NEW GAME: BUILD-A-TEAM OLD SCHOOL STYLE (ON HOLD, READ)

CURRENTLY ON HOLD AS THERE ARE OTHER GAMES GOING ON

Couple of years ago, I don't remember who, but a member of this forum started a draft/GM-a-team game and this is how it was as far as I remember:

1. 12 Members - 12 teams - 15 players per squad

Top 15 current NBA teams will be chosen but each member will have the right to name their teams and the head coach.

2. Draft any player you want and select three consecutive years of that player that you think are/were the best of his career in terms of personal stats and league achievements (If the player won any championships, received MVP award or DOP and etc.)

For example - Michael Jordan (95-96, 96-97, 97-98) 2 MVP awards, 3 Finals MVP awards, 3 championships

3. Drafting order - this is where things get a little complicated but with proper management and organization, it can be a piece of cake. There will be 15 rounds (to be decided). Draft order will be different each round so it's fair for others to get 2-3 players of their choice at least.

For example - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12

So if team 1 is first in round 1, then they have the chance of getting MJ. So its only fair if team 12 gets 1st pick in the next draft or so. So for the first two rounds the format will be 1-12, 12-1, and then scrambled after that.

If i get positive responses by tonight and tomorrow then we shall get this game going by Tuesday at the latest. Also, if you are interested then sign up since its on first come first serve basis.

I'll consider it. Frankly, I want to see who's going to be participating and see some discussion on it.

I would assume you will use a random number generator to decide draft order.

I'll sit this one out if its gonna be a GM a Team along with the draft.

I don't really care for games heavy on trading.

Its not really GM-a-team. Its Build-a-Team by drafting ANY player. After the entire drafting process, we will have 4-5 days of trading and then playoffs

I think you should hold this out for a couple of weeks. ATM, we have 2005 Coast to Coast, the Fantasy Draft, plus GM a Team 10/11. You won't get the people if there are 3 games currently in progress.

Sure. Thats a good idea cz by the time those games are over, people will be committed to this game so yeah. Good idea! :)
