The Nets confirm this deal. We need time to build chemistry and mature. That will allow Thompson to develop into an elite PF while AK47 provides leadership. He can play at the SF/PF and brings a great skillset. The Nets were concerned about Ryan Andersons poor defense & whether he could continue to be effective on the offensive end. He is amoung the best shooting bigs in the game - but the lack of a Center (DH12) who commanded a double team could be a problem for Ryans future. And Someone will pay dearly to find out! The Nets save some money- get a great prospect and leadership & a future 1st. Great Dealing with you King!

LA Lakers and Philadelphia

Philly sends:

Josh Howard - $854,389

LA Lakers sends:

Nothing

Works as Howard's a min. And we need a backup SF who has experience and some game left.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

269#

PHI and CLE have a trade to announce.

PHI outgoing:
Ryan Anderson $7,500,000
Jamal Crawford $5,000,000
Hakim Warrick $4,000,000
total: $16,500,000

CLE outgoing:
Andris Biedrins $9,000,000
Thaddeus Young $8,039,130
Austin River $2,238,360
total: $19,277,490

Thad is the perfect full court PF, he can defend, rebound and shoot. Beans is another C and Rivers is one of my favourite prospects in the draft.

While Thad is a talented young F, we feel he's more of a tweener and like Anderson's game a little better at the 4. Hate to give up Rivers; but to be honest, while he's talented, he still needs a little development and we already have the #2 and #3 picks in the draft. Warrick is also a nice piece for the bench and we dump Biedrins horrible play AND contract

Dallas sends:
$4,600,000 - Linas Kleiza
$4,000,000 - Ersan Ilyasova
$2,612,500 - Reggie Williams

Really only because I like Ersan. Kleiza has the same amount of years as Gordon and Reggie is a sniper.

Henson: $1,823,280 * 1.5 + 100,000 = 2,834,920
Klay: $2,222,160

Also within 5M.

ATL accepts. I really felt Henson was a top 10 pick talent, and seeing him drop to 14 was a bit of a shock for me. I love his length and was actually considering pursuing him instead of Hawes as my long-term big next to Monroe. Now he can come off the bench and develop slowly, then help us down the road. Good to get back in the game after being out of town for a few days.
