oh and 13 teams makes the playoffs overly confusing. Keep 12 IMO. Replace the ballboy with blackice as he's more likely to be active

Correction, I think that Nuggets should be on there instead of the Blazers.

I think it's too even to call between the two but I think that Melo should be given the nod since the Nuggz are the much better team and should be represented here.

lol didn't mean to pick on you or anything but the track record of ballboys in terms of fizzling out while the draft's on is not good.

I actually think that Billups is much more important in a game like this than any other Denver player.

You wouldn't be able to have your boy if there are no protections.

The 1996 draft doesn't exist in this game.

Kevin Garnett would also not exist in that format.

IMO we should have protections. Cellar/gremz and the scumbag should decide on which 12 teams are going to be used. Then a random number generator should be used to split up the teams. After that, each team owner should select the player they're going to keep.

Lakers: Kobe
Cavs: Lebron
Magic: Dwight
Heat: Wade
Hornets: CP3
Spurs: Duncan
Celtics: Garnett
Rockets: Yao
Denver: Billups
Utah: D-Will
Dallas: Dirk
Blazers: Roy

This would be my list. I'm confused by the lists above as they feature Bosh and the Raptors, since they weren't in the playoffs I'm not sure I'd like them in.

If people would rather the Raptors be allowed in, then perhaps all teams should be eligible maybe?

I'm cool with that list. Please delegate teams so we can start the drafting ASAP.

Sounds cool am I in though?
The ballboy was the last person to sign up so I could replace him (sorry poops) or we could do 13.
I signed up and I'd be active, trust me.

Dear God. one night out and the thing explodes. I don't know how I missed you BlackIce, I swear I had you on that post initially. In that case, tclg would be the odd man out.

Regarding player protections, I would say let people pick whatever team they'd like rather than getting a finite list. If the last person is picking and wants Roy and we restricted them to the Nuggets I'd find that to be a bit of a pain. I can throw out an RNG for the pick sequence if you'd like. I'm a little concerned with the Lebron/Duncan Lebron/Wade sorts of combos though.

so how about the judges set the choice order based on the top picks each player has in the draft. Some players clearly have a very weak set of top draft picks [i.e. Mascot] and so to avoid the lebron/duncan sort of things happening they should be allowed to choose their franchise first [I mean, choosing a franchise is just basically choosing the player they want to build around. This COULD end up being subjective but imo is more likely to make this fairer.

That's probably best. If Vintage, Gremz and I each vote it should come out fairly close. I'm going to restrict my list to playoff teams similar to Gremz, but since it's a win-now competition, I'm going to bump Dwight down some.
Lebron
Kobe
Wade
Duncan
CP3
Dwight
Garnett
Yao
DWill
Dirk
Billups
Roy

Those last three are tough because they're all pretty similar in terms of talent, but I'm pretty sure of my first 9.

I misread your post initially Maverick/Hydro/KGB. I'm cool with either method. If someone has the first pick and want's Brandon Roy (I'm looking at you, CD-blazer), then so be it.

why not just do a random thing for the first round so that anyone can pick any player from any draft class instead of having teams at all

Round 1 - Random (any year)
Round 2 - 97
Round 3 - 98
Round 4 - 99
Round 5 - etc..

That's three ideas. I'm in agreement with a draft order for the team/random draft, but I'll wait to announce it until we decide which way to go.

Do you guys want essentially an expansion draft with a completely open pool, or do you want teams where you keep your choice of a player from the team? In my opinion it's splitting hairs to differentiate, so I'm not overly in favor or opposed to either method.
