Re: Future Draft Games
I like WS limit. Only issue is the number to use as the limit.

Yep, I'm always a fan of adding the and 1's to single season games.
After this game, I'd also like to run back the League of Nations draft. My screwed-up exception rule that resulted in Dirk and Nash not being picked has always stuck in my craw.
Do you mind running the League of Nations draft version 2.0 next? I want to commish and play the 2018-19 And 1 game but I won’t be able to do so until the following week (not this upcoming week). Please and thank you!

What's your plan? Just eliminate the and one or the one MVP limit?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

The exception will be allowed, but not for players who made All-NBA First Team more than once. So at the high end you're looking at players like Zo, Hill, Clyde, Reggie, Vince, Pierce, etc. - good enough to give your team a significant boost in tandem with the lower-end first rounders, but not enough to justify leaving MVPs on the table.

Re: Future Draft Games
How about an Indecision Draft? With each pick you make, you can also waive, or throw back into the pool, players picked in previous rounds and replace them with still available players? For example, I could pick Player A in round three, then when I come up in round four, I throw Player A back into the pool and then choose two players - one to replace Player A and my fourth round pick.
I'm not sure how much it would be utilized, though.

I think using this a set number of times could be fun. Ultimately it sounds best as a caveat in conjunction with another rule [perhaps the 4 teams per round draft]. That way if you get shafted in a round you can make up for it in a later round.

I like the idea but as you mentioned I'm not sure how much it comes into play. It might be used most to block other teams from having too good of a pairing/trio, which is fun, but would come at a risk of the person getting screwed having a dramatic meltdown
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Re: Future Draft Games
It's been a couple months since the last pairs draft so I'll throw a new idea out: Championship Team Pairs. You pick two teammates at a time from a team that won a championship that season (subject to the usual MVP/All-NBA First Team restriction).
Edit: Upon further review I would change it to Finals Team Pairs. Limiting it to championship teams doesn't leave many secondary stars after the first round.

I'd like to try a team-up draft of some kind (where two posters team-up and alternate picks) again. Those were fun. I remember me and Timmay had some good synergy

Re: Future Draft Games
The most satisfying drafts are the ones we can plan relatively from the beginning, as that way planning skill decides more of the outcome and it's less dependent on 'roll' (such as, what years are available)

Re: Future Draft Games
Looking at the field for 2018-19, this is the first time I'm not sure we need an exception. It's been a very good year for star talent - I count at least 20 players with strong cases for All-NBA, not to mention the curious case of AD who was possibly better than ever before the trade deadline shenanigans. The rookie class was also really strong.

Yeah eventually, give me some time. In the meantime feel free to vote in the championship game and rankings/roster for the other game!

Oh my bad. Legit didn't read that, I just really like always having a draft rolling so came to this thread with the intention of getting something started soon.Fadeaway_J wrote:ardee wrote:I'm down to run the 2019 And One game if no one else is.

I'm so dying to do the Dutch auction, just got little interest. Maybe people couldn't make the time frame?
