The Dallas Mavericks have announced that they will be resigning Aaron Gray
Year 1- $2,000,000
Year 2- $2,500,000
Year 3- $3,000,000
-Aaron feels that Dallas has a bright future and is happy to be a part of it.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced that they will be signing Rasho Nesterovic with their full bi-annual exception.
year 1 $1,990,000
year 2 $2,149,200
-Rasho wanted a little bit more money from a contending team, but the offers weren't out there. He is happy to be a part of the Cavaliers organization, and he feels that he has a very good chance to win a title in the next two years.

Wow, talk about slipping through the cracks. I had thought he was one of those players Skorff said there was a lot of bidding on.

GM's are throwing away ridiculous money.. Millsap for 55 million for 5 years? Really?? Leon Powe, 4.5 mill per, really?!! A lotta guys got paid! I don't think we should ever do FA again. Guys just put in unreasonably high offers for a lotta FA's.

Re: GM a Team: Free Agency Thread
yea i figured Kidd should get 10 mill per season from his own franchise for sure so i offered Marbury 4,000,000 for 2 years....talk about ripping myself off.

There was some interest in Kidd, but it died down. He likes this deal since he wants a championship and most teams with cap space are rebuilding, and it is a perfect deal for him since next year he can opt out and test the free agent market when there will be contending teams with cap space and he'll try to get a bigger offer. Also by going to the Lakers, he should be their starter from the beginning.

It's the same thing that happened in the last GM a Team game though. Since we don't have owners worried about money, teams can spend more money without facing the consequences.

Son of a gun. I had him targeted from the beginning but I never got around to making an offer.

Exactly, that's why I never bothered to make offers to certain free agents. I know that some team with cap room is going to blow my MLE offer out of the water as always happens. I just thought with the big summer of 2010 thing coming that such extravagent spending would have been tempered somewhat.

Since this is the case, Skorff, I would like to change my offer to Millsap to the one that I proposed to you, starting at 15 mil.

Sacramento happens to be 40 mil under the cap with 9 core rotation players under contract. Even I just simply doubly my current salary amount, I still won't even be at the league minimum. And the actual contract I offered Millsap works well for my team. (Not the one that is currently posted)

Portland has signed Anderson Vareajo (Portland uses their entire MLE)
Year 1: 5,819,000
Year 2: 6,284,520
Year 3: 6,750,040
Year 4: 7,215,560
Year 5: 7,681,080(player option)
-This was a very difficult decision for AV. He had two identical offers; one was for one of the best teams in the league guaranteeing him a chance to play about half a game. The other was for one of the up and coming teams in the league with more playing time. He decided to go with the team that won most championships during the simulations, and he decided in the end that he normally plays about half a game anyway so as long as he can get half a game in Portland he'll be happy.
