memphis then sent Mike Miller to the Seattle Super Sonics for PG Andre Miller.

The Grizzlies felt that Millers ability to facilitate and push the offense would blend better with their roster than Cassell, though they recognize that they were sacrificing one of the best scoring PGs in the league. The real chip in this deal was the chance to pick up Jalen Rose, an elite Scoring guard who would offset Cassell's numbers, provide lock down wing defense with Shane Battier and bring leadership to this young team. The Davis / Dampier move was lateral and the Grizzlies were happy to accpet this deal.

MEM In: A Miller $2,460,709; Jalen Rose $12,072,500 & Antonio Davis $12,000,000 = $26,532,709MEM Out: M Miller $2,668,080; Sam Cassell $4,850,000; Erick Dampier $6,858,500;
Penny Hardaway $12,375,000 Total Out: $26,751,789
PDX In: M Miller $2,668,080
PDX Out: A Miller $2,460,709
SEA In: Cassell $4,850,000; Dampier $6,858,500; Hardaway $12,375,000 = $24,083,500
SEA Out: Rose $12,072,500; Antonio Davis $12,000,000 = $24,375,000

SEA accepts. With Nash heading into town, we didn't need Andre. Mike Miller is coming off a ROY in his rookie season, and is a great shooter, rebounder and defender that is a good bridge between Artest and Nash on the wing. We like the core of Nash/Miller/Artest/Evans/Rad/Barry and hopefully a decent post presence in the draft like Kaman, West or Bosh.

POR accepts. With the addition of Finley, Rose was not needed. We are THRILLED to reacquire Cassell, he is 20/6/4 this year, and All-NBA 2nd Team next year. Dampier is 12/12 next year, and a solid 9/9 in years after. We like Penny as a 6th man to backup the 1-3 positions, and Davis wasn't needed because we just got Laettner and Brown. Good dealing, Blazer50

Charles Oakley $1,030,000

$9,431,042 * 1.25 +100k = $11,888,802.

$11,888,802 > $11,726,778. Close, but money works.

We do this to get experienced guy, who's capabale of having double-doubles. While he maybe is a bit overpaid, we are glad, that we gave away players, that are not the main guys and get a solid role player.

New Jersey Trade:

Miami Trade:

Why for NJ? We're not gonna have enough cap space so adding a long term salary in Eddie Jones isn't an issue - I am hoping he remains productive for a couple of seasons, he's a great shooter and good defender, fitting with my roster really well.

51st Trade:

Between Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies:

Memphis sends:

Brevin Knight $5,000,000

Toronto sends:

Jerome Williams $5,250,000

5m * 1.25 + 100k = $6,350,000 it is more than 5,250,000, that's why this deal works.

We do this to shed some salary both short term and long term, + we get a player where we need.

Memphis accepts this deal as Jerome Williams brings added toughness to their front court and can play both the SF & PF. He has been a defensive presence & provides 9.7 ppg and over 9 boards in limited minutes which will be needed by the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are happy to accept this deal. Nice dealing with the Raps - win win in terms of team needs

SACRAMENTO / GOLDEN STATE COME TO TERMS

The Sacramento Kings announced that they have resigned PG Mike Bibby in a move that sends SF Rashard Lewis and PG Troy Hudson to the Golden State Warriors. In addition, the Warriors have sent their First Round Draft picks in 2003. That includes the rights to their own (GSW) or CHIs pick (whichever does not go to Memphis) and they will move the SACs 2003 1st rounder back to the Kings.

Sacramento reported that they did not what to move Bibby in an earlier deal and when the opportunity came available to resign their leader, teh Kings did not hesitate. It did require finding a quality PG to move to the Warriors which they did in Hudson. In addition, Rashard Lewis was a high price, but the King's hope to offset his loss in the deep 2003 draft.

The Warriors accept. I hate giving up the picks but Lewis is an awesome Sf who presents matchup problems due to his size.

The Clippers and the NY Knicks have agreed to a trade.

Clippers
Clifford Robinson $8,421,875
Eric Piatkowski $3,000,000

NY Knicks
Antonio McDyess $12,600,000

$11,421,875 x 1.25 = 14277343.75

Math works out.

Antonio McDyees is a great athletic big man, but I have a good big in Ben Wallace. Now I'll have a little more cap space to go after a much needed point guard in free agency

Trade #55

CLIPPER CONTINUE TO ACQUIRE PICKS

The Los Angeles Clippers have moved SF/SG Mike Dunleavy (3.1M) and Center Melvin Ely (1,490,120) to the Memphis Grizzlies for Cezany Trybansky (1.5M), Chris Owens (349,435), Robert Archibald $349,435) and the best of either the HOU or SAC 2003 1st round Pick.

The Grizzlies have $2,758,132 in cap space and take on an additional $2,391,250 in this deal so they have enough cap space to make the salaries work. ($4.590,120 - $2,198,870)

The Grizzlies announced that this move really helped their depth in positions of need and were delighted to move a pick that they did not feel would have great value as low as they anticipate the SAC or HOU pick would be. The players moved in this deal were not expected to be significant contributors to the Grizzlies efforts in 2003 and beyond.
