Let them deal with their own math. The only time we may care about others totals is if we are fighting for a FA. In trades, we don't really care....at least I don't.

Miami and New Orleans have a trade to announce

New Orleans Out/Miami In: David West 9,075,000; James Posey 6,031,800; Morris Peterson 5,992,240; Ike Diogu 825,497; Marcus Thorton 457,588 = 22,382,125 x 1.25 = 27,977,656 (trade works)

Miami Out/New Orleans In: QRich 8,700,000; Udonis Haslem 7,100,000; Michael Beasley 4,638,600; Dorrell Wright 2,887,165 = 23,325,765

New Orleans accepts. We wanted to bring in a couple of young players, in this trade we get Beasley who we think will we a very good fit in New Orleans. We also wanted to cut some future salary and we do that by moving West, MoPete, and Posey.

Marcin Gortat $5,854,000/$6,322,320/$6,790,640/$7,258,960/$7,727,280
Roger Mason - $3,780,000
DeJuan Blair - $850,000/$918,000/$986,000/$1,054,000
Rights to Tiago Splitter (28th pick, 2007)

for

Josh Howard -$10,890,000/$11,835,000

*no roster limit for this portion of the game according to the commish so the deal works.

Reasoning: We add an allstar caliber SF, that plays D to pair up with Carter while keeping Manu as our 6th man. We now feel that a core of Mcdyess/Duncan/Howard/Carter/Parker with Manu as our 6th man gives us what we need to win it all (*cough, your move LA, cough*).

Accepted
Reason:
We add a yound center that we wanted on our team all along. Also get a great shooter that fits great on the Mavs in Mason. As well as Blair which to me seems like a pretty good player but fell in the draft. Also got the right's to Splitter which i can probably turn into something better.

This allows me to be flexible with my lineups. Wait for it LA, and SA a move is coming.

The Bulls and Mavericks have come to agreement on a deal:

CHI trades/DAL receives:

Brad Miller $12,250,000
Francisco Garcia $5,800,000
Lindsey Hunter $825,497 (doesn't count in incoming total because he has a minimum-salary contract)

Total: $18,050,000

DAL trades/CHI receives:

Drew Gooden...... $4,500,000
Roger Mason....... $3,780,000
Shawne Williams.. $2,416,067
Jose Barea......... $1,657,500
Quinton Ross....... $1,033,342
James Singleton... $1,030,189 (DAL has signed him for the QO)

Total: $14,417,098

14,417,098 X 1.25 + 100,000 = 18,121,372
18,121,372 > 18,050,000

Bulls accept. We're glad to be able to dump Garcia's contract, and we weren't planning on resigning Miller this offseason anyway. We also like the potential of Mason and Barea.

EDIT: If we have to wait on this deal to be approved due to Mason just being acquired by the Mavs, that's fine.

Dallas and Golden State have agreed on a deal:

Dallas trades: Greg Buckner ($4,080,916), Matt Carroll ($4,700,000)

Golden State trades: Corey Maggette ($8,937,931)

Why? GS gets out of Maggette's long term deal and gets instant salary relief from waving Buckner. Carroll can play as a spot up shooter off the bench, but most importantly his contract is much smaller than Maggette's. This also opens up a lot of SF and PF minutes for Randolph and Wright

Dallas accepts because they get another quality big to add to their lineup and dumping contracts and players which weren't needed. Also get Garcia who comes on a hefty contract but is still a consistent player.

Dallas accepts we get the SG to replace Howard after he was traded away for players that weren't really going to get playing time.

The New York Knicks and Portland TrailBlazers have agreed upon a trade.

The Knicks send G Chris Duhon ($6,031,800), and G Toney Douglas ($996,240) for G Andre Miller ($6,730,800) and CJ Watson ($1,000,497).

Knicks Outgoing/Portland Incoming: $7,028,040
Portland Outgoing/Knicks Incoming: $7,773,297

$7,028,040 X 1.25 = $8,785,050

Knicks accept, itchy to make a deal, and here we acquire one of the more underrated PG's in the game on a decent contract. I don't want to bank on cap-space to land me a miracle, so trying to acquire and retain as much talent as we can is crucial in the beginning of the game. Besides, we still have more than enough capspace for the 2010 season, despite the contract differential. Watson is also a solid backup, and had a nice run to finish off last season.

Duhon is a PG on an expiring contract. He will be the backup to Jonny Flynn. Douglas gives us a backup combo guard with defense. We also save 745,000 instantly with the deal.

Since both deals are still pending I will consider Mason as contingent and not make you wait any extra time. The 48 hour rule will be applied AFTER a player has switched teams via an approved trade.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets have agreed to the following:

Memphis will send:

Zach Randolph - 16,000,000
John Salmons - 6,429,151
Marcus Williams - 825,497

= 23,254,648

Houston will send:
Tracy McGrady - 22,483,124 x 1.25 = 28,103,905 > 23,254,648 Works

Zach Randolph and Salmons don't fit into our future plans, so we decided to save some money in this deal. Hopefully Tmac can contribute in the future, but if not..oh well.

I accept. Tracy McGrady has injury issues that concern me. In return for him, I get a 20/10 player in Zach Randolph who can help fill the post scoring void left by Yao Ming, a wing player that can score 18 ppg, and a young prospect. I do take on a lot of salary for 2011, but all contracts will end the same year as Yao's if he decides to pick up his player option.

10:35 you post that UFAs can be signed and by 11:23 the Lakers sign 5 of them? How many offers could they have received in that time? I mean c'mon now. I'm not personally interested in any of these players, but jumping to the conclusion without seeing all the offers out there that these guys would sign for the Lakers (for the minimum) doesn't make much sense to me. How do we know a team doesn't come out with an offer for Tinsley that is significantly above the veteran's minimum?

IMPORTANT INFO

Any unsigned restricted FA will be property of the team that holds his rights. Lee/Nate to NY, Sessions to MIL, etc. So teams with those players send me an offer sheet and we will hammer out a deal. Any unsigned unrestricted FA will be free game. Feel free to start sending in offers once you have all the prerequisite roster info posted.

I posted that as a reminder because only a few GMs had sent in offers even though I had given the go ahead a few days ago.

And thanks for posting that quote SamBone.

ROSTER INFO

All teams must be at the roster limit of 12-15 by September 14th.

The 5 teams that have yet to be taken will get some leeway on this.
