I really like the trio of Kidd-Bron-Bynum. Looks to be too much with the lack of defensive coverage.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 2. amb1ent vs 15. dcash4
I really would've like to see Artest talked up a bit more here. Using him as a specialist defender on either Dirk or Redd could nullify some effective scoring. Overall i see the offenses as quite similar, but the double team on Shaq could be quite costly as Shaq has a great ability to find an outlet pass for a better shot.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 4. Cellardoor vs 13. TheSixthMan
A little bit disappointing to see a writeup from either team here, so it's going off rosters alone.
I'm a little concerned about the tandem of Nash/Duncan working. Nash has always primarily used a fast paced offense, and it would be tough to fit Duncan into that scheme. However, he is still possibly the best defensive anchor in the league. I feel as though K.Martin, Butler and Okur could all benefit from Nash's style of play here. Apart from Duhon, CellarDoor's bench is quite thin, especially with Haywood still being inactive. Bowen, while usually a perimeter defense specialist, has lost his step a little and
might not be as significant as in the past, yet still can restrict Rashard and Wade slightly.
As for TSM's team:
It's hard of what to think the rotation would look like here. Is Hinrich starting? Will he log significant backup minutes at the SG spot? Is it Jefferson/Rasheed upfront? The bench is a little deeper here, with a few options at PG and the 4/5 spots. Personally i'd like to see Rasheed take the 4 spot here and had a defensive anchor type Center start along side him. None the less, there is at least a fair amount of scoring up front. Duncan should be able to nullify one, Caron/Bowen should play well against Rashard, and the one spot looks to be the "open shot guy", so the question raised is can DWade score enough on Martin, and the other big man gets theirs against Okur?
Scoring looks quite even here, so I'm taking the spacing and defense of the Bunnies.
Vote for CellarDoor.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 5. Mascot vs 12. nba_addict
The main factor i have here is Brand playing the Center spot. Both he and Boozer have similar range and scoring options. I would have preferred to see a focus on a low post scoring/defensive anchor tandem Perhaps starting Dalembert could have been a wiser option? His offense might not be there, but having his defense is a major plus, and would compliment a scoring big.
I really like the team built around Kobe, a range shooter, a slasher, a mid range scorer, and an athletic dunker. The spacing is tremendous here.
I'd probably give the bench edge to nba_addict here, but i believe that Mascot's team should win this series.

I like the notes from sterncohen describing the game plan. Reducing the effectiveness of the Yao/Parker duo should be enough here.

Unfortunately MJallday59 joined this game a bit late, as my experiences with him have proven he is extremely solid at building rosters. However With both Marion and JO having less than productive seasons and Melo as the best offensive weapon, it's too hard to vote in that direction.

Both have great scoring teams. Can i request a minute per game breakdown would help me here to gauge who will be playing where, especially in the cases of Howard and Smith, also with Hedo off the bench.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 1. Shaqsux vs 16. quazi31
Close matchup, tough to call. I have to say that I’m a little baffled by the rotations, though – why is LeBron only playing 30 minutes a game? Or Camby only 22?
On talent, I’ve got the two teams pretty even. On team composition, I like the Hurricanes better – lineup built around LBJ with three-point shooters and athletic guys who can run the fast break. I don’t think Quazi’s team meshes nearly as well – Roy and Johnson play the same position, there’s little three-point shooting to space the floor, and if Beasley and Miller are on the floor together nobody is protecting the basket.
Hurricanes in seven.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 1. Shaqsux vs 16. quazi31
i gotta say im also confused as to the rotations from some these teams. lebron at 30? jj/roy under 30? almost entire rosters are part of the rotation? just not realistic at all.
i'm going with shaqsux, since along with lebron, i believe his big man rotation, along with shooters around them, is a superior combination.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 2. amb1ent vs 15. dcash4
This matchup comes down to: is the greatness of Chris Paul enough to make up for a whole bunch of other ways in which dcash's team is better? (OK, let's give Ambient a slight nod on Artest vs. Battier, because Artest has more of an offensive game. And I'll call Shaq and Biedrins even.) Redd >> Daniels et al; Nowitzki > Jamison; Kirilenko, Iverson, Nocioni >> their counterparts on Ambient's bench. And Devin Harris is an all-star. Great as Paul is, I'd say DCash in 7.

this is a good match up but really i think i have too many weapons to handle the reason i have roy playin less mins is so that mayo has some time in to see what happens and who ever is hott is going to stay in...normally joe would play more min but ariza plays better defense so he is going to get more playing time and also bealsey and miller will not be playin at the same time..most liking bealsey with lopez or camby...also when i need a basket i can get them easily...ever single one of my guards can put the ball in the hoop good beside morrow and bayless who arent bad to tell you the truth

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 3. Gremz vs 14. VintaGe36
Gremz has a starting lineup consisting of two all-stars in Granger and Stoudemire, and three mediocre players in Alston, Crawford, and Perkins. Vintage has three all-stars in Billups, Pierce, and Allen, every one of them with a championship under his belt, complemented by two very strong big men in Okafor and Nene. I do think that Gremz has the better bench overall, with quality minutes across the board, but Vintage won't do poorly either with Terry and Wallace on his second unit, and the difference isn't nearly enough to compensate for the talent disparity in the starting five.

Re: BaNT 1st rnd matchup: 5. Mascot vs 12. nba_addict
Good matchup.
In favor of Mascot: Kobe is the best player on the floor; the interior defense is stronger; the bench is somewhat better.
In favor of nba_addict: Williams will eat Bibby for lunch; Iguodala is better than Jefferson; and Boozer, assuming he's healthy, is better than West.
I'll call Chandler and Brand a wash (lousy year against lousy year).
With the talent this close, I'm not betting against Kobe. Mascot in 7.
