These next two picks are gonna have a Grizzly feel

Image

2012/13 Mike Conley Jr.

Ruthless defender and one of the most underrated PGs in the NBA. Can play off the ball, which is good for a team with James Harden on it. Good 3 point shooter. 9.9 win shares total, including 4.7 defensive (very good for a PG). All NBA Defensive second team. Can also obviously facilitate and play with the ball in his hands. 2.2 steals per game is also sweet.

Image

2012/13 Marc Gasol

Speaking of defense... The Defensive Player of the Year. 11.5 Win shares, a career high 5.4 of those defense. Memphis had a defensive rating of just 98 when he was on the floor. With Marc there to complete my big man rotation, I'll be well prepared whenever I have to face an imposing big man. Gasol fits well next to Rodman whenever Yao comes off the floor to rest (great jump-shot), and his game is versatile enough that I can play him at PF and go super big with Yao Ming at C.

The Memphis Grzzlies had the best defense in the league in 2012-13. Marc Gasol was the anchor of it, and Mike Conley was a big part of it.

One drafter mentioned the lack of bulk in the remaining options of the 5 position. I would have to disagree with the next pick I'm going to take. With the 82nd pick of the 90's to Now Fantasy Draft I select

'91 Mark Eaton

Dale Davis.

Defensive grit, another great rebounder, and enough flexibility to backup both of my big spots, again at a very economical FGA price.

With the 88th pick in the 90's to Now Fantasy Draft, ChicagoSportsFan21 selects...

Spoiler:
Dan Majerle-SG/SF-Phoenix Suns

Image

Majerle is a good 6th man coming off my bench as he's a solid defender (been on multiple all defensive teams) and can shoot 3 pointers like no other on the offensive end. He will provide quality minutes behind Dumars/Metta World Peace.

I don't need much from my center — I just need a big body. Oh, and I need him to rebound, preferably at an elite level. And protect the rim, also preferably at an elite level. In fact, with all the Hall of Fame centers in this game, strong defense is definitely a must. And we're gonna get out and run a lot, so it would be cool if he was really athletic so he could catch a bunch of alley oops. And he can't take very many shots since I'm already running low on FGAs. That's not too much to ask, is it?

The Brain-Dead Kennedys select DeAndre Jordan (year officially TBD, but 2014/15 seems like a no-brainer).

Was considering a couple guys but my pick became easier when Thunder Dan got selected. With the 91st pick, I select:

Image

2007/08 - James Posey
TS% - .587
OWS - 2.2
DWS - 4.0
OBPM - 0.5
DBPM - 2.4

He played a key role for 2 championship teams. A very good defender who was a strong 3 point shooter. Based on advanced metrics, he was a top 5 defender in 2007/08. Considering I'm going to be using 2007/08 Marcus Camby, that gives me 2 of the top 10 defenders from that year. Add that to Duncan, Manu, and Rondo, who were top 10 defenders in the years I'm choosing, I'll have an extremely good defensive unit with some very strong offensive players including peak T-Mac. Pretty happy with this team so far.

I will take Fisher since I was going to take Beverly but PMOTT likes to take the player on the top of my list. A solid backup pointguard who can hit the open 3 and is a tough defender.

90's to Now Fantasy Draft: THE DRAFT -- ATL Boy OTC

2010-11 Thabo Sefolosha

Just 4.2 FGA, but was an absolute defensive stopper. Elite mid range game and is a competent 3 point shooter.

With my pick I'm looking for one of the sexiest passers to ever play the game to go along with my Point God while also being a PnR partner. I'm also jealous of Dropping Dimes's roster pictures. Now to address both issues.
With my final selection in PMOTT3's 90's to Now draft I select

Boris Diaw (Year TBA)

Maybe it was those false allegations he had to deal with a couple years ago, but I can't believe this guy is still on the board. I gladly draft Alvin Robertson and add the perfect 3rd guard to my team.

I've been gambling on this guy falling for about 2 rounds now. I think the time has come.

I select Tony Allen. My perimeter has phenomenal shooting and the best (IMO) passing/playmaking in this game. All that's missing is a lockdown defender with a proven track record handling high end offensive stars on the biggest stage.

Tony Allen.
