#330 Indiana and Washington

Indiana Sends

Wilson Chandler - $14,100,000
Channing Frye - $6,000,000
Darius Johnson-Odom - $473,604
Total = $20,573,604

Kevin Seraphin - $1,797,600
Jameer Nelson - $8,600,000
Gerald Henderson $3,101,327
Total - $13,498,927

Washington is at $51,112,887 before (+ $20.5 - $13.5 = $58,187,564 after) so the deal works.

Why for Indy? Got slightly worried by the $70m payroll, this cuts some salary. And put Paul George back to SF :( (not that he can't play there, I just like the size mismatch). Henderson is a decent player stuck in Charlotte, and I love Seraphin's potential.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Wizards confirm. We felt the need to go out and find a SF to balance our lineup, and it so happens we were able to acquire one of our favorites. Wilson Chandler brings a lot to our team and will be able to grow with our exciting young core.

#331 - Indiana and San Antonio

Indiana Sends:

Rudy Fernandez - $3,500,000 / $3,640,000 / $3,780,000
Jeremy Evans - $2,000,000 / $2,000,000

San Antonio Sends:

Zaza Pachulia - $5,248,750

Works as salaries are almost identical.

Why for Indiana? As per my recent discussion post, I like both Evans and Fernandez, but both are completely surplus to requirements with Neal, Parker and Battier already covering the backup spots. Zaza is a decent 7/7 big plus I'm back to having a substantial amount of cap space next season.

Deal.
Cheap young low-risk players for an expiring.

Toronto out / NJ in:
Anderson Varejao - $7,700,000

NJ out / Toronto in:
Ryan Anderson - $7,500,000

Toronto accepts. We would like to have one player named Ryan Anderson Varejao, but since we can't, we'll take the guy who's six years younger and having a phenomenal season. Hate giving up AV's defense, though.

Minnesota sends: $1m in cash

San Antonio sends:
Earl Watson($854,389)

works since Watson is a min.

Minnesota accepts. Watson is a true PG who has played pretty well for the Jazz(almost 5 assists in only 21 minutes). Watson/Tinsley should be able to hold down the backup PG spot for the 10-15 minutes Rose needs to rest.

Deal.
I like Watson but he was not in our future plans.

NJ confirms - this deal made too much sense. Hell - we can even save the $200,000 on not having to sew a new name on the uniform! We love Splitter but felt an upgrade at the starting Center spot in AV was merited and fully expect that Tristan will continue to develop into the elite PF he is becoming. This was great value as we have a solid prospect in Plumlee to develop and can run a rotation of Tristan - Splitter - Anderson Varejo for most of the minutes with Ian Mahinmi to fiil the post and Plumlee / Jerebko to get spot time at the 4. I really like the added flexiblity this move makes. Goes without saying that Ryan Anderson was a tough move, but quality for quality and it balance both our rosters. Great dealing Sterncohen!

Portland Sends -
Samuel Dalembert $6,698,565
Steve Blake $2,500,000
9,198,565 x 1.5 = 13,797,848

Minnesota Sends -
Emeka Okafor ($13,490,000), ($14,487,500)

Thank you, I felt like I needed more of a power forward, and you needed more of a center. Win/Win.

Like okafor but he's a little overpaid. Dally is still a nice center and an expiring. Blake is a solid backup pg. Good dealling man.

#334:

San Antonio sends:
$10,561,982 - Jose Calderon

New Orleans sends:
$4,000,000 - Mario Chalmers
$2,947,800 - Al-Farouq Aminu
$2,445,480 - Cole Aldrich

$9,393,280 - Total

Deal.
Chalmers/Aminu fits my team going younger. Aldrich could be practically expiring if I decline his option.

I think with how my team was constructed I needed a true pg. Calderon is one of the best on the offensive end. Values the ball/solid shooter and smart vet.

Minnesota will waive Jamaal Tinsley, played well but have too many PG's.

San Antonio will waive Elton Brand to clear roster limit.

Yes we are aware we will still be paying him his $18M for this season but we aren't going anywhere so what the heck.

My last deal. Had to round out the team, and although I hated to move Harden..the appeal of a Gasol/Cousins frontcourt was too much to pass up. Richardson/Dudley/Terry on the wings provide elite spacing and Rubio will have no problem running the offense.

NJ and Chicago have a deal to announce:

New Jersey receives:
Danny Granger - $13,058,606
Lou Williams - $11,000,000
Vince Carter - $3,090,000
Rashard Lewis - $2,500,000
Total - $29,648,606 --> *150% = $44,572,909 and within 100% + $5.1m (*100% + $5m = $34,648,606)

Chicago receives:
Gerald Wallace - $18,000,000
Marcus Thornton - $7,525,000
Ramon Sessions - $8,000,000
Hasheem Thabeet - $854,389
Total - $34,379,389

Chicago accepts. We get our starting SG and justifiably get to take the heat for G. Wallace's huge contract. Sessions is awesome as a backup.

New Jersey accepts: Now that it was posted - I like the savings in salary - the upgrade(?) from Crash to Granger - I am happy with VCs last stand and JJ running the SG spot and Love the addition of Lou Williams to my Guard rotation with Kemba, JJ, VC and the emergence of Elliot Williams.
Rashad can contribute and becomes a nice mentor to young guys.

Quality deal at the deadline - Booya! Thank you Chicago.

No, I was completely kidding, I thought it was a joke trade. Man, why can't I be funny like HartfordWhalers :(

I do not have the authority to void trades anyway.
