Kidd was the starter pick regardless but I might have snagged Porter for the bench (Spurs version) had I remembered.

There’s an okay backup plan to him still on the board.

I’m glad I resisted the temptation to take Billups at the top of round 3- he’d have been great with Jimmy/PG and is a player right up my alley in a general sense too.

Waiting on a point guard absolutely was the correct play here.

I think I grabbed Kidd at the right time though. His Dallas all star season saves some FGA for a terrific bench in this and I needed his playmaking to pair with McAdoo more than I needed scoring since I think Bob, Paul, and Jimmy are more than sufficient a core in that regard.
