GM a TEAM 10/11 Rookie options and QO's

Guys you need to make a decission on rookie contract team options by the Friday midnight EST trade deadline. Basically you need to decide if you will be picking up the T.O. (making 2011/2012 guaranteed) or decining the T.O making the player a UFA with no bird rites.

The league will assume all rookie scale team options are being picked up unless it is posted in this thread before the midnight EST deadline on Friday 8/20.

Vet team options need to be decided on before the opening of Free Agency (date is not finalized yet), unless a specific date is stated in the real life contract.

Unguaranteed deals remain unguaranteed unless stated in the players contract. (Day 1 of free agency in this game is July 1st in real life contracts). We assume a week of this game equals a month in real life so if a player's real life contract becomes guaranteed in Aug, it will become guaranteed in this game a week into free agency.

Teams need to decide if they are offering players a Qualifying Offer (making them a RFA) also by the end of the draft. Please remember a QO and the actually cap hold are not the same. The cap hold for that player is most likely higher then the QO. A QO can be withdrawl to created more cap space, but that team loses all rites to the player when they dop that. Players may decide to accept the 1 year QO, if it is left on the table and they are not getting many offers so be warned that if you make the QO the player may accept the 1 year deal.

Cleveland is rescinding their qualifying offers to Mike Conley Jr and Marco Belinellie. I din't realize how large their cap-hold was, and after I trade I am about to complete both of them would be redundant on my roster.

Atlanta rescinds their QO to Brandan Wright.

We love his potential and raw ability, but his price his too high for someone with the injury problems that he unfortunately has. We ended up drafting his replacement with the 16th pick so there isn't as big of a need for him anymore.
