Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Knicks trade:
David Lee 1.79 million
Chris Duhon 5.585 million
Mardy Collins 1.034 million
The Bobcats trade:
Jermareo Davidson 711,517
Nazr Muhammed 6.05 million
Raymond Felton 4.15 million
This is a tough decision to make. I really like David Lee and am loathe to deal him despite the fact that I wind up dealing him in every single fantasy league type thing I play as the Knicks. He's just my best asset and point guard is my teams biggest need. Felton averaged 14.4 points 7.4 assists and a steal a game. I think he has the potential to be better and by making this deal I am taking a huge chance that he will. But even if he doesn't improve as a Knick fan I am more than content to have a point guard putting up those numbers. I also get Nazr Muhammed who'll be a useful stop gap if he isn't subsiquentally traded, I dump a free agent acquisition I wasn't keen on and kept Malik Rose's expiring contract for future trades.

well thats easy, no commish would approve a trade unless all parties agreed to the trade and theres a 6-12 hour approval period
A 12 hour approval period is much better but as we have all seen in previous versions of the game things do come up especially to the commissioners. 12 hours isn't always enough although it is a reasonable amount of time.

I agree 12 is reasonable, but I think with trades that are more sketchy it'll take a bit longer to process.
Also, please work the math in your trade, we're not doing any math for you on this thread despite our wrath or whatever's left of it.

I accept, while it is a pain to gut a franchise PF and a first round pick for two 1-year rentals, the Hornets are serious about contending so they are gutting their depth and wing potency for these players. Good luck in Miami, David West.

JJ and a $15 mil expiring for Peja/mediocre tossins and what will end up being lousy draft picks =

This 4 commish system doesn't seem to be working. I think we need one or two commish's who don't have their own teams. Also, I think thr public veto was a WAY better approach instead of the current system where the commish's are striking deals among themselves using the "I scratch your back and you scratch mine" approach..

yeah really. the point of a commish is to be an unbiased party to all teams. not a team owner and a commish. and public vetoing is definitely better than this.

i'm willing to forfeit my team and help out if it means not having to compete with these type of trades.

Don't do that dcash, your one of the smarter people on this site and I'd like to compete against you.
Also, as for my trade with the Hawks, I don't think it was as unfair as everyone makes it out to be. Dunleavy averaged 19 ppg last year, and Hibbert is looking to be a good player. Plus I took Claxton's contract from him. I would say I got the best player in the deal by a good amount, but as they said, the JJ was already in place and Dunleavy was to replace him.
Anyway, I'm not complaining, everyone is allowed their own opinions, I just wanted to say mine with everyone else's.

Your deal with ATL was at least somewhat reasonable compared to that soon to be shot down 3 way.
When you combine the 2??? Peja and Dunleavy on the same team doesn't really fly compared to JJ/J Smoove.
Rip/Haslem on the other hand

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Detroit Pistons are pleased to announce that they have come to Atlanta's aid and have leveled the field for a brief moment anyway. Detroit bring in a perfect compliment to Stuckey in the backcourt with JJ but will be sad to see the masked man depart. Atlanta bring's in not 1 but 2 quality players in this deal and should be much better for it.
Detroit and Atlanta have agreed on a trade.
Rip/Haslem = $10,812,500 + 6,575,000 = $17,387,500
for
JJ = $14,232,567 x 1.25 + 100,000 = $17,890,708.75
Atlanta also recieve Detroit's 09 LP 1st(no protection in 2010)/Toronto 09 2nd/Toronto 11 2nd
Detroit accepts

Only one somewhat iffy trade has been approved. The rest of the approved trades have been pretty fair IMO.
The one really lopsided deal was vetoed as it should have been.
I try to be fair in my dealings, sure I want to win a deal but I also don't mind losing a deal(which I think I just did with Atlanta) as long as it benefits my team in the long run. Being fair also helps keep the game more balanced IMO.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
Atlanta GM: the posts above have you trading Joe Johnson to New Orleans in a revised 3-way deal, then trading Johnson again an hour later to Detroit. Please clarify your intentions so we can review the trades.
Everybody: I've reviewed all of the posts about trades being approved and vetoed. My view is that so far we've had a couple of close calls approved, giving the benefit of the doubt to owners as we should, and one lopsided trade (which involved a commissioner) vetoed. I think that this is about right, but would welcome your feedback - preferably by e-mail to all four commissioners rather than by posting.
And, that being said: if anybody can find a reliable person who does not have a team, and who is willing to do the work of running the league, I for one would be thrilled. And I will go back to the task of keeping the draft picks thread up to date, which is what I originally volunteered for.
