We are only 8 drafters. The draft will be over fairly quicky. What's the hurry?
Fair enough though. I'm on board with whatever you guys want. Still got plenty of time on my clock. Hope Laimbeer shows up.

DB asked everyone to read the rules changes before we even started as well.

On a different note, there's a certain old school HOFer on the board whom I consider the single most difficult player to rank throughout NBA history. May be top 25 all time. May be nowhere near close the top 100. Go figure. Curious to see how other drafters value him.

If I understand who you were talking about, I hope he doesn't get draft because I don't know how to evaluate him

Me too for the exact same reason.
Was just watching some youtube clips about this guy. If anything, I'm even more perplexed than before. Seems like he had an intriguing face-up game despite being an old school player. One of his contemporaries was claiming he revolutionized his position at a time when most players were relying on post ups.

I'd take him seriously on offense though I assume people wouldn't like his D in modern context.

Could see comparisons ranging from old school Dirk (worst shooter, better rebounder) to old school Kevin Love. Go figure. Personally, I'm leaning toward the Kevin Love comp, but I'm not familiar enough with his game. Fwiw, his contemporary considers him the original stretch 4.

Re: Hubie Brown Draft - Discussion
That last pick is actually fortuitous, as I just remembered I can use Battier's Rockets seasons by virtue of him playing for Duke. I should have had him ahead of Jrue anyway.

I think he plays with extremely high motor and physical toughness leading to being a demon getting offensive rebounds and free throws, so young Love is probably fair, there is some elements of Karl Malone as well.

Re: Hubie Brown Draft - Discussion
Well I have the most hateable team, anyway.
I was surprised no centers went after Embiid in the second. Moses was a steal in the third.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

It's by far the most loaded position in the game tbh. I'm still not even sure what direction I want to go in.

it terms of current roster combined with remaining FGA/G budget, I am enjoying the rosters of Fade, DB, and Doc Poz

Re: Hubie Brown Draft - Discussion
Only just remembered Isiah was available. I was struggling to find a dynamic floor general who could force turnovers and push the pace, and he fits the bill.
Would have liked a bit more of a shooter at PG, but it doesn't look like these teams will have 2020s-level shooting anyway.
