Trade#247: Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets

Washington Wizards send:
2012 23rd overall pick

Houston Rockets send:
2012 25th overall pick
2012 39th overall pick

The late first round picks are more or less the same to me.

Meh, why not. Move up a little since we don't have a need for so many picks.

Settled it up.
A)Detroit Piston will keep the 2012 NOH 2nd
B)Minnesota will send 2012 MIL 2nd from #234 to Orlando Magic
C)New Orleans Hornets will owe a future trade with Minnesota.
Either 1st for additional 2nd+ Missing 2nd. 2 2nds for Missing 2nd. Or other asset not involving players.

Houston sends: Marcus Thornton($8,000,000) + Kevin Seraphin($1,680,360) + Dante Cunningham($2,000,000) = $11,680,360

Chicago sends: Bismack Biyombo($2,798,040) + Mike Dunleavy($3,750,000) + Shannon Brown($3,500,000) = $10,048,040 x 1.5 = $15,072,060

Houston will also send $1m in cash considerations.

We shopped Thornton around a little while for a center....and Biyombo can play there we think. He's extremely raw on offense, but he's already shown he can block shots(4PER36, and surprisingly only 6 fouls), and rebound at a decent rate. At 19 years old we think his potential with his length/motor and athleticisim is off the charts.

Confirmed.

New Jersey Accepts - we like Orton's development and feel he can become an elite level big man in the game and are looking to build through the draft and youth. Dorell was a quality SF and Joel brought great energy with limited skills and we wish them well. This also helps our cap situation.

Nice Dealing Spree!

#249 Houston and New Orleans have a trade:

Houston sends: Tyreke Evans($5,251,825) + Tyler Hansbrough($3,055,259) + #47 = $8,307,084

New Orleans sends: DeMarcus Cousins($3,880,800)

New Orleans has cap to absorb the difference.

Houston accepts. We feel this might be a high price to pay...but we know how hard it is to get a quality center. Cousins is an up and coming stud. Big, agile, good in the lowblock and hes blocking shots at a nice rate. It's hard to give up 2 of our starters but we get to open up a little more capspace while adding a great young center.

Reke is a terrible fit with Rose and won`t stay, but he is a good young player with value. I under estimated the headcase issues that Cousins has in regards to his perception in the league. Tyler is a high energy player that can start in this league (proved that in last years playoffs). The pick will be moved to MIN.

not that it will matter, but the 2013 salary for Ayon is double what is posted here. Think it was like $1.5mil (but i also may believe it is ung)

And also Crawford makes $5,225,000, but the deal still works.

#251 - Phoenix & New Orleans

Phoenix Trades
PHX 1st Round Draft Pick (#3 Overall)
DeJuan Blair - $1,054,000
Rights to Victor Claver

New Orleans Trades
Tyreke Evans - $5,251,825

Salaries work as PHX has the cap space necessary to absorb Tyreke's contract.

Phoenix Accepts

Wow. Great finally getting to deal with New Orleans. We had been back and forth on several concepts, but as soon as NOH acquired Tyreke I knew we had the pieces to get something done. BlackIce was looking to get an aggressive pick and I was looking for a young franchise player.

We got that player in Tyreke.

Great dealing BlackIce. Great dealing.

Fun trade here. We get a top 3 pick which we have been after for a while. Blair is a nice piece and Claver could come in handy. We both got what we wanted. Great dealing.

#252 Houston and New Jersey have a trade:

Houston sends: Mike Dunleavy($3,750,000)

New Jersey sends: Shawn Marion($8,396,364) + #31, #46, #49

Houston has caproom to absorb the difference.

Houston accepts. We take on a little salary, but we like Marion and the picks a lot. Marion will be a nice veteran to add to our young core who is on a short enough deal for us. He can play the 3 or the 4 while playing good defense, rebounding, and hitting open shots.

With Hedu and Marcus Morris - Marion was an expensive Backup. Mike Dunleavy brings a ton of experience and production for $5M less and will be a great professional example to our young guys. We have always liked his team first attitude and skill set. Plus - major concern about our youth watching Marion's shot! I like our guys better than the late 2nds we give up in this deal.
