Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
I'd like to second Cash's offer, and I would be more than happy to help run and let someone take over my team. I think four commishes, especially when they're in the game, is a recipe for disaster. Even if this trade gets shot down a second time there is the potential for something throughout the entire game. I really think that even if it bogs it down we should have the public veto system. It's annoying in some ways, but with proper restrictions (think NFL style replay) where you only have a certain number of vetoes, but you only lose one of your veto votes if you attempt to veto and it doesn't happen. This will hopefully make the GMs a bit more wary of using their vetoes knowing they could run out if they're used frivolously.

Felton wasn't part of our long term plans, so he had to go while his value is high. Lee will play lots of minutes for us. Also we are very happy to see Nazr traded. Duhon and Collins will assume the roles as backup PG.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
I think the request for a veto should be able to be made by any player within the game, including commishs of course. Trades therefore shouldn't be approved for at least 12 hours if not a 24 hour period. However the actual voting as to vetoing a trade, or not, would be done only by the commishs, unless a commish is involved in the trade. As far as the four commish thing goes, it would be smarter for a 3 or 5 panel due to a majority vote. Otherwise someone like Loserx, or Kingz if they wanted to come back and help out or run it. I think also this game shouldn't continue until all roster posts are up. This little break would allow for some of this minor issues to be resolved so when we start up again it works smoothly.
Man, we talkin' bout practice

Everybody: I've reviewed all of the posts about trades being approved and vetoed. My view is that so far we've had a couple of close calls approved, giving the benefit of the doubt to owners as we should, and one lopsided trade (which involved a commissioner) vetoed. I think that this is about right, but would welcome your feedback - preferably by e-mail to all four commissioners rather than by posting.
And, that being said: if anybody can find a reliable person who does not have a team, and who is willing to do the work of running the league, I for one would be thrilled. And I will go back to the task of keeping the draft picks thread up to date, which is what I originally volunteered for.
I think I glossed over this post somehow. Stern, who are the 4 commisioners? LBJ, you, Zong and who?

Ummm, it is not just Haslem, Rip Hamilton(the main piece) as well as 3 draft picks are also going to Atlanta.
One can actually debate who won this deal...
That is a sign of a fair trade for both parties.

What about if its only a public vote if a commissioner is involved in a trade?

Maybe we can rope in Cowology or loserX. They both have a good feel for what is fair or not fair in a trade as well as being pretty unbiased in their opinions.

Neither have the time to commit to it. They'd be a nice third party arbiter or sorts though in extreme circumstances.
As to Granger's idea: it seems to me that there's still a lot of wiggle room for someone who's rather savvy. Perhaps they want a specific player, so they're willing to allow a trade that would otherwise be seen as unfair, so that they can take advantage of a followup trade. It's certainly an improvement though.

I decline both trades that was proposed to me. Im a fair guy and it wouldnt be fair to accept one trade over a guy who just made me anotehr one.

Dallas agrees to this, are sad to lose JKidd but arew happy to cut salary and retain an expiring in Wally. JJ Jickson and a 2010 are nice additions, and will look to shop Zydrunas now.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
The Grizzlies and Thunder have agreed to a deal:
Thunder trade/Grizzlies receive:
Chris Wilcox $6,750,000
Damien Wilkins $3,100,000
Johan Petro $1,939,893
Total: $11,789,9838 x 1.25= $14,737,366 +$100,000= $14,837,366
Grizzlies trade/ Thunder receive:
Darko Milicic $7,020,000
Marko Jaric $6,575,000
Darrell Arthur $977,160
Total: $14,572,160
Math works.
The Grizzlies accept. Although we lose our only proven center and a very good prospect, we feel that Petro will do good in an up-tempo system and that Wilkins will be an important player off the bench. Wilcox will be our new starting power forward.

This is a tough decision to make. I really like David Lee and am loathe to deal him despite the fact that I wind up dealing him in every single fantasy league type thing I play as the Knicks. He's just my best asset and point guard is my teams biggest need. Felton averaged 14.4 points 7.4 assists and a steal a game. I think he has the potential to be better and by making this deal I am taking a huge chance that he will. But even if he doesn't improve as a Knick fan I am more than content to have a point guard putting up those numbers. I also get Nazr Muhammed who'll be a useful stop gap if he isn't subsiquentally traded, I dump a free agent acquisition I wasn't keen on and kept Malik Rose's expiring contract for future trades.

The Pacers accept, we hate to lose Jack, but we needed to get rid of Claxton's contract and we believe Luther Head will fit in great with his 3 point shooting.

Thunder agree. I know it hurts to take on Jaric's 3 year deal, but he brings a bit of versatility being able to play PG, SF, SG. I think Arthur will fit very nicely here in Oklahoma. He gives us a post presence we lack with shooters like Durant. I think the 2 will compliment very well. Darko gives me a starting center to replace Wilcox.

Re: GM a team part 4 trades and transactions thread
I support the idea of having only commissioners who arent in the game, this way, no backdoor/eyebrow-raising policies can be struck like the one LBJ4MVP23 pulled. Commissioner vetoes are also more safer than public vetoes, as they are most impartial towards each GM.
However, any trade that needs to be processed should take at least 8-12 hours.
