I'll decline the team option ($2,500,000) for Aaron Brooks.

Like CP3 and Dwight re-signing and cannot blame Bynum for taking the most money.

As general manager of the Pelicans, we were hesitant to offer Bynum the maximum contract. However, we also did not want to miss out on acquiring him either. Hopefully his contract will not be too big a detriment in the final rankings.

OT: I think this is the first time I've actually won a Tier 1 FA. Sweet!

FA News:

Take with grain of salt.

Millsap reportedly reaches agreement on five-year deal with PHI.

Iguodala reportedly verbally agrees to deal with POR.

Mayo reportedly has $12m/year offer on table.

Jennings reportedly seeking max contract and big market.

Smoove reportedly choosing among max offers.

CJ Miles has been let go of at no cost as he is a TO. I know I left an offer on the table and did this for nothing, but desperate times.

Pelicans waive the unguaranteed contract of Quincy Miller. We also decide to decline the team option to Jannero Pargo.

Now that the Gerald Green issue has been resolved, the Hornets/Pelicans now have less than 1 million to spend therefore all they effectively have left is the Miami Heat exception, and the ability to re-sign their own RFA.

Was tier 2 pushed back a day? Can we start sending in tier 3?
