Did he really win that trade though?
He gave up a top 10 player,
Another Star,
2 rotational peices,
A young player
And trey burke
For 2 1sts, 2 allstars and a fringe Allstar....
The firsts were gravy.
Jokic is definitely the best player in the deal, but Klay, Russell, and Draymond are far and away the next three best players in the deal. Millsap isn't really worth a ton anymore, Barton is meh, and while the other pieces are good for depth, they're also meh.
I think you benefit from getting some much needed depth, but IMO Ness made out like a bandit in getting 3 all-stars for 1 (1 who while great, isn't on the same level as the other top tier players in the league to require such a haul (AD, KD, Kawhi, Giannis, etc.)), essentially.
See I understand that point of view. (The Firsts were overkill but to get Ness to give up a top player your going to have to do a little overkill)
But Klay is coming back from a hamstring injury, DLo is nice, but how good is he really? And Dray is slightly more valueble than Millsap in my POV.
Dray is the better team defender, but Millsap brings everything else he does defensively, and more offensively.
Without injuries from now out in this game to a 100% healthy Millsap is a great addition.
Barton is Meh, but he provides much needed shot creation this team lacks.
He is that elite just bucket go-getter that isn’t horrible on defense.
Beasley, Grant And Burke are all great depth to and can get me quality returns in the future.
I know I didn’t win this trade, but I also don’t feel I lost it.
Win-Win scenario atm I feel.
Though I did just give Ness a loaded gun which could turn out to be a mistake later

Edit: also just imagine how Jokic and Curry could play off eachother.
That ball movement I think is what makes this scary.
Plus the main reason I think we have such differing views is I still value Millsap highly and Jokic extremely.
I view him one step behind those big guys.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.
After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.
