Fair enough. Would a swap of second rounders even it out a little? Just throwing ideas out there

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
A swap of them still leaves me kind of thin. 14, 15, 29, and what, 38? Whatever my third is. At that point I'd probably want to change it to my fifth. This is all dependent on who drops to 14 anyhow, but the 14/15th picks are a prerequisite on a proposal from your team's draft position.

Ok I think you're getting something mixed up here. It'd essentially be 14, 15, and 29 for 5, 24, and whatever your 4th round pick would be. Looking at it now though, I'm not totally sure I wanna do it anymore, I'd lose a LOT of depth

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
That's an understandable concern. The lowest I'd really be willing to go for Bird's depth is 1st and 4th for 1st and 2nd while swapping our 5th rounders. (I think mine is higher than yours...could be wrong though.)

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
It is higher, but at that point I think the guys who I'd take at your pick have a really good chance at falling to me just because of how people would view them here. And your proposed deal would leave me with Bird and nothing else till 29 and 43. If you replaced your 4th pick with your 3rd, I'd be fine with making the swap later on, like round 7 or something.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
^^That's the nature of the high pick. Without any trades I would have Bird, 28, then 43 or whatever. The difference is you'd have that swap in the 5th. I do agree about your point of people possibly falling to you. It gets difficult to predict after about 12-15.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
I'm not sure Booz is coming back.
Like I said, consider revising it. If we get far ahead you risk having days between picks.
Any deal now is a major gamble. You don't know who is and isn't gonna drop.

I'll consider revising it, but not this round.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Its not really that big an issue now in the first round. Interest should still remain high. In the later rounds it could become a real problem though.
My issue is that I'm wondering if Booz has any intent on picking.
He said "I'm in" and hasn't followed up since.
Whats more, he's logged on since he's been up and neither checked in here nor saw my message. Its an awfully big lag and if this continues it could kill this thing.

Even though he has till his deadline to make his pick, come on first round shouldn't stall this bad. i mean i m sure everyone has their picks figured out by now who are after booz. This is why i suggested the time between the picks to be shorter for a quick drafting process

Damn, I was gone for six hours, and the only thing on my mind was how much I'd be letting some of the other GM's down if I was on the clock and not picking. But I come back and Booz hasn't even picked yet...

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Why not just give Booz the BPA? Then we can move on...pretty clear who the BPA is..

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Its up to the admin what he wants to do.
Is there anyone who would be interested in replacing him or partnering with him? One of the mods here?

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
^^for a three year peak, I absolutely do not think it's clear who BPA is.
That said, I'd say he's SOL and just give him whoever is highest on RGM's most recent All-time list. (presumably the dude the finals mvp is named after)

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
There are 2 players that are perfectly viable options, and I think EVERYONE knows who they are.
Is anyone who isn't in the draft interested in teaming up with him? If he comes back they can work together, and if not whoever comes in is effectively his replacement?
That is my proposed solution.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
Only two? I guess I'm thinking highly of a player. Or lowly of a player or two.

Re: All-Time Draft: Rosters and Trade Talks
I agree with you Piston, lets find a replacment *should not be hard, and then booz can team up with him or something. This is getting ridicules.
I think it is clear who the BPA is...er, or at least the easiest one to build a team around.

Well, I found some posts by Booz in regards to the top players of all time, and it seems like he'd want to select Bill Russell here, so, for now, that's what I'm going to do.

And did anyone happen to catch who vct selected before he edited his post? Because if it wasn't Russell, I suppose we can go ahead and make that choice, too.
