2004-05 Amare Stoudemire

Image

In case you guys haven't figured it out yet, the team I'm attempting to build is a modified version of the SSOL Suns--one of my favorite teams to watch growing up. Peak Amare was extremely scary on offense. This is the season Amare put up 37ppg on 61%TS in the playoffs against a prime Tim Duncan. Nash, Marion, Draymond, and Amare is an excellent start.

Sorry for the delay, my calculator has been shooting flames for the number crunching I've had to do for the pick
With my risk of a pick I'm going with
Spoiler:
Rudy Gobert
Image
This pick is essentially as good as my luck for the next 27 picks, also I can't let LA Bird have all of the fantasy Gobert fun :)

Chris Mullin

7.4 FGA, 3.1 of which were 3FGA - which he shot at a .465 clip. I don't much more needs to be said . . .

But I will say this - with Mullin, McMillan, and "Mickey," I have addressed this newfangled "spacing" business. I have the unstoppable force inside with McFilthy who will destroy one-on-one coverage or pass out of the double-team to the bombers. I also have an excellent creator, facilitator, and pace-changer in Sugar. Of course, I have a few more pieces to add as well . . .

Welp, I almost took this guy in the last round as a panic pick after Bruce Bowen got taken, so I'm pretty pleased to land:

Image

Shane Battier. A 3 point shooter and strong defender in the same vein as the ever-popular Bruce Bowen, and also has some nice versatility defensively as well.

I'm going with Kevin McHale. A super-efficient scorer on relatively low FGA, an excellent rebounder and defender, can play both next to Gilmore and Rodman.

I've just realised that despite my best efforts I'm running a bit higher than expected on FGA. With that in mind, I'll bring in the 1985-86 Sixth Man of the Year, a crucial piece of one of the greatest teams of all time, to back up Cap. A top-notch reserve with only 5.1 FGA which gives me a bit more breathing room to fill out my roster.

Man there's a guy on the board I can't believe is still around that doesn't fit whatsoever and he's just so tempting still.

If he's still around next round I am 100% picking him.

For now, i'll take Paul George.

There are a few players that I love as value at this spot but I have to go with a guy that I believe is extremely undervalued as one of the few PGs who have proven they can stop Magic and I would argue is the best defensive PG/SG of all time.

Dennis Johnson

I'll go with:

Image

Steve Kerr here.

Great fit with Wade.

Prime Wade handled the ball a lot, this gives me an off the ball spot up shooter, a knock down clutch guy, and a sneaky defender who played hard every play.
