Could the 4 vetoes on my trade happen to be the same 4 people who sent me trade requests...hmmm... I wonder?
Anyways, Hinrich and Nocioni are on the block...
Please don't send low ball offers just because you THINK I was being hosed on the last trade I accepted

We accept the three team deal!!!!!!!!!!

Andre Miller is a UnrestrictedFA playing on a mediocre team. No way I resign him to a deal!!!!! Lucky Luke is ballin outrageous as he just had a 25 point game. Drew Gooden is a monster/beast on the boards and can be a sweet fit next to Bizosh!

Top 5 Guaranteed team!!!!!!!

I know I didn't send you a trade request so there is part of your answer. The trade was lopsided, simple as that.

Does that mean any team that signs him has to be under the cap? or was it just the magic that used it on him and they can't take him back without his full salary.. if it's the latter, minny will pick him up. if it's the former.. he's still a FA.

Dcash or Mascot- any word on why Orlando isn't able to pick Baston up and if I am?

Phoenix and Golden State have a trade:

To Golden State:
Amare Stoudamire 15,075,550
Beno Udrih 5,585,000
Francisco Garcia 1,983,453
Will Bynum 711,517
Total 23,355,520

To Phoenix:
Carmelo Anthony 14,410,581
Greg Buckner 4,015,000
Kelena Azubuike 2,900,000
C.J. Watson 711,517
Total 22,037,098

Numbers obviously work.

Golden State accepts. (Rationale: Stoudemire.)

Suns accept. Amare is our franchise but getting a younger franchise player in melo is just what we need for a change. We feel the team is better with melo and boozer on both forward positions now that we have porter here who likes to run halfcourt offense. Klenna and watson are good 3pt shooters.

The Blazers and Magic have agreed on a deal:

Blazers trade/Magic receive:

Rashard Lewis $16,447,881
Luke Jackson $797,581
Portland's 2011 1st round pick (top 5 protected)

Total: $17,245,462

Magic trade/Blazers receive:

Richard Jefferson $13,200,000
Antonio Daniels $6,200,000

Total: $19,400,000

17,245,462 X 1.25 + 100,000 = 21,656,827
21,656,827 > 19,400,000

Blazers accept. We're happy to bring in a SF who better fits our team in Jefferson, and Daniels only further strengthens our bench. We also shed some more salary for the all-important 2010 FA year.

Ok. I'll get Mihm off my roster and undo the houston/miles swap. However, I don't understand the rationale about me not getting jarvis hayes. He got cut by the Kings and I haven't heard about him getting a biannual exception. Dcash, could you rule on this? I'm just not an expert of this type of stuff. Thanks!

Isn't it because,

in real life, a player has to clear waivers for another team to pick him up as a minimum player, however, we don't have waivers here, if player A is dropped from team A, and team B picks up player A, player A's entire salary goes onto Team B's cap. Therefore, in order to pick up a player that was cut, you would need to have enough cap space to cover his entire salary.

That does make some sense, but I don't think that helps the FA process at all mid season because e.g. you have no chance of having marbury getting picked up and losing all the cap. It's definitely a conundrum :D

The Grizzlies would like to pick up Jarvis Hayes. I have the cap space for it to go through. I would also like to release Adrian Griffin.

The Magic accept the deal with Portland.

We need more shooting in our starting five and what better fit than Rashard Lewis. His contract sucks, so we'll have to find cheap help in other areas. Luke Jackson should provide solid scoring in our second unit and the 2011 First is another asset to find inexpensive help.

trades approved. there was a veto on the melo/amare trade but that trade will be allowed to go through.

thanks to everyone that did a great job of explaining the FA rules of the game.

last chance to get trades approved will be 9pm pacific monday night.

The Blazers and Bobcats have agreed on a trade:

Portland trade/Bobcats receive:

Ike Diogu $2,912,822
Rashad McCants $2,620,126
Alando Tucker $1,001,880

Total: $6,534,828

Bobcats trade/Portland receives:

Marquis Daniels $6,864,200
Renaldo Balkman $1,369,920
Derrick Byars $442,114 (minimum salary, doesn't count in total)

Total: $8,233,400

6,534,828 X 1.25 + 100,000 = 8,268,535
8,268,535 > 8,233,400

Blazers accept. We're happy to get a real backup SF in Daniels who can do just about everything. We had to give up Diogu to get this trade done, but Balkman is a solid energy guy who can play PF (especially with our other 3 big men).
