At first I read Renaldo Balkman, which would have been a hilariously bad pick (and invalid as far as I'm aware...)

Just to clarify, our exception doesn't have to have won a MVP, correct?

Man am I glad to have my backcourt sorted out. Blackman was one of the top SGs of the 80s and a good defender as far as I'm aware, so he should fit nicely with Steph. I actually think a lot of fun can be had with the frontcourt players in this game, but the guards on a whole are pretty brutal.

Correct. But if you wanted to pick even a foreign MVP you'd have to use that exception.

For some strange reason when I quickly scrolled past CONFIDENCE on that picture, I read it as POLYNICE. I thought Fade had lost it.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Completely forgot about Jokic. It's weird how deep the center position is compared to the rest of the pool.

Thought very very hard about taking Jokic over Batum. One of my favorite players in the league rn

Yao was the other guy I considered instead of Gasol

It's close, but I'd give an edge to Gasol based on his ability to space the floor. The pool of international centers was pretty deep but it's thinning out in a hurry.

Yeah, Yao is comfortably ahead as a scorer but figured defense/intangibles/shooting moved the needle enough the other way.

we're slowly transitioning from the really solid, all-star or 1st team D guys to the okay but flawed category

I see a number of really nice pairs of international players, which makes me nervous. Add an exemption and watch out.

I thought long and hard about taking Yao but he just didn't seem like a great complement for Steph. They'd almost have to play two completely different styles.

Yeah i didn't take Yao cause i couldn't see him doing well in an offense centered around Wilkins, however, i'm not really thrilled with my calderon pick and feel I will regret it

I feel pretty good about my Manu/Porzingis pairing. There are 2 potential exceptions in particular that I think will work well, hopefully I can get one of them. Might be a while though...

AK-47 was the other player who I considered with my first round pick..figured Snake was going to take him. I thought long and hard about Drazen too in the second round..great 3 point shooter, but decided to stick with Ibaka with that premier defense/elite shot blocking ability (Porzingis was my back-up..just saw him go).

Lot of big men taken in the second round, interesting. I would love to get my pick in tonight!
