Suns core is a good one. 4 starting caliber players with 3 juggernauts.

So many of these cores are from former or current Laker rivals. Phoenix was the least of several evils I guess.

Also considered going for a player, but that seems like a safer move for the people lower down in the order.

Yeah there are a couple of players who are tempting. I'll iron out a list of cores once I am home and see if it is worth it.

LeBron not being available since he later won with Cleveland is a hilarious wrinkle.

Nah, I wanted it that way. Toyed with coming up with stipulations that would allow folks like pre-Duncan Drob and young Lebron to be taken. Eventually thought better of it.

Considered either

a) Allowing players to be chosen if they were a certain number of years before winning a championship
b) Allowing one of the four players to be a player who won a championship with said team
c) A combination of those

Felt too messy and convoluted, and there could have been unintended consequences. This was already a game with somewhat complex rules.

The 2007 Suns are probably my favorite of the possible available teams. Not positive I'd have taken them first, but I love that team and its style of play.

I sure hope we don't have a skip in round 1.

Do folks think starting tomorrow morning is too early?

I can try to replace Fifii if necessary

No objection here. Fifii did complete at least one draft and don't know of Fifii ever dropping out?

Edited in a spreadsheet to track the picks. I'll update the formatting if necessary depending on when people decide to draft their cores.

No longer an issue.

And yeah, I wasn’t worried about him dropping out per se.

It was more a “if I have to ask this question did I start the clock too soon?” sort of musing.

Thanks Fade.

First time running one of these and I’m forgetting some of the basics I take for granted as a player.

Yep.

Thats probably the one I’d have taken though.

Might have left Ayton out though.

I felt like most of the cores are similar and was going to select a single player. I realized that's also relatively flat.

I'm guessing the middle/bottom of the draft can splurge on all the best players and get a core almost as good as some of the top ones.

I feel like it's best to take an offensive slanted core as there are far more high-end defensive players available than offensive players.

Don't think the clock was changed, but I've got something I need to take care of and will probably be away several hours. But what happens, happens and rules is rules. Give me my full two hours, though.

Back.

Larry going into mourning with flaco taking the Celtics right there. Probably the best core so far, imo.
