Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic have announced a trade.

Phoenix Trades:

PF Tyrus Thomas - $4,743,598
SF Grant Hill - $3,000,000
SG - Shannon Brown - $1,990,000
PG - Mike James - $6,466,600

Total Outgoing = $16,200,198

Orlando Trades:

PF/SF - Rashard Lewis - $18,876,000
PF - JJ Hickson - $1,429,200

Total Outgoing = $20,305,200

16,200,198* 1.25 + 100,000 = 20,350,248 (greater than 20,305,200, just!)

Phoenix does this to acquire a 3-point specialist in Rashard Lewis, to provide vital floor-spacing we so desperately require. Hickson is a nice prospect to add to the lineup, and will learn well from Odom. Removing Hill gives the opportunity for Daye to earn minutes, whilst I believe Tyrus will do better alongside a PG like CP3, and Shannon Brown was only a backup anyway.

Phoenix Accepts

Toronto would be left at 11 players under contract.

That's why I send my email about signing players to minimum. ..Can't I have 11 after the trade then sign players to fill out the roster? I'm sure that is allowed

we have always done it that the trade has to obey the rules. The NBA uses 13, we use 12.

13.2*1.25=16.50

16.60>15.24

FOR

CHICAGO
Miller 12.25
Gray 1.00
Pargo 1.99
15.24

WHY FOR PORTLAND: We are only doing this deal because it allows us to complete the next deal. We really like Claver and valued Z much more than we value Miller (we wanted to keep Z's bird rights and resign him), but Chicago was in the right place at the right time with the right contracts, so they get something for nothing.

Deal Two

ORLANDO
Okafor 10.80
Turkoglu 9.00
19.8

FOR

PORTLAND
Miller 12.25
Mbah a Moute .74
Gray 1.00
Pargo 1.99
2011 1st
15.98*1.25=19.98
19.98+.1=20.08
20.08>19.80

WHY FOR PORTLAND: We have been bad-contract-phobic in this game and really don't like taking Hedo's deal on, but it's worth it for us to land Okafor. We also hate losing LRMAM, but we need a C to play with Oden/Amare and Okafor is the best option that was available. Some people don't like Okafor's contract either, but we're not going to be under the cap anytime soon, so taking on both Okafor and Turkoglu works for us. With ORL deciding to tear things down and rebuild around Paul/through FA, this deal is a win/win.

Ultimately, we thought getting Okafor justified LRMAM, one of the best defenders in the league and a fantastic bargain, taking on Hedo's bad contract, losing Big Z, and trading away both our 2011 1st and the rights to Victor Claver. We trade youth, depth, and any future cap flexibility for a better shot to win now. Portland Accepts both deals.

there has been a veto request on DEAL 2, gonna give this till 12 Eastern time

Interesting... I take a bad contract (Hedo), lose Z's rights, lose Claver's rights, lose LRMAM, and lose my 2011 1st round pick all for Okafor. I'm assuming this is a veto on the POR part, but most of the GMs I've spoken to feel that I overpaid if anything.

The Magic will cut Chucky Atkins, Aaron Gray, Jeremy Pargo to make limit.

The Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic have agreed to the following:

The Orlando Magic will send:

SG/SF Vince Carter - 16,123,250
PF - Louis Admundson - 825,497
Total: 16,948,747

The Raptors will send:

Amir Johnson - 3,941,667
Antoine Wright - 1,800,000
Roger Mason Jr - 3,780,000
Matt Bonner - 3,256,500
Patrick O Bryant= 855,189

Total: 13,633,356 x 1.25 = 17,041,695 > 16,948,747

Deal Works

We continue our drastic cost cutting by unloading the talented VC. We also pick up a few vets who can help us out immediately. Orlando accepts.

Rather than Amundson and Atkins, the Trailblazers will sign Gray and Atkins.

Note:
The NBA granted a hardship exception for Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla. POR is not at 16 players, but having Oden on their roster may qualify them to have 16 players. The same might hold true for HOU with Przybilla. It's Mascot's call of course.

Philadelphia and Milwaukee have a trade to announce:

Hasheem Thabeet ($4,458,840) and Eduardo Najera ($3,000,000)

for

Yi Jianlian ($3,194,400) and Steven Hunter ($3,696,000)

Salary obviously works

Bucks do this deal to get a solid young C prospect, since PFs are much easier to find than true Cs, which makes it worth taking on Najera's contract.

Confirmed. We like Thabeet a lot, but with Gasol here we had our C of the present and future. We add a Yi, a 7 footer, with great range and he's only 22. He was taken 6th in 2007 for a reason. He is extremely mobile for such a big guy much like Bargs, this is what we have been looking for in our PF of the future. He’s having a breakout season putting up 15/7 and looks like he’s put on quite a bit of muscle. Also we feel that this is a move ownership will like the China factor will bring in quite a bit of money. Welcome to Philly Yi!

Sacramento and Detroit have come to an agreement

Raja Bell ($5,250,000)
for
Kyle Korver $4,163,636
Dajuan Summers $457,588......... $762,195........... $1,059,293

(4.163+.457=4.62)
(4.62*1.25=5.775)

Raja Bell wasn't doing much for us. We like Korver's ability to shoot from the arc and feel with Evans attacking the basket, Korver will be getting many open shots. His high percentage for 3pt shots will translate to many points.
Summers was an added bonus.

Detroit Accepts. Bell is the defensive minded 2 guard that the Pistons need to compete for the 2011 title. He has excellent range and is a great locker room guy. Korver's lack of D and Summers were not needed for this teams direction.

The Nuggets and the Rockets have a deal to announce:

Houston sends:

Kenyon Martin $15,863,636

Denver sends:

Andrei Kirilenko $16,452,000

I know i know we just did this trade and now were trading the same players again. We were both bored and decided to make the same deal. I have a few offers on the table for battier and AK gives me the option to put him at small forward something martin cant do. So anyways Houston accepts.

Denver accepts. Too many combo forwards, so we get back a guy who can play a little bit of C when we go small ball.

Portland: Ditto plus we love what LRMAM brings to the table. We're sad to lose Okafor and Hedo but we're def excited about the money we save.
