The Timberwolves are a championship contender and the Spurs aren't? And it just so happens I had a deal in place to trade Tony Parker depending on whether or not I got him. Though obviously commish (or whomever) wouldn't know.

My team is younger, more athletic, and have two dominant bigs along with a young scorer in Eric Gordon. Everyone is still in their twenties and will grow together for many more seasons. So many weapons on the team why wouldn't he want to come here? Spurs got beat by the Grizzlies and are falling in the West.

I don't mean to step on anybody's toes here, but I'm a little confused as to why certain FAs signed with certain teams. David West was listed as wanting a lot of money and then signed for less. Brandon Roy was listed as wanting to win, but went to the Pacers (who don't seem to look like contenders at the moment).

Maybe I'm just bitter because I lost out on all FAs thus far.

David West one was a head scratcher especially with KG still on the Heat. Maybe it was the Chris Paul connection and a chance to win?

Maybe it's the best offer he got?

If Kees wants to respond, he can. West probably received few offers that offered a significant financial difference, and it probably wasn't clear that Parker was in the process of being moved. I'm not going to change any signings, I feel like Kees did a great job with free agency, but I think there are still several players left who can have a significant impact and who you should pursue. :D

Atlanta uses the Rashard Lewis Clause on Marvin Williams.

Ironically, Atlanta signs Rashard Lewis to a two year deal (BAE) 2mil + 2mil to replace Marvin as the backup-SF.

We do this because we save over 6 mil with that move.

What people fail to realize is that most of these FA's are signing to 80% of what they normally would. The hard cap is at 80%, and the soft and lux tax are near 80%, so players will get 80% of what they normally get in these games.

The reason Mo went to Minny was because of the starting spot. SA did not make it clear if TP was being moved, or who the starter was, and it is pretty consensus around the league that TP>Mo, and Minny did offer him the starting spot.

As for West, I believe that was his only offer (not 100% sure, but I think so) and it was a good one. He would take 6M per year in a normal league to player with 2 superstars, one being a good friend of his (Paul).

I shouldn't have to post these, but I also don't want this to become and issue so I did. FA's have taken their teams, so focus your attention to Warriorfan, because he is handling the next round.

Well Brandon Roy said that the Pacers GM is awesome and that these games never take the development of young players into account.

I was wondering how Dallas is allowed to sign players since he is over the max cap?

Are you allowed to go over max to resign your own player? I am confused what a max team salary is for if you can go over it. I understand that teams that started the game above the $80mil are hindered by this, but I honestly am unsure of the rule now.

Yes halfway down on discussion thread pg 3.
You can go over to sign your own players who you have bird rights on.

cool thanks, little unsure then of the reason for the cap, but i guess you gotta do something to offset the disadvantage of taking a team with the larger payroll
