I agree. It is an extremely fair way to go and worked out perfectly last game IMO.

Yup, ok give me the wizards. A healthy wizards team, combined with a top 3 pick seems like a good base to work off of.

Someone has the Wizards.

I looked at the list and washington was empty, no email. Thats fine though lets try this again. I'll take the lakers.

This is what I had in mind for the game. Send me any suggestions otherwise.

1. Trading begins with 2008-2009 salaries hopefully within a week, this year's expirings will be able to be traded.
2. Trading will be put on a temporary hold, and the games will be simmed like last game; we will find out team's standings and who won the championship and everything else.
3. A draft lottery will occur to determine draft order
4. The 2009 draft would occur sometime in June.
5. The 2009 free agency would occur around the end of June, beginning of July
6. 2009-2010 season will begin and trading will begin by the middle of July
7. We will continue on until an agreed upon date (I'm not exactly sure when people would want to cut it off)
8. We will then stop the simming and use NBA 2k10 to determine a champion, team standings, nba champions and everything else
9. We will have a draft lottery
10. we will have the 2010 draft
11. we will have 2010 free agency period
12. The game will end and teams will post write-ups and vote.

Also we had 3 open spots for sure (2 GM's had multiple teams, and I had a team), and they have been filled by BlackIce, klomp44, and miller4ever. Thus if you want to be a part of the game and you weren't last time, leave your e-mail address and state that you want to join, and if they are open spots than you will be given the first opportunity to join.

I'll assume that you have the same e-mail address as last game, if not let me know.

Yes same email address skorff.

Just a suggestion - Why dont we use the actual standings and available lotto simulator instead for the draft order. Realgm and ESPN have their own lotto simulator.

We have done that in the past but I think most people preferred the sim and then lotto simulator over real life standings.
If someone would prefer the real life standings, send me an e-mail; if I get 3 e-mails of people wanting the real life standings then lotto simulator instead of the sim then lotto simulator; I will open a poll.

I really think we should just start with the draft.. the season is practically over, no need to have a trading period for this year. Wasn't that what the last game was for? (So count me as 1 who wants to draft on real life standings right now.. i.e. without a trading period)

Well some people had intentions that their upcoming pick would be high IE Washington because if it was a sim they would def not be one of the worst teams in the league and they will get a crap pick

I'm Another. The season is over whats the point of replaying the 08-09 season? Basically its still only a years worth of stuff.
09 Draft
FA
Sim
010 Draft
010 FA

*Edit, I'm sure people want to go into the 2010 FA so this way it is quicker and not as dragging as you would have to trade, sim then wait for 09 Draft in June, then FA then more trading then more simming then 2010 draft then 2010 FA. People would lose interest by then but this way is quicker

I would like a trading period. This is a whole new game, so I'm not sure why you are bringing up the previous game.

I see what your saying about Washington but they are the only team in that situation I would think if the draft lottery was held right now.

but by the time June rolls around every team is going to have different rosters. Who's to say that by June Washington wont have LeBron, do they really deserve the #1 pick then?

Read my post above. I think we should just hold the draft soon not wait until June. I'm positive people want to go to 2010 FA. The season is over anyways why should we redo the season?
