-The Big 3 will all be playing around 36-40 MPG anyways, so that only leaves 2 full time positions to fill
-In past games and the NBA, the market size hasn't mattered much. In terms of population size, for instance, Miami is 19th in the league in NBA cities population, and they did the same thing in 2010 with their Big 3.

Plus Wade is the best player in the league that has a team with enough cap to sign a top guy, with only LeBron (no cap) and Dwight (FA) being generally considered more talented.

fyi, you do not have TPE and cap space, it is one or the other

I guess it's all boils down to whether one feel the Miami experiment was a success. A big 3 which some believe to be of not a good fit managed to reach the finals in their first try. Even if this NO big 3 reach the conference finals alone, i think that's a decent first season. How you view the experiment will decide your answers.

If it's a failure, than you would believe that big 3 are a non starter and that Portland should have resigned Deron Williams while Minnesota/LAC should have gotten Dwight.

Why Not Max deal?
1) By signing lower than max, Dwight left 10m on the table.
2) So far Dwight has earned $83m. If he took NO deal he would earn $146m, $156m if he had stayed in minnesota instead(4 years comparison). So in essence he give up 7% of earnings for a chance to win multiple rings.

Why NO?
D.WIll+ Wade + Howard + an existing role playing PF + cap space to probably grab an SF who can shoot some 3s + a 6th man. All depends how you view the miami experiment.

Why not MIN?
1) I didnt really like Boozer + Turkoglu overpaid status.
2) If they resign Gordon for at least $7m. That's $50m for at least 2 years for Howard + Boozer + Turkoglu + Gordon.
3) Currently around $17m on 6 other players under contract. 2 bench player in Taj Gibson + Courtney Lee looking for their first payday. assumption is that they'll make at least 7m total bringing up a total of $74m leaving minnesota with just MLE to add to their team (so long as below 80m) pretty much like NO.

Robin Lopez agreed to the offer of Orlando Magic:

Contract: 4 years, $33,537,280, fully guaranteed.

Year 1: $7,600,000
Year 2: $8,208,000 (8% increase)
Year 3: $8,864,640 (8% increase)
Year 4: $8,864,640 (player option)

He was RFA, so, i guess, the Bucks have 48 hours to match our offer. (Correct me if i'm wrong)
However, if we really get Robin, we would be fully satisfied with our front court, since Robin brings good defense and is young.

Damn. While I am sure it wouldn't have made much of a difference I never got around to putting through the complete song and dance with my offers for Deron Williams and Dwight Howard which I guess disqualified me. But damn, my offer was for way more money and would have worked out a sign and trade for the opportunity to pair one of them up with Danny Granger.

Bucks will not match. Can't afford to pay that much for a backup.

Dallas Mavericks have two announcements to make!

Image

Jason Kidd returns to Dallas; in a deal that will most likely see him end his career where it all began some 17 years ago.

Terms of the deal are a continuation of his last deal:

2012/13 - $8,650,000
2013/14 - $8,650,000 (Player Option)

Dallas are delighted to be bringing back Kidd, hoping a 3rd successive title will be on its way to Dallas.

Meanwhile...

Image

Jameer Nelson returns to Dallas!

2012/13 - $7,000,000
2013/14 - $7,000,000
2014/15 - $7,000,000
2015/16 - $7,000,000 (Team Option)

Jameer will hopefully go down as a fan favourite in Dallas, his streaky but excellent outside shooting and game which compliments Kidd's well, will see him act as 6th man for the franchise and eventually take over the reigns when Kidd steps down.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

KG has decided to resign with the Denver Nuggets!

Image

KG is still an elite defensive anchor, and along with Bogut forms one half of the best defensive frontcourt in the league. He can space the floor on offense with his efficient mid range jumper and bang in the post when he needs to. Welcome back KG.

Terms are as follows:
Kevin Garnett: $12,000,000/$12,000,000

What is with people in this game making embarrassingly overpriced offers for my restricted free agents. The last game Jason Thompson got a 72 million dollar offer and now Roy Hibbert gets a 52 million dollar offer. Anywayz, because there is crap else on the market the Pacers will match this horrid contract. I just find it amazing that the same guy who complains about the contract Robin Lopez got would then offer 21 million more to Roy Hibbert. I didn't realize an 6 points and 3 rebounds a game were worth so much more.

Philadelphia 76ers are delighted to announce the signing of...

Image

Jamison joins on a 2 year contract, as follows:

2012/13 - $4,600,000
2013/14 - $4,968,000 (Player option)

Jamison further strengthens our bench, as I look to build upon this young team's 5th seed in making a run further into the playoffs. His veteran presence will be a welcome addition to the squad. and we hope he will thrive in his final years as 6th man.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Gerald Wallace re-signs with Atlanta!

Image

Year 1: $16,000,000
Year 2: $16,000,000
Year 3: $16,000,000
Year 4: $16,000,000
Year 5: $16,000,000

We know that we are overpaying here, but with a lot of teams having capspace out there and being able to give him the max (and having interest in giving him the max) we had to give him a big contract.

Gerald Wallace was the best SF out there and is a main piece of our team.
