I personally didn’t think 2005 Shaq was worth a first rounder, but I do think your play given you picked him was to take Kobe. Shaq’s biggest asset is that he played with a lot of people, but that advantage is slightly wasted when you pick in the late first.

Thats okay. These degrees drafts are fun but they’ve never been the most balanced. That’s not what they’re for.

I originally thought I was cooked because Wade was going to Dr P and then Snake would have to take Dwight as BPA (although not sure in retrospect whether that would have happened).

I also assumed Ness would end up with Luka.

I was 100% going the Luka route, and then something similar to what you did but backwards (Flaco is going to take the guy I would have targetted next). But since P didn’t take Kobe, I had to go the Nash & Kobe route.

I think 80s to now seems too deep. I'd rather we allowed only 2 decades, not necessarily including the 20s.

Let's say I select Bird. I'm likely stuck in the 80s/90s for a big chunk of the draft. Similarly, let's say Dr P selects Jokic. He's likely stuck in the 10s/20s for a big chunk of the draft. In this scenario, me and Dr P would be drafting in separate bubbles.

Yeah, I'm not winning this.

I don't see a clear path to getting a third MVP level guy here. Unfortunate but it is what it is.

I originally didn't really want Lebron/Wade because it's not an easy pair to add a third guy to. And that's definitely proving itself out here.

Nah, I probably would have done the Danny Green/Joel Embiid pivot had Wade been gone.

I thought thats what you would have done honestly.

I think Embiid/Lebron is superior to Wade/Lebron.

But Maybe I am in the minority there.

I considered the notion that having Lebron might assuage the concerns but still decided to go with a guy who has a proven track record both as a playoff scorer and as a partner to Lebron.

Flaco’s team is extremely talented but he may take a hit due to the history all four of his star players have as playoff scorers.

Thats my plan of trying to point that out if at some point I was put up against him.

It's not really Wade vs Embiid. You chose Wade/Gasol over Harden/Embiid because I think you could've secured both of them together

** Edit: Actually I'm incorrect. Ardee could've snatched Harden. But it was still a good probability move to secure both
