Also just as a heads up to everybody. I will be out of town between the 27th and 30th for work; so I do not know how much access I will have to the internet in that time span, so please be patient with me.

Minnesota gives up a young talent in Afflalo and a very early 2nd rounder to save a little money and add a young defensive backup at the forward position and the rites to a project center

accpeted.

We lose banks dead weight, can a pick so we can participate in the draft, and get a nice young prospect in afflalo.

sure gadz is a little more than banks, but at least he was getting some tick, and he fills a hole on my bench, so at least will get some use out of this guy.

The Atlanta Hawks and the LA Lakers have agreed to a trade:

Atlanta will send:

Maurice Williams
Hedo Turkoglu
Zaza Pachulia
Ike Diogu
2010 1st round pick (unprotected)
Rights to Josh Childres

To LAL for

Pau Gasol
Adam Morrison
Sun Yue
Josh Powell

Atlanta is sending $22,130,022 and receiving 23,006,300 back

Atlanta do this deal to get another star in their team on a much needed position and hard position to fill. Pau proved to be very effective playing C in LAL and Atlanta believe he is worth more than he is being paid, even if his salary is expensive. Morrison is young and if he fail to fill the backup SF role for Atlanta he will be a expiring next season. Sun Yue might develop in a decent player and we want to try to develop him. Josh Powell will add a much needed depth and we love his energy on the court.

Atlanta is sad to see Mo Will and Turkoglu go but Pau is a guy they believe they must get to complete the team.

Celtics accept this deal with the Lakers:

Shannon Brown
Ben Wallace
CLE 09 1st

for

Larry Hughes
Anderson Varejao

salary info to follow w/ the Lakers' post, as I a got to run.

Celtics accept becuase we get some value out of a Varejao who most likely will opt out.

Lakers accept we get to shed some salary and get an all star PG who has played great alongside Lebron and hedo will get great looks with players like lebron and allen on the floor. this deal also helps a great deal at the center position with ZAZA taking over, childress right will be put to good use this offseason. Also this deal still helps me contend for the championship this season

Houston and Miami have a trade to announce that's going to change the game...in a hugely miniscule way.

Rashard Lewis/Houston's portion of the Charlotte '10 1st round pick

For

Brad Miller/Darius Songaila/'11 1st

Why for Houston: So we're not paying $120 million or whatever in 2012. Also, the pick will be invaluable in keeping competitive over a long period of time. Brad Miller will also be an invaluable backup to Yao.

Miami accepts. We're going to add some salary here, but Rashard gives us quality shooting to pair with Wade, and will free up space for Haywood to work inside. It's worth to risk to please Wade.

Minnesota and Houston have agreed to a draft pick trade

Houston will send
2009 #41
2009 #53

Minnesota will send
2011 Min 1st

Houston does this because it is contending now, and would love a 2011 backup plan more than two 2nd round players in a weak draft who would not be able to contribute in a stacked rotation.

Atlanta's 2012 2nd,
Sacramento's 2012 2nd
to Minnesota for
2009 pick #8,

The Celtics and T-Wolves have come to an agreement on a trade:

Celtics trade/T-Wolves receive:

Luke Ridnour $6,500,000
Aaron Gray $711,517
#19
#24
BOS 2010 1st round pick (top 10 protected, unprotected in 2011 draft)

Total: $7,211,517

T-Wolves trade/Celtics receive:

Mark Blount $8,513,916
Lorenzen Wright $797,581 (minimum salary, so he doesn't count in the incoming total)
#11

Total: $8,513,916

7,211,517 X 1.25 + 100,000 = 9,114,396
9,114,396 > 8,513,916

Celtics accept. We're happy to move up in the draft, and we aren't too worried about not being in the top 10 next year.

EDIT:  Forgot to add in the #11 pick.

DET and PHX have a trade to announce.

Al Harrington $9,226,250
Jason Richardson $12,222,221
Louis Williams $4,500,000
Courtney Sims $711,517
Brandon Bass $826,269
LA 2nd 2009

for

Shaquille O'Neal $21,000,000
Rasho Nesterovic 8,400,000
Travis Diener 1,620,000
Louis Amundson $797,581
PHX 2009 pick

We give up a 2010 expiring and two guys that can start on most teams, and we really like Bass as a young guy off the bench. That being said we get a guy that is still a top tier center in Shaq and a pick in this draft. We have a two headed monster at C now, with Shaq/Okafor and with Dirk at the PF spot we like our our frontcourt quite a bit.

Minn accepts, we valued #11 but think we will get key pieces we need at 19 and 24 plus pick up the 2010 1st. Trading Blounts big 2010 expiring for Ridnour, a slightly smaller contract and much more useful player. Minnesota is excited to start the draft!

Contingent on the Houston/Miami trade being accepted,

The Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a trade.

Miami sends:

Rashard Lewis- $16,447,871
Tayshaun Prince- $9,500,000
Yakhouba Diawara- $875,000
Jamaal Magloire- $797,581
2009 IND 2nd (#43)
2009 CLE 2nd (#60)
2012 MIA 1st

Total: $27,620,452

Dallas sends:

David West- $9,862,500
Josh Howard- $9,945,000
Rashard McCants- $2,620,126

Total: $22,427,626

Math Works: $22,427,626 x 1.25 + 100,000 = $28,134,533 > $27,620,452

Miami accepts. It's incredibly tough to lose a guy like Prince who has a number of qualities but we desperately need a post presence here.
West should account for the loss of offense in Lewis, and Howard is a nice replacement to Prince.
Adding picks was necessary to add more value to the deal.

Dallas confirms, parting with D-West was really hard, but seeing that I like shooters, you can tell with the way i constructed this team, also many people are now criticizing D-West since he's not much of what he was earlier lately. I FINALLY got a ntable defender in Tayshaun Prince, plus he can spot in the corner for 3's, rebound, pass, and is slightly better than J-Ho, finally, I get some picks, really, despite it being too damn late, I see some diamonds in the rough, plus i got Magloire and Diawara, Magloire still has his presence, not the one he had earlier of hsi career obviously, but Ive watched a decent fair amount of MIA games, he's useful, finally, Diawara can be useful too, bah. So yeah, I bleieve this is fair for both of us.
