To me, it just seems pretty silly, and frankly illogical, that in a team specific draft like this a guy who barely plays 30 games for the team in question can be still be eligible to be drafted, while a guy who plays for one team and plays 40 games for that team isn't.
Am I really the only one who sees how illogical this is?
I think it's a little strange- these guys are elligable to be drafted BECAUSE they missed over half of the season in the time leading up to the draft. It's not because they played half of the season with their new team. It's because they DIDN'T play for their original team.
I don't really see a reason to change this honestly. Luka 25' and Butler 25' are at one end of this rule, but on the other end - suppose there's a guy who played 76 games in a 82 games season, 40 for one team, and 36 for the other. If you require that he'll play 50% of the total games in the season, then you basically say he's whole season cannot be picked (assuming we play a franchise based draft).
Peja 2006 for example - don't see why this shouldn't be an eligible Indy season.
I don't feel all that strongly about it either way I guess.
