I would assume Shaq will opt out since he will get more money for sure.

Is there a max amount someone can offer a player, and if there is, what is it?

List seems a bit outdated doesn't it? Parker and Collison shouldn't be free agents, and I'm sure some of those others shouldn't be either.

^^Yeah, saw that. TMAC is helping me fix the list right now.

If your offer is invalid, it will be ignored. So make sure it works. Those of you who have sent e-mails saying "offer the max, whatever that is": figure out what it is yourself. As an agent, I would like the teams negotiating to my clients to give us concrete figures.

Tomorrow midnight everybody who was offered a contract will be signed. The next day will be for people who need to get their rosters between 12-15 people.

Why is Shaq opting out? He took the minimum to play with Boston. He could have got $5 million a year to play with Atlanta, but wanted to win. If this is like reality, 9/10 he's staying with the Celtics. The other 1/10 of the time he's retiring.

Unlike reality, this Celtics squad was not voted as the #1 team in the East.

I don't think Celtics were expected to be number 1 this season either. So for The Celtics being top 3, he decides to opt out because they didn't finish 1st? I don't mind him going into free agency. I just don't feel like the reasons he is in there are right.

say someone who is a highly wanted FA (say melo) and lots of teams offer him deals. only one will get him, so for the others can they make deals to other players? like could someone offer a deal to some other player and say "if i dont get melo this is my offer'? or if you make an offer and they dont accept, u dont get anyone. just curious because in the nba they have different times that players accept so if u didnt get the guy u wanted, u could still get talent above the min contract level.

I've re-sent my offers, this time clarifying in more detail the salaries I'm offering. I did have the total figure before, just not the precise yearly breakdown.

I am conscious I'm 5 hours ahead (UK time) so will not be able to respond to emails or counter offers between 8pm ET and 3 AM ET - Miller, I would appreciate if you can allow me the flexibility around that for negotiations etc.
