Lakers incoming: Hedo Turkoglu ($9.8 million)
Lakers outgoing: Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton, 2011 1st, 2011 2nd (from Minny) ($10.735113 mil)

As a rebuilding team, we feel that getting rid of Hedo's contract (Walton's is bad, too, but not as bad) outweighs the hit in talent.

We shave another mil off this year's salary and get a player that will at least offer some production off the bench.

We have decided to add another part this already huge trade...

DJ White $1,036,440

OKC Gets:
Nick Young$2,630,503

Trade Works because of cap space...that i still have left over.

OKC does it because i needed some more scoring off the bench and Young's athleticism and scoring ability could come in handy when this goes through an offensive drought.

Washington accepts because we signed a bunch of SGs and Nick Young does not fit in our long term plans. We are intrigued by the potential of DJ White.

How does this possibly work salary wise

Isn't Phoenix over the cap?
And Dallas is over the cap too...

Salaries in trade don't work like that...

It does work... we're taking back less than we send out, not more. You can always take less, provided it fits the 125% + £100k rule for the other teams.

Bulls accept, we hate to lose Stuckey, and newly acquired Tyrus, but Thomas was never in our plans, and we needed a more natural PG. Harris gives us a bit more stability, and has been playing at a much higher level these past two months.

approved, the salaries are being absorbed by cap space on the other teams, thus Trade Exceptions are being made.

The Suns and Trailblazers have agreed on a trade.

Amare Stoudemire 17.2
Petteri Koponen .9
18.1

for

Andrew Bynum 13.7
Lamar Odom 8.2
21.9

Salaries match.

We were actively shopping Amare now that we have Dirk and we felt that this deal gave us the best fit. We like Bynum's fit next to Dirk and feel that Kidd will be very good for him. We also like how much Odom strengthens our bench. It hurts to lose a player of Amare's caliber, but we feel like this makes us a more complete team.

I may be wrong, but I was under the assumption that once you signed a player you couldn't trade them? I don't care either way though.

TMAC confirmed the change with Mascot before he posted the Tyrus Thomas sign and trade.

Amare's salary should be $16.5mil

I am also not sure of what amount Koponen is making exactly but the trade may work by a fraction or may miss by one. Exact numbers would clarify that situation and help determine whether you need to add another player or if the deal works as is.

I posted the exact numbers Mascot sent me for Amare's extension on my roster page. The first year salary is "10/11: $17,197,241"

I when I asked to request signing Koponen, I was sent "$925,200" as his first year salary.

The total is 18,122,441.

18,122,441 *1.25=22,653,051

22.65m is greater than 21.9m so the salaries work.

I wonder why Amare got more than 30% of the cap...

anyway the deal would work no matter based on Koponen's contract numbers.

Thanks for the info Sabas

Phoenix Accepts the Amar'e trade.

It was tough to give up Bynum & Odom, but I was ranked 9th in the Western conference and need to shake things up. I'm a big fan of Amar'e, espeically his recent form showing he's back to his best, and this paves way for my next deal (posted imminently). I wasn't confident I could extend Amar'e, but now he's got his deal, I'm happy to bring him home. Welcome back!

Phoenix & Dallas have a trade to announce.

Phoenix Trades -

C - Eddy Curry - $11,276,863 (exp)
SF/G - Jason Kapono - $6,641,440 (exp)
PG - Ty Lawson - $1,546,540

Total = $19,464,863

Dallas Trades -

C - Emeka Okafor - $11,795,000
PF - Dante Cunningham - $762,195
SF - Luke Walton - $5,260,000
SG - Wayne Ellington - $1,003,560

Total = $18,820,755

The deal works.

Phoenix does this trade to land the complimentary Center for Amar'e in Okafor, and two young prospects to fill out the roster in Cunningham & Ellington. It sucks to take on Walton and give up Lawson, but like I said before, I need to shake things up.

With a lineup now of: Okafor/Amar'e/Lewis/Matthews/Conley, I feel I'm in a better position to make some noise in the playoffs.

Dallas accepts.

We save a great deal of money over the next few seasons and acquire a terrific young PG in Lawson.

Phoenix have ANOTHER trade to announce, this time with Milwaukee.

Phoenix Trade:

PF - JJ Hickson - $1,528,920
PF - Dante Cunningham - $762,195

Milwaukee Trade:

PG - Jrue Holiday - $1,627,920

The deal works as Milwaukee have cap space.

Phoenix accepts this trade as after departing with Ty Lawson, we felt we needed another exciting young point guard to back up Conley, and Jrue fits the bill. It's not great to lose JJ and Dante, but helps me balance the depth chart so I'm happy :)
