Each season picked must be for a franchise a player already drafted to your team has not played for at any point in his caree

Once a player is chosen, you can no longer select a player who has ever played for a team of which one of your players had played on.

That’s not my interpretation of the rules.

Note the use of the word “season” in line one of rule 3.

My interpretation is that I can’t select any SEASON from those franchises.

If the rule is as you describe it then the rules are worded badly, and I just picked based on that wording.

That’s not my/Snake/Fade/Dr P’s understanding. If you take Magic in the first you can still draft Pau in the second round, as long as you use his Grizzlies season. Then your third round pick you can’t use a season of anyone that played for any of Pau/Magic’s franchises. But in the third you could take Marc Gasol and use his Raptors season, even though he also played for the Grizzlies at one point.

Hopefully we'll have a vaccine for COVID-19 by then.

FYI if Dr P is around he can pick, I have ardee’s list, then it’s me, you for 2, and then back to me. Could have a quick turnaround

Although I don’t mind this rule adaptation, I read it the way everyone else did

“ players from Chicago and Washington are not eligible in Round 2/the remainder of the draft for that drafter.”

This seems to imply any player who has been on those teams is ineligible.

My impression was that he couldn't choose anyone who played for the Lakers at any point, but looking at the rules I'm not sure.

Yes guys I apologize this wasn't clear. I basically took the rules from the expanding player draft and reversed them.

The rules say players "from" X teams are not eligible. Not players who have "ever played for" X teams are not eligible.

I think given this is my mistake and I was not super clear we'll go with the more lax rule. Meaning if you draft Magic in round 1, you can draft Grizzlies Pau in round 2 and then Raptors Marc in round 3.

Everyone ok with that?

That was the original intention but I should have worded it differently. Should have been players "who have ever played for" and not players "from". Since it's my error we'll roll with the other version.

This rule doesn't even hinder the game. It's like a small speed bump.

It will begin to matter more in the later rounds, but yeah the intended idea would have been much more of a challenge. Especially with only 10 players and 40 years to choose from.

Gonna be hard getting the 1-2 fga players you usually get in the later rounds. They typically play for a bunch of teams

A lot of the usual role players/support stars had their best seasons for teams that will be eliminated within the first few rounds. That's where we'll start to feel the pinch IMO. Again though, the player pool is so massive that I'm not sure if it will be that hard to work around.
