The Portland Trailblazers have empowered quite the youth movement over the past several years. Oden looks to be a fixture in the post and Roy could be a nice point wing player for their franchise. The Blazers may seem best served by condensing their talent and upgrading at the SF and/or PG slots.

Devise a plan that improves Portland's 3 and/or 1 slots while not hurting their future too much. Please note that Oden and Roy are extremely valuable and Aldridge and Bayless are very high commodities.

Port-GS
Portland Out: frye, outlaw, rodriguez
in: jackson, watson, dowell
Why? First off, I don't think Portland will go after a PG since IMO they are very high on bayless. So, I decided to look for a SF. Portland needs a SF that can play solid D and who can stretch the floor by hitting the 3, jackson is a fairly decent shot from behind the arc, and he's a solid defensive player. Portland keeps their core of bayless, roy, fernandez, webster, LMA, oden, and their more valuable veterans in blakes and pryzbilla. Portland does trade 3 young players but they are replaceable. Diogu is there to take away frye's minutes, watson will be the 3rd PG this year instead of rodriguez and next year they could bring koponen over to be the 3rd PG, and outlaw will be replaced with jackson. Portland is a lot better of a team right now, and they don't sacrifice anything from their future team.

GS out: jackson, watson, dowell
in: frye, outlaw, rodriguez
Why? They trade a 30 year old jackson (who probably isn't part of their future plans) for 3 young players that could play significant minutes (and if need be, provide valuable trading pieces come the trade deadline)

Until Ellis is back

Now that the season is under way it's obvious the kings aren't going anywhere. Miller and Moore both have positive value to teams, but no value to the kings and are even standing in the way of younger players developing. With this in mind and an eye on the future they make the following deal.

Sacto out: Miller, Moore 17,159,480
Sacto in: Gomes, West S/T, Thomas, Pecherov, Booth 17,958,453
Miller and Moore are both counterproductive to the cause of rebuilding, but they still have positive value, so shipping them out optimizes their assets. Gomes is a SF/PF with some talent and a great contract that can replace Garcia since the extension talks aren't going so well. West gives them a nice backup PG to Beno. With his shorter contract they have the ability to keep him off their cap in 2010. Thomas and Pecherov slide into backup roles behind Hawes.

Minn out: Gomes, Madsen, McCants, Booth 9,897,659
Minn in: Miller 11,375,000
Now more than even with Collins down, the Wolves need a Center. Jefferson shouldn't be relied upon to play out of position forever. Miller not only gives them a true center, but his jumpshot and passing will be an excellent mentoring tool for Love and a great fit next to Jefferson.

Cle out: West S/T ~15m/3years (TO 3rd year), Pavs 9,500,000
Cle in: McCants, Moore, Madsen 11,034,606
With Mo Williams and Gibson on board, resigning West isn't a priority, but if they can facilitate his signing for some assets, more power to them. Moore gives them the extra big they're obviously in need of and McCants gives them a deadeye SG to put next to LBJ. Madsen...well, Madsen can cheerlead with the best of them.

Was out: Thomas, Pecherov 8,310,920
Was in: Pavlovic 4,500,000
Haywood and Blatche are more than enough for Washington's Center rotation. With Thomas burning a hole in the coach's pocket they offload him for something they do need: a backup SF with some D and a shot. Pavs' last year isn't guaranteed, meaning he is effectively an expiring.

^Edited to include salary configurations. A few notes to the judges: the insignificant players (Madsen, Booth can be moved around a bit as the CBA allows, such as Booth going to Washington. Just so you're aware that I am thinking of that. Neither Madsen nor Booth will look to see a lot of playing time, so if one or both was routed to WAS as extra insurance and to alleviate someone else's salary concerns that is more than acceptable.

What are the Mavs going to do next season? They have an over the hill PG, another guard locked up to a long term deal, and a wing who's trading value went down after his drug allegations and poor playoff performance.

Devise a plan that could place the Mavs in a win-now situation. Nowitzki is very highly valued as is Brandon Bass.

Okay This is going to be very tough but i will do my best.....
Only 2 Trades......
I will give my reasons why the other team does the trade and then i will give the reasons why dallas does them at the very end.

Trade 1:

Denver Gets: Eric Dampier, Josh Howard, and Jerry Stackhouse
Dallas Gets: Allen Iverson, NeNe

I know I know its a trade i used before, but i feel this really does help both teams.....

Denver pairs Josh Howard and Carmelo Anthony together and rids them a three commitment to NeNe.....Iverson could (and probably will) walk for nothing at the end of this year so they still get something out of it. Dampier can hold his own in the west and is a good center to hold down the fort with Camby gone. Stack is a vet leader who would fit in well with Karls system.

Trade 2:

Chicago Gets: Jason Terry, Eddie Jones, Cash, 2 second round picks
Dallas Gets: Kirk Hinrich, Cedric Simmons

Chicago does this for only one reason....Scoring....with ben gordon in limbo.... i dont think he'll resign... there gonna need someone to score....so JET could easily be a 20 to 22 point scorer on the bulls. Jason Terry's Contract and Kirk Hinrich Contract are very similar, both got 3 more years, except Jets is just a couple million smaller so it saves them a little bit of money. Jet with a fresh start and being in the east for a change could do him well...... eddie jones is a good veteran expiring.

Final Result.

Kidd, Hinrich, Berea
Iverson, Green
George, Singleton, Wright
Dirk, Bass
Diop, Nene, Simmons

Dallas will rely on a three gaurd rotation all year.....with hinrich backing up both kidd and iverson. Hinrich would easily win 6th man of the year if it werent for ginobili. They could even go real small and play kidd, iverson, and hinrich together for stretchs. Green would get spair minutes along with berea. Oh, and did i forget to mention, if it dont work out... iverson and kidd egual 42 million dollars in expirings this year...hinrich also reaplaces the "OVER the hill kidd"....in the future

The small forward spot looks week on paper.... but remember when the lakers had george? you always need a guy to do the dirty work.... he can defend better than average and shoot the three.... with iverson and dirk you wont really need much scoring just a guy to kick to for three....singleton and wright would come in ocassionaly for Defensive purposes only....

The power forward spot is prolly one of the best "starter and backup" combo in the league. Dirk is top 10 player and Bass is a good hustling back up....

Diop slides into the starting center spot with Damp gone... Hes getting paid basically starter money so he starts.... Carlise will light a fire under his *** like hes done with previous underachieving big men hes coached.... NeNe will finally be healthy and be the scoring center of the bench they need. SImmons is a young big who was oncea lotto pick... maybe he finally becomes something....

All in all... this team has a real shot at a title, its has everything a championship teams need....

a foursome of kidd, iverson, dirk, and hinrich with good role players is just scary to think about....

anyways i just worked a 14 hours night shift... hopefully i move on to the next round.... thanks.

The New Orleans Hornets are coming off a fresh run in the playoffs last season. It seems that in order for them to pick it up a notch, they may need just a little more scoring prowess from their wing slots.

Devise a plan which upgrades the Hornets' wing, specifically SG slot and does not hurt their future. The deal should place them in contention.

Chris Paul is as close to off-limits as it comes. David West and Chandler are highly valuable commodities.

3 Team 5 player , 1 pick deal

NO Trades :
Morris Peterson
Mike James
Rasual Butler
2009 1st Round Pick

NO Gets :
Vince Carter
Charlie Bell

Why for NO : Because they get a massive talent upgrade. They trade three bench players for an impact player . Vince is that consistent perimeter scorer that they have been in dire need of. With Paul's court vision and passing ability , Carter should get many wide open threes and many slashing opportunities , and it seems like playing ona winning team can really rejuvenate him . When motivated , Carter is dangerous . His defensive shortcomings would be countered by Posey in the starting line- up , and Peja can move to the bench and be the go to guy of the second unit. this would really pay dividends in the playoffs , as there would be less pressure for him to perform , and we all know what pressure can do to Peja's jumper. Bell replaces James as the back-up PG , and he brings a solid offensive arsenal , and a very tough defensive mentality as well . He's also versatile enough to play with Paul when necessary . The pick they trade is inconsequential as they proved this season that they are not interested in spending slary on players that cant help them win now .

C - Chandler / Ely / Armstrong
PF - West / Wright / Bowen
SF - Posey / Stojakovic
SG - Carter / Brown
PG - Paul / Bell

NJ Trades :
Vince Carter

NJ Gets :
Mike James
Morris Peterson
NO 2009 First round pick

Why for NJ : They continue the all out rebuild movement . They shave even more money off of their 2010 salary cap and also add a first round pick . ( and they get a 3 million dollar trade exception )

C - Boone / Lopez / Swift
PF - Yi / Williams / Anderson
SF - Simmons / Najera / Hayes
SG - Peterson / CDR / Hassell
PG - Harris / Dooling / James

MIL Trades :
Charlie Bell

MIL Gets :
Rasual Butler

Why for MIL : Because Butler's deal is over after next season and Bell's is for an additional two years . Thats a savings of 7 to 8 mil for MIL , which is always a plus , especially when your talking about the fourth string point guard , who doesnt even want to be a Buck .

C - Bogut / Elson / Gadzuric
PF - Villanueva / Allen / Mbah a Moute
SF - Jefferson / Alexander / Butler
SG - Redd / Griffin
PG - Ridnour / Sessions / Lue / Jones

The Charlotte Bobcats have MJ in the FO and LB at the helm. They mean business. They currently have somewhat of a log jam at the wing slots with Wallace, J-Rich, Morrison, and Carroll. They also happen to have 2 point guards who may each eventually warrant a starting job.

Devise a plan that puts the Bobcats in better contention of the playoffs and doesn't hurt their youth movement too much. Emeka Okafor and DJ Augustine are valuable commodities.

First trade:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

CHA trades: Gerald Wallace, Sean May
CHA receives: Vince Carter

NJ trades: Vince Carter
NJ receives: Travis Outlaw, Raef LaFrentz, Rudy Fernandez

POR trades: Travis Outlaw, Raef LaFrentz, Rudy Fernandez
POR receives: Gerald Wallace, Sean May

CHA does this because they get a lethal scorer in Vince Carter. Wallace is too injury prone, and with the added scoring in Vince Carter, they will be able to put just as much points on the board then anyone else.

NJ does this because they get a huge expiring, and two very young talents. Outlaw and Fernandez are two great pieces to their future.

POR does this because they get a young player who can still "win now" (which is basically where they are as a franchise)

Trade #2
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

CHA trades: Matt Carroll, Jermearo Davidson
CHA receives: Dan Gadzuric, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute

MIL trades: Dan Gadzuric, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
MIL receives: Matt Carroll, Jermearo Davidson

CHA does this so they get a creditable backup center, along with a very talented young defender in A Moute.

MIL does this so they can have some good scoring off the bench, along with a talented PF in Davidson.

CHA previous lineup:
PG: Raymond Felton/DJ Augustin
SG: Jason Richardson/Matt Carroll/Shannon Brown
SF: Gerald Wallace/Adam Morrison/Jared Dudley
PF: Emeka Okafor/Sean May
C: Nazr Mohammed/A.Ajinca

CHA lineup now:
PG: Raymond Felton/DJ Augustin
SG: Jason Richardson/Shannon Brown
SF: Vince Carter/Jared Dudley/Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
PF: Emeka Okafor/A. Ajinca/Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
C: Nazr Mohammed/Dan Gadzuric

the team now has two lethal scorers and more depth at center. they are clearly in a "win now" mode, who can make the playoffs in the east.

The Kings are looking towards a youth movement but still have one vet they can't seem to unload, Brad Miller.

Devise a plan that helps the Kings get younger, namely by unloading Miller and possibly upgrading the Center position and perhaps the PG and SF positions as well.

Kevin Martin and Thompson are high commodities.

Trade ID 4768350]

Miller, Jackson and Moore for Outlaw, Pryzbilla, Rodriguez and LaFranz

Why for Portland?
Outlaw has been vocal about getting a starting role and Porland just added Bayless, Fernandez and Batum in the line-up. This trade open's up playing time for Batum and Fernandez to develop. This trade also reinforces the Portland frontcourt especially on recent injury to Channing Frye. Miller and Moore will be a good mentor to Oden and Aldrige.

Blake / Bayless / Jackson
Roy / Fernandez
Webster / Batum
Aldrige / Moore / Frye (injured)
Oden / Miller

Why for Sacramento?
Pryzbilla is not exactly a promising center but a good one defensively. Kings is high on Hawes as its future center and Pryz can provide quality minutes off the bench and mayeven start alongside Hawes. Outlaw can start in Sacramento.

Udrih (32) / Salmons (8) / Garcia (8)
Martin (34) / Garcia (14)
Outlaw (30) / Salmons (18)
Hawes (12) / Thompson (18) / Williams (18)
Pryzbilla (28) / Hawes (20)

The Cavs are close to contention. They may already be there in fact. Cleveland also should be wary of when LBJ becomes an FA and if they can support his decision to stay in Cleveland with a nice cast.

Place the Cavs in further contention mode. They have many soon to be expiring deals which could be used. Note that their biggest needs could be an athletic or post PF and a shooter at the 2 that can help LBJ with some scoring.

LeBron is off limits and Mo Williams is probably staying in Cleveland.

Cleveland trade: Szczerbiak, Varejao, Pavlovic, 2009 1st round pick
Cleveland receive: Odom, McCants, Cardinal

Lakers trade: Odom, Mihm
Lakers receive: Szczerbiak, Varejao

Minni trade: MaCants, Cardinal
Minni receive: Pavlovic, Mihm

Why for Cleveland:
Williams/McCants/LBJ/Odom/Z
This fulfill the aim of the trade: get a lost post PF (Odom) and a SG who can shoot (McCants, whose 3P% is 40% last season and average 14.9 PPG, better than all SGs on Cleveland). Odom, McCants and Cardinal's contract ends on or before 2010, which can let Cleveland re-sign LBJ. Off the bench they have Big Ben, West, Gibson and Hickson, which forms a contending team on the East.

Why for Lakers:
Fisher/Kobe/Wally/Gasol/Bynum
Odom was inconsistent in the Lakers and doesn't really fit the triangle. So it's obvious that thet need some change. Apparently Wally may be a little downgrade of Odom, but when we look at their per 48 stats, we can see that Wally got 23.8 points per48 while Odom just got 18 pp48. So Wally could be a better option for the Lakers. Also, Varaejo is a much better upgrade than Mihm, and can be the 1st big man out of the bench for Lakers.

Why for Minni:
Foye/Miller/Gomes/Love/Jefferson
This is actually a change in their bench. Pavlovic is a better defender than McCants. Offensively he had a disappointing performance last season, but he actually could score in the 06-07 season, especially in terms of his 3P% (0.405). So Pavlovic replacing McCants could bring some change for the team. Mihm could backup Jefferson at 5, in which they currently just have Madson, Booth and J.Collins at that position. The first round pick they got could help them further rebuild.

You ever stare a complex math problem, and spend 10 minutes trying to solve it one way, when you know there are other methods and options to pursue, but you're already so time-committed to the first way that you go ahead and finish it out the way you started?

Yeah, um... I have a feeling I may be saying congratulations to randomhero423 in the near future. Anyway, here it is:

Place the Cavs in further contention mode. They have many soon to be expiring deals which could be used. Note that their biggest needs could be an athletic or post PF and a shooter at the 2 that can help LBJ with some scoring.

Cleveland
In: Charlie Villanueva, Daequan Cook, Mark Blount
Out: Ben Wallace
I'm following the terms of the assignment here - "an athletic PF and a shooter at the 2" - though personally I would have been looking for a strong defensive wing to compensate for Mo Williams' defensive weaknesses and protect LeBron on the defensive end. Villanueva fills the PF bill nicely, and Cook is a shooter with potential. And Blount's contract is no longer than Wallace's; Cleveland actually saves a bit of money on this deal.
Ilgauskas / Varejao / Blount
Villanueva / Varejao / Hickson
LBJ / Szczerbiak
West / Szczerbiak / Cook
Williams / Gibson / West

Miami
In: Ben Wallace, Charlie Bell
Out: Udonis Haslem, Daequan Cook, Mark Blount
The Heat fill their two biggest positional needs; Wallace still looks awfully good compared to Mark Blount, and Bell is a guy they went after a year ago.
starters: Wallace / Beasley / Marion / Wade / Bell
bench: many, many stiffs

Milwaukee
In: Udonis Haslem
Out: Charlie Villanueva, Charlie Bell
They need a tough, defensive-oriented PF (hell, they need a tough, defensive-oriented anything), and Haslem fills the bill, at the cost of Villanueva. Bell is no longer needed, given their other seventeen PG's, and they get out from under several additional years of salary.
Bogut / Gadzuric
Haslem / M. Allen / Alexander
Jefferson / Alexander
Redd / D. Jones
Ridnour / Sessions / Lue

CHA and POR

CHA

trades:
Raymond Relton
Gerald Wallace
future 2nd round pick

POR

trades:

Martell Webster
Travil Outlaw
Steve Blake
Channing Frye
Petteri Koponen

Why Charlotte does this.

They need more players who can actually play. Right now Matt Carroll is in the rotation, that should say something about their bench. From this trade, they get young, 4 rotational players each at different positions. Webster can fill it up from the perimeter, still young. Same goes for Outlaw and Frye, both can play and still young. This team has a good chance of winning under Coach Brown.
Plus they get a talented player in Koponen, who might turn out to be better than most think.

Okafor / Mohammed
Frye / May
Outlaw / Dudley / Morrison
Richardson / Webster / Carroll
Augustin / Blake / Koponen

Why Portland does this.

Portland receives the best player out of the deal, Wallace can play both sides of the court and automatically makes them better on the defensive side. he can guard their best perimeter player while Roy can guard the other. Felton is better than Blake, and would get a lot of PT at the 1, along with Bayless. He doesn`t shoot a good % but is able to distribute the ball and is still young, and would be a good compliment to Bayless and Roy.

Oden / Przybilla / LaFrentz
Aldridge / Diogu
Wallace / Batum
Roy / Fernandez
Felton / Bayless / Rodriguez

The Miami Heat seem a solid PG and Center away from making some noise in the East. There PG position should be of most concern. They have a nice slated trio in D-Wade, Beasley, and Marion.

Devise a plan that gives that improves the Heat's PG position and if you can as well possibly add depth to their 5 slot. Beasley and Wade are highly valued commodities.

miami sends: udonis haslem, mark blount, mario chalmers

miami receives: darko milicic, javaris crittenton, saer sene

why? get a good defensive center with a two yr deal, a better pg prospect with nba experience, a big body to fill up the frontcourt depth.

crittenton/wade/marion/beasley/milicic

memphis sends: darko milicic, javaris crittenton

memphis receives: udonis haslem, mark blount

get a good pf that compliments their new center, m. gasol. add depth up front while clearing guard glut.

The Boston Celtics are fresh off a title, but would like to keep their run at the top for a longer time. KG and Pierce are in the thick of their prime, but Ray Allen did show some signs of slowing down last season.

Devise a plan that gets Boston younger and deeper so they contend for years to come. KG and PP are almost off limits.

Man, this was a lot harder than I expected. Initially I did not want to break up the big 3 - Allen included, but its near impossible to make a trade without him involved as no one else makes enough money to bring in a half way decent player through a trade. Anyway, I did my best, still some flaws in it, but it was the best I could do in the little time that I had(internet cut off last Tuesday).

Boston Trades:
Ray Allen
Brian Scalabrine
Eddie House

Boston Receives:

Andres Nocioni
Dorell Wright
Larry Hughes
Cedric Simmons

Why for Boston?

The main reason I think Boston would do this trade is the fact they lost James Posey. They need that tough, physical SF that can replace him in their defense and they get that with Andres Nocioni. Aside from that, they also get a nice young player in Dorell Wright and a project in Cedric Simmons. Larry Hughes is a decent enough replacement for Ray Allen and should thrive in the Celtic offense.

Perkins
Garnett
Nocioni
Pierce
Rondo

Chicago Trades:

Kirk Hinrich
Cedric Simmons
Larry Hughes
Andres Nocioni

Chicago Receives:

Ray Allen
Udonis Haslem
Marcus Banks
Brian Scalabrine

Why for Chicago?
Not many teams are willing to take on Ray Allen with his age and salary as a factor, but Chicago's youth movement has yet to work. They need a veteran leader who can take the last second shot and lead the younger guys to victories. Chicago has been on the brink of turning their franchise back around for some years now but have only disappointed. Ray Allen brings the leadership that they need so badly. With Ben Gordon as good as gone they have found a good replacement while dumping Larry Hughes and Andres Nocioni in the process. Nocioni is a good player, but overpayed for the role he plays with the Bulls with not much future with Deng ahead of him. They also bring in Haslem to bring interior toughness to the team. Banks contract isn't pretty, but he is a good defender to get some minutes off the bench behind Rose.

Noah
Haslem
Deng
Allen
Rose

Miami Trades:
Udonis Haslem
Dorell Wright
Marcus Banks

Miami Receives:

Kirk Hinrich
Eddie House

Why for Miami?

They finally find the PG they need in Hinrich. They also get rid of Banks contract in the process and find a backup PG who can hit the 3 and spread the floor for Wade and Beasley to thrive. They have to give up a nice young player in Wright, but with the salary dump and filling a huge need they should make due. Haslem is a great player for the Heat, but its just not clear what his role is going to be with Beasley going to hog up a lot of minutes.

Blount
Beasley
Marion
Wade
Hinrich

Best of luck Bryant, I have a feeling you're going to win this one.

Miami gets a good center that actually has some low-post presence to compliment Blount’s more perimeter oriented style. Daniels has a good grasp of the fundamentals of basketball, and would be a good compliment to all the players for the Heat, he averages about 5 assists per game and would be a much better player than Banks at the Point Guard position (especially with Quinn as their backup).

The Grizzlies have invested heavily this off-season in young centers. Milicic is a decent player, but eats minutes away from the younger centers—Haslem will have a roll on this team. Cook is a good swing man that replaces a player in a position where Memphis has a glut of players.

Milicic will give Haywood a good backup, as well as serve as an enforcer in the paint. The down-grade of Daniels to Banks is not enough to make this trade unbalanced. Banks could become a good starting point guard, and is already an OK backup (although not worth 4 million).

I am sure that some teams could add a little more to this trade if that were deemed necessary, but I feel that as-is this trade fills the needs of many teams. Miami gets depth at center, and at point guard, Memphis rids themselves of log-jams at two positions while retaining their most valuable players, and Washington improves their bench without giving up any players key to their system.

1. skorff26 vs. 8. o.thorpe
-I don't love Jacko in a Blazers uni and honestly don't see the Portland FO loving the idea. Portland had erased the jail blazers image and getting Jackson back doesn't help matters for their PR.

As for a personal change. Jackson doesn't seem to be the greatest fit in that system. He could work, but you have Portland giving up too much for him. Jackson seems more of a product of being in Nellie' system than anything else. Portland can get a better fit for their 3 slot with the guys you have them giving up.

OtisThorpe,
-Does Charlotte love this idea?
They have J-Rich so obtaining Outlaw is painfully redundant. Getting Webster is nice, but he too is young and will need to compete for PT with shooters such as Carroll and Morrison. Charlotte would have to consider this deal though since it does help their future. They get a little worse but get younger which is what they should be doing.

Thorpe, if you added a 3 way deal that consolidated the Bobcats wing depth, you would have been money. I think talent wise and future wise the Cats may not love this idea, but it could be the best thing for them going forward.

As for Portland, this deal makes them better overall. They suffice their 2 biggest needs, unload expendable players and could become a force in the conference.

Vote goes to OtisThorpe

2. CellarDoor vs. 7. nba_addict

CD,

I can't see Minny doing your deal. Yes the Wolves need a center, but they really need a shot blocking 5 more than anything else. Miller may be similar enough to Love that it could hinder his PT and make this deal not worth while altogether. Dealing Miller to a veteran team would make more sense than one trying to rebuild that doesn't need that type of center over all.

nba_addict,

Portland will not pay that much to have Miller as a backup mentor. They can get a lot more with the package they are dealing and are set at the 5 slot. It's way too good for Sacto going forward.

In the end Cellar Door did compose a deal that Minny would perhaps consider since it is true that they need a center alongside big Al.

2. ecuhus1981 vs. 7. randomhero423

randomher423,

Not a terrible attempt. You do improve the Bobcats talent wise by acquiring VC. I am just not sure if he'd mesh well with J-Rich. The other teams involved do consider the deal. NJ gets a plethora of depth and youth and Portland gets a guy who can fit in their system.

ecuhus1981,

When I first saw the aspects of your deal (4 teams etc) I thought there was no way you could pull it off. After reviewing it though, I actually like it. Utah really suffices all of their weaknesses in one fell swoop and they deal someone they don't really use the right way in AK47. They get a nice backup PG, defensive minded big, and a solid defensive minded 3 who can hit the open shot in Battier.

Battier also doesn't fit too well in Houston in my mind with Artest there now. I think the Rockets would be inclined to say yes to getting Carroll and a pick for him. That is quite nice value.

The Wiz now have a plethora of interesting options in this deal. AK47 can be a solid 4 for them and can post a little on the block. The move also allows Arenas to see more time at the 2.

Finally the Bobcats perhaps get the best overall player in the deal. Adding Jamison to that group places the Cats in contention for a playoff spot and perhaps the division.

Great Job!
