Man, so devastatingly close to landing Dirk.

Need a minute.

I probably should have gone Giannis, I loved the idea of Durant/Giannis. I’ve had varied results building around Giannis though and it’s been a long time since I’ve tried building around a center like that.

Shaq was just absurd value. The restriction doesn’t scare me too much, not with the more lax form of it.

I had posted Giannis before I realized you were up, but I was having buyer's remorse about not taking Shaq. I think you will be fine in regards to the restriction. I think Giannis has started garnering more respect in these games in recent months. Plus I like still having 28 franchises available after my 1st 2 picks.

Since there's no rule discussing defunct franchises, I won't include those....

It's not that Giannis doesn't get respect. He totally does.

Buidling around him is a little tricky, though potentially rewarding. Shaq/Durant seemed like a really easy sell.

Words cannot describe how badly I wanted Dirk there, though. 2 seven footers with perimeter skill sets just gives me the warm fuzzies. I'm also surprised Dirk didn't go sooner. Obviously he's a guy I like better than a lot of people do, but I thought he'd be particularly attractive in this game since he plays for a franchise that doesn't usually have that many chosen seasons.

In retrospect we probably should have reduced the player pool with such a small draft.

Those bottom teams are gonna be looking good. Hmmhmmm.

I don't think you should be able to draft Gervin (he played for Virginia). Also the Nets aren't a defunct franchise

Euro loses Philly, Nets and Virginia cause of Erving (ABA Nets are included as part of their history on basketball reference)

Yea I messed that up, the Nets are legal for euro, but Gervin is not (not that he is a good pick in this anyways)

Why would Gervin not be legal?

Ardee said that Euroleague would hypothetically be able to choose Pau Gasol as long as he didn't choose a Laker season for him.

The Nets on the other hand are NOT legal for him since a player he has played for them.

This seems to imply any player who has been on those teams is ineligible.
That was the original intention but I should have worded it differently. Should have been players "who have ever played for" and not players "from". Since it's my error we'll roll with the other version.

CP3 dropped quite far. I almost took him with Magic, was expecting Colbinii to draft him. That's a steal
