GM-A-TEAM MAY/JUNE '11 FREE AGENCY

Post#1 » by -Kees- » Thu May 19, 2011 2:10 am

Three types of FA's. The PO's and ETO's that opted out are UFA's, the ones that opted in are not FA's at all. The RFA's are restricted, so if you sign one of them, the team that they are on can match the offer and sign them. UFA's are unrestricted, so whoever signs them, gets them.

All FA's are listed alphabetically.

MLE is 5.8M$
BAE is 2M$ with a max of 2 years

Here are the FA signings. I will also send out a mass email.

If a players signs with you, they signed for the deal that you proposed to me in your email. Once a player signs with you, you can announce it on the FA thread, and post the details of the contract.

Min contract players have not been posted yet, so don't worry. If you need mins to finish your roster, talk to me before you sign them.

Teams with matching rights on players have 24 hours to match the deal on the RFA's.

Any questions, just ask me.

Why would David West opt out? He's at best going to be back around the Trade Deadline, no one is going to give him the multiyear, multi million deal he's going to be looking for. But I agree about Pietrus opting in.

Ok since theres been multiple people questioning the Pieturs deal, I've decided he opts in. Now that i think about it, he probably would out in.

Yeah but we're suppose to make it as real as possible. After a injury filled season, West isn't going to leave and get what he wants, even if one of our GM's will give him the money.

What??? I could've totally used Pietrus in a previous deal and not go through the hassle to attain an expiring! :-?

The Portland Trial Blazers use the Bi Level exception ($ 2,080,000) for Unrestricted Free Agent
Josh McRobers. Can we structure the deal - 3 yrs at $ 4 ($1.2, 1.35 & 1.45 M)? Does the commissioner approve?

Josh was drafted by the Blazers and was well liked. He seems to have caught up to the speed of the game which was too much in his rookie year. The Blazers also want to bring back Greg Oden's best friend to make sure he enjoys playing in Portland depending on the Q Offer - extension situation handled this summer.

OKC Thunder are delighted to announce the signing of Carl Landry to a 5 year deal.

Image

Terms are as follows:

$6,086,307
$6,573,211
$7,060,115
$7,547,019
$8,033,923
Total: $35,300,575

Carl was pleased to be joining a contender; where he will become starting Power Forward, alongside Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant. We feel he compliments Dwight's game perfectly, offering a versatile offensive game and hustle to the lineup.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Glen Davis have agreed to terms on a MLE contract. The terms are as followed:

Image

Year 1 - $5,800,000
Year 2 - $6,444,444
Year 3 - $7,160,493
Year 4 - $7,956,104
Year 5 - $8,840,116 (Team Option)

We could be overpaying here, but we really like what Davis brings to the table. Offensively he has really expanded his game and he will space the floor well for us from the 4 spot. Also an above average defender. Also it helps that he's only 25 and has been healthy for the most part.

The Golden State Warriors have come to terms on contracts with three players.

Caron Butler
Image

$8,000,000/$8,000,000/$8,000,000/$8,000,000/$8,000,000

We really like what Tuff Juice brings to our team. He can create his own offense and is above average defensively.

Samuel Dalembert
Image

$6,000,000/$6,000,000/$6,000,000/$6,000,000/$6,000,000

Again another defensive minded player. Dally had a good year and his defense, rebounding and shot blocking fit nicely beside Amare.

Aaron Brooks
Image

$4,000,000/$4,000,000/$4,000,000/$4,000,000/$4,000,000

Brooks has the ability to spread the floor for Wade and Amare and can share the playmaking duties with Wade.
