#326 NOH and NJN

NOH sends: Ryan Anderson($7,500,000) + Ramon Sessions($8,000,000) = $15,500,000

NHN sends: Andrea Bargnani($10,000,000) + Mario Chalmers($4,000,000) = $14,000,000

NOH accepts. Bargs isn't a star, but we were looking for more of a "go-to guy" for our young team. He's made strides on defense and to becoming more of a well rounded player, his biggest weakness(rebounding) will be masked by having Favors playing alongside with him. We get to save a little bit of salary as well.

Indiana sends:

Terrence Ross $1,134,500
Zaza Pachulia $5,248,750
Derek Fisher $3,400,000
2013 2nd (IND)

Total - $9,783,250 (*1.5 = $14,674,875 - deal works)

San Antonio Sends

Wilson Chandler - $14,100,000

Followed by:

Jeff Foster ($854,389) to Indy for nothing - works as Foster is a min.

Why for Indy? We need a Small Forward desperately. Wilson Chandler earns a lot, but I'd have to overpay to bring in a similar FA so its a good move for us.

Decided to part ways with Chandler. For a team starting over he makes a lot of money (a little more than he should). I'm very high on Ross.
Dammit...:

I've got Nurkic fever now.

Houston is bloodletting:

Boobie Gibson
Telfair
Ellington
Leslie
Raja Bell
Hakim Warrick
Sheldon Williams

all are free to pursue other interests. None are bought out, so the cap hits are kept.

New Jersey confirms. We needed the Stretch PF and Ryan Anderson is the master of that position. Bargs is more of a Center and would have created more issues on the defensive end. Sessions just continues to put up great numbers where ever he goes and gets no respect. Anyone notice he hitting over 40% on 3st this year. Unbelievable that Rambus could stifle this kid. Great deal both ways - Thanks for making this such an easy deal - Moss.

Houston signs LeBryan Nash and Fournier. Will post out details later, but they get the standard 120% rookie scale.

Houston will also cut Magnum Rolle, although it brings us much sadness.

Washington signs all 4 of our rookies (Anthony Davis, Thomas Robinson, Mike Moser, Tomas Satoransky) to the standard rookie scale consistent with their draft position.

Can I pick up one of the waived guys for the vet min? If so, I'd like to sign Ryan Gomes to the vet min.

Cleveland Cavaliers have released PF Chris Wilcox and have signed SG Manny Harris to a minimum contract.

If they are signed for more then the vet min, can I (or the appropriate waiver) assert the right of set off?

If another team signs a released player who had a guaranteed contract (as long as the player has cleared waivers -- see question number 56), the player's original team is allowed to reduce the amount of money it still owes the player (and lower their team salary) by a commensurate amount (this is called the right of set-off). This is true if the player signs with any professional team -- it doesn't even have to be an NBA team. The amount the original team gets to set off is limited to one-half the difference between the player's new salary and the minimum salary for a one-year veteran (if the player is a rookie, then the rookie minimum is used instead).

Does that apply to Gomes? He was on a min before.

Trade #327 NOH and LAC

NOH
PF/C Mareese Speights 4300000

LAC SF/PF Micheal Beasley 8000000

NOH is under the cap and can absorb the salary difference.
LAC Beasley is talented but LAC is close to the hard cap and needs to lose some salary.

New orleans accepts. Beasley has been playing more team ball under adelman and still shows flashes of being a dominant scorer, good rebounder. At 23 years old we still think he can blossom into a great sf/pf, at worst he will be a great 6th man.

#328 Minnesota and Orlando

Minnesota sends: Anthony Randolph($4,049,523) + Rodrigue Beaubois($2,227,333) = $6,276,856 X 1.5 = $9,415,284

Orlando sends: Nick Young($6,500,000) + Ben Wallace($854,389) = $7,354,389

Minnesota accepts. Don't like giving up my backup PG, but confident we can find one before the deadline. Like having Nick Young as my 6th man going forward.

confirmed. we maintain youth in the backup sg spot (in fact roddy can play combo). Roddy's supposedly the next tony parker and will replace jkidd...AR still has quite some upside (he's only 22!) and can play both pf/C spots. now my 2nd unit is andre miller/roddy/honeycutt/carl landry/AR

#329 Minnesota and San Antonio:

Minnesota sends: $1m in cash

San Antonio sends:
Earl Watson($854,389)

works since Watson is a min.

Minnesota accepts. Watson is a true PG who has played pretty well for the Jazz(almost 5 assists in only 21 minutes). Watson/Tinsley should be able to hold down the backup PG spot for the 10-15 minutes Rose needs to rest.
