GM a TEAM 11/12 - Rankings
Ranking time is here!
Things to look for when ranking teams...
Present Improvement
Future Improvement
Now Title chances
Future Title chances
Draft Picks(includes 2012 picks as well as probable position of future picks not just sheer numbers)
Team Balance
Bench
Chemistry
Now Salary(is the team good enough for the salary should also be considered here)
Future Salary(see above)
Salary for city/owner
IF you feel so inclined use the above cats in 1-10 to help you figure out team rank.
Rank teams from 1-24(or how ever many actually did their write ups) in terms of who did the best overall job.
also
pick who you would feel will meet in the Finals this year and the winner.
same as above but for 5 years down the road.
Try and be as fair as possible and consider everything when ranking GMs and say at least a bit as to why you ranked each team where you did.

Firstly, thanks for running the game roc.
Secondly, apologies, I'm not gonna be able to do full rankings as I depart for holiday in 30 mins. I only have time for my top 2, which are:
1. Washington - CP3 & Dwight is a great duo. Wallace, Gibson etc a nice supporting cast. Contender this year and the next 5+. Best rebuild by far
2. Brroklyn - prob this years champ, set out to do exactly what the owner wants, and delivered. Only downside is that the window passes v quickly.

There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Re: GM a TEAM 11/12 - Rankings - 48 hours - GO!
1. ORL - This is a terrific job considering the circumstances. Dwight Howard was gonna leave, and almost every player on this team was overpaid. Managed to change this mess into a young trio of Deron Williams, Chris Bosh, and Andrew Bynum. Then you have Butler, Allen, Ariza on the wings, and I think this team is better than the old Magic team. Payroll is about average for a contending team, shouldn't be a concern. Also have two 1sts in 2013, which is a plus.
2. NJ - Terrific job in making a contending team. Really like the balance, experience and bench. What I don't like is how old the team is, but they get a pass I guess considering what NJ started with. The payroll is also higher than before, but this gets a pass as well considering the talent level of the team. Overall, thought they could have stayed a bit younger, but a great turnaround nonetheless.
3. PHX - Thought they did a great job of rebuilding considering what they started with. PHX is one of th hardest teams to work with. Basically a lot of If's on the team, but if Oden stays healthy, Mayo returns to his rookie year form, and Gilchrist/Miller live up to their potential, this could be a very dangerous team in the future. With a low payroll, and probably a top 5 pick in 2013, the future looks very bright.
4. UTA - Team has tons of potential. If Rubio, Beal, Favors, Teague, Burks reach their potential, this will be an extremely scary team in a few years. I think not having their 2013 1st can hurt, but with the amount of potential on this team, it might not even matter all that much. Brook Lopez is overpaid, but if he can be a career 20/8 Center, then it should be worth it.
5. DEN - Considering all of the FAs this team started with, I think this is a nice improvement. Lawson/Turner/McAdoo/Sullinger has tons of potential. I don't Anderson's contract, but he is a big that can space the floor, so he will help still. And the payroll isn't bad even with him. With their 2013 1st that should be top 5, this should be a scary team in a few years.
6. OKC - Rose is a much better fit with KD than Westbrook, and is the better player I think. Lee/Drummond > Ibaka/Perkins also. Drummond can become a superstar C. If this happens, this will be the best team in a long time. Plus the NOH 2014 1st could be good.
7. ATL - Not a huge improvement, but they are still in a better situation than before. They will struggle to score, but the old Hawks team did too. At least this team doesn't have Johnson's contract, has a true C, and got somewhat younger I think.
8. IND - I think this team is a lot more balanced, and I like Ellis over Granger as their best player. They have a very low future payroll, which is a huge plus for a team that is potentially one good player away from becoming very good. Also have GSW 2013 1st, which could be pretty good.
9. MIA - Is it a lot better than before? I don't know. The frontcourt is obviously better, which will help a lot. But I think Wade is still better than Billups/Matthews/Jackson. The Heat needed an interior presence like Bogut badly though, so I'll call this a plus. Plus they managed to keep the payroll low.
10. CHA - It's tough to have a team like Charlotte. But they landed the #1 pick and got Anthony Davis, who has star potential. Also I think Gortat > Biyombo, since personally I think Biyombo will bust. Payroll is low. This is a decent job considering what they started with.
11. MIL - The Bucks are one of the more difficult teams to work with, but managed to add Love and Lamb, which is solid for their future. Cut salary, kept all picks + added POR 2014 1st. So definitely not bad overall, just not ENOUGH of an improvement to get ranked higher.
12. PHI - Ibaka and Chandler is a big upgrade over what they had before, but a high payroll and minimal future picks is why I can't rank them higher. If they were legitimately contending, it'd be different. But they're still going to struggle to score once they get into the playoffs.
13. NYK - Westbrook/Noah is a defensive upgrade over Anthony/Stoudemire. Also have a very nice bench with Jefferson, Crawford, Haslem, which unfortunately will probably get overlooked by most. Team has nice balance I think. Also kept a decent payroll and kept all their future picks. But is it any improvement over what they had before? I don't think so, especially since they had great trade pieces to begin with.
14. NOH - The GM didn't start out with much of anything when he started, except for John Wall. Managed to make a team that can still make the playoffs + Rivers off the bench is solid I think. However, this team will really suffer once they start to decline, especially without their 2014 NOH 1st.
15. MIN - They got Wade, but have a very mediocre surrounding core around him. Unless they're really able to add talent in the future, this could be a team stuck in mediocrity for a long time, which is never good.
16. LAL - Personally I think Dirk is overrated. One championship doesn't make a player. So is this team better than the old Lakers team? I don't think so. And at least the old Lakers team had Bynum, who still had star potential. This team really doesn't have much potential going forward, and with a high payroll still.
17. SAS - Yeah they're potentially a young playoff team, but I think it's just a very bad mesh of players chemistry wise. The team will have very low bball IQ, which will cause them to struggle closing out games. Also with a very high payroll, they could be stuck in mediocrity for a while.
18. BOS - They are worse than before, but at least they have a deep team, which could keep them in the playoffs still.
19. SAC - Basically no improvement and increased their payroll, and that's never good for a team that's trying to rebuild.
20. DET - Overpaid players, minimal potential, lost their 2013 1st. Just a downgrade pretty much everywhere. Boozer and Stuckey are their best/most valuable players, not good.
21. CHI - This was a championship contending team, and it got worse. Rose is better than Kobe and about 12 years younger and a lot cheaper. Supporting cast got worse as well.
2012: MIA wins over OKC
2017: OKC - Rose, Harden, Durant, Drummond in their prime - too good.
2. NJ - Terrific job in making a contending team. Really like the balance, experience and bench. What I don't like is how old the team is, but they get a pass I guess considering what NJ started with. The payroll is also higher than before, but this gets a pass as well considering the talent level of the team. RANKINGS
1. Orlando - Put together an amazing team from Dwight and crap contracts.
2. Milwaukee - You made it here because of the crap this team had and where it was headed. The ship has been righted imho.
3. Washington - Paul and Dwight = Dynasty in the future if paul can stay on the floor. Draft picks are screwed though.
4. New York - Amare and Melo to Noah and Westbrook imho is 100% upgrade for the future...however NY wants star power and I think better names could have been obtained. Salary looks nice though and kept all your picks.
5. Philadelphia - upgraded the talent, gots LOADS of futre cap space. Not much in the way of draft picks to build with though.
6. Utah - well, upgrades all around for the most part, future looks good. His salaries are wrong though so my above points were wrong first time around.
7. Atlanta - this is based on what he did, through the whole 2 years. He built a competetitor and ripped it apart in one year. I dont like the team he has now but he played well and this is ranking how people played.
8. New Jersey - Will the nab a few titles before they fase into the sunset? I say maybe one this year and thats it? But you know what? You make fans in NY if you win and GMs are there to make money as well as build a team.
9. Sacramento - didnt do much, why so high? he kept Evans and cousins...he was never going to get fair value so even though little was done it was a good job for what he had.
10. Phoenix - I want to rank them higher i really do but just so many ???? that I have to drop them a bit. Excellent salary management.
11. New Orleans - well paul wasnt staying so u cant really include him on the team from the start. Took a team that really had nothing and made it a playoff team...maybe? Almost no draft picks.
12. Charlotte - well Jordan aint spending his money thats for sure...took a team thats gonna finish last next year and made them into a team thats still prob gonna finish last but with loads of salary room. Lots of picks for improvement.
13. Indiana - not a granger fan so glad to see him gone. The return was good, salary managemnt great.
14, Miami - well the best player in the world is Dwyane Wade.....you traded him
jk. Billiups is bring u down here cause hes not got long left and ......stephen jackson...Matthews should be starting. Decent return for Bosh and Wade but thats a lot to work with so cant pout you higher.
15. Oklahoma City - Sorry bro I really wanted to rank you higher...but okc had such a great team. Honeslty if you hada kept the same team i probbably would have put you first. Rose is great but a lot of the team are not playoff talent.
16. Denver - I do not see much there now, but the future is brighter with cap room and the few young guys.
17. Detroit - Currently upgraded talent. Downside is its still not going anywhere fast. Not much to work with here and the litte he did have is gone. And no picks
18. LA Lakers - Sorry but the team had a future without kobe for a few years....when dirk is done so is the team. Salarey managemnt decent though.
19. Boston - an older more unathletic boston with less talent?
20. Chicago - downgrading everything except Kobe......whos done in like 2 years?
21. Minnesota - hoesntly wanted to rank them higher just based on wade. But man he cant even get that to playoffs. Future is screwed.

RANKINGS

Re: GM a TEAM 11/12 - Rankings - 48 hours - GO!
1. Orlando. I bow at the altar of TMAC, who is in a different league from the rest of us in this game. Turning Dwight Howard and a pile of overpriced and not terribly good players into Deron Williams, Chris Bosh, Andrew Bynum, and a substantial supporting cast is amazing.
2. Washington. Chris Paul + Dwight Howard, and just enough talent on the rest of the roster to have a legitimate chance to win.
3. Philadelphia. Gallinari for Turner, Ibaka and Chandler for a weak front line, and very little of value given up - great job.
4. Utah. Excellent assemblage of young talent, and a fine job of getting value back for Utah's current roster.
5. Atlanta. Not perfect - the bench is very weak - but the front line of Horford and Marc Gasol is terrific, Vesely and Afflalo are a nice pair at the wing, and the problem of Joe Johnson's huge contract is solved.
6. Denver. Anybody's guess, of course, how well McAdoo and Sullinger turn out, but I think this team has a better chance to go deep in the playoffs within one to two years than Denver's current roster.
7. OKC. Adding Rose is a coup, and bringing in Dwight Howard would have made them #1. But as is the front line is a huge questionmark, and the bench is bad.
8. Miami. Effectively got Aldridge, Bogut, Matthews, Jackson, and Billups for Wade and Bosh. Billups may be done, but if Bogut is healthy I think this is a better team than what he started with.
9. New Jersey. Well, it will be an interesting team, that's for sure. And maybe all of these guys will still be playing at an All-Star level in two years. But when the 2013 playoffs start, Nash will be 39, Duncan 37, Ginobili and Pierce both over 35. Roll the clock back a few years and this could be the greatest team ever. Roll it forward ... I don't see them winning. And the crash that follows will be really, really ugly.
10. New Orleans. I don't think they win, but I have to give them credit for putting together a credible team, starting with a very rough situation in which it's hard to get fair value for Chris Paul and there's not much else there to work with. Unless Camby gets younger I think this is a slightly worse version of the 2011 Celtics, only older - but that's still an accomplishment.
11. Indiana. I'm not a Monta Ellis fan; still, Millsap and Ellis is a fine return for what he gave up, and makes this a much more balanced team.
12. Phoenix. Team questionmark. If Gilchrist is really good, and Quincy Miller is really good (and he's really a PF), and Oden gets healthy, really interesting. If only one of those three things happens, mediocrity. But at least there's a plan, and it would be much more fun to watch than the real Suns.
13. New York. Westbrook and Noah for Stoudemire and Anthony ... OK, I'll buy it, though it's close. The rest of the cast doesn't impress me, and the offense is going to be all Westbrook, all the time.
14. Milwaukee. I like replacing Bogut with Love a lot. But Andre Blatche as your long-term center, not so much. And I don't see enough talent improvement to make this team a contender.
15. San Antonio. Positive: turned a roster that's old and getting older into a much younger and more athletic team. Negative: with the exception of Rondo, this is the Low Basketball IQ All-Star team. Maybe you can survive having either Nick Young or Michael Beasley as a starting wing, but both...?
16. Lakers. Dirk and Nene is a wonderful combination - but is it better than Gasol, Bynum, and Odom? Enough better to make up for losing Kobe, and replacing him with a guy who can score but can't defend anybody?
17. Sacramento. Major moves here were hugely overpaying Samuel Dalembert and bringing in a broken-down Mike Miller as a starter. Don't see improvement.
18. Detroit. I'd rather build around Monroe and Knight than have Boozer and a bunch of below-average veterans.
19. Minnesota. Dwayne Wade and four guys who shouldn't be starters - not going to win, and going to have one very unhappy superstar.
20. Boston. Worse than the current Celtics, but not younger.
21. Chicago. Vastly better at one position (Kobe), vastly worse at 2 (a hugely overpaid Jason Thompson and Raymond Felton for Rose and Noah), on balance slightly worse at the last 2 (Chandler and Jefferson for Deng and Boozer), and a strong bench turned into a weak bench.
2. Washington. Chris Paul + Dwight Howard, and just enough talent on the rest of the roster to have a legitimate chance to win.
3. Philadelphia. Gallinari for Turner, Ibaka and Chandler for a weak front line, and very little of value given up - great job.

I think that you really needed to acquire a good center and move some of your volume players. Jenning, Love and Blatche all need the ball quite a bit to be effective. You drop in the rankings for two reasons: 1) no "go to" scorer but lots of decent 2nd and 3rd options, 2) Salaries are really high, and $30 million in expiring contracts doesn't go that far when you have $48 million guarenteed to four players, plus cap holds and a payday for Holliday and Ibaka. Still like some of the young pieces, and if salaries weren't an issue Philly would be one of the more attractive places for free agents.

In the whole scheme of things Detroit was quite a mess when this game started. They are still somewhat of a mess, but at the very least, Boozer is more moveable than the albatross contracts you started with. Sessions/Stuckey is a terrible shooting back court though, if you had been able to move one for someone to spread the floor your ranking would be a bit higher, though not much.

This was certainly a love-hate team the way it was built, and very interesting, but at this "point in time" I don't think you would have one player on your roster under 30, and Turiaf, Dooling and Delfino would be the only ones under 34.

I think this team got worse in every way possible (except shooting guard). Is it still a contender? Yes; but trading Rose, and then trading the guy you got for Rose, and then downgrading the supporting cast hurt you a lot in the rankings. If this were Charlotte, or Toronto I would have said "great job", but I think that with the roster you had you could have had much better return.

Re: GM a TEAM 11/12 - Rankings - 48 hours - GO!
1. ORL - TMAC, you've done it again! I think this team is years past the old one. Dwill/Bosh/Bynum together can definitely carry an offense, and the wings you brought in fit extremely well. Great job, especially considering you started with 2 of the top 10 worst contracts.
2. WAS - Paul/Dwight is great, and Wallace is the ultimate glue guy/3rd option. I also really like Gibson, Hamilton and Rush as role players.
3. UTA - Love the starting 5. I think Beal will turn into a great player, your front court is like the best raw front court that I can think of lol. Favors/Lopez is a match made in heaven, Batum is a great glue guy along with Rubio and a great bench, just a solid job all around.
4. OKC - Getting Dwight would've had you at #1, but you still have a great team. If Drummond can develop, I think you have a title contender for 5-7 years. There is much less D than before, but Rose/Lee on O should make that up.
5. PHX - I think you're relying to much on Oden, paid too much for Mayo and I'm worried about Miller playing PF. Haha I'm jk. I honestly think you did a very nice job here. I think your team has balance (Miller, Mayo, DJ on O, Gilchrest, Brewer, Oden on D) and it's great with the low payroll and youth.
6. ATL - This team might actually be better than the old team, plus it is younger and cheaper (no JJ). I think you're one move (Harris for youth) from becoming a top future team, but now your a young playoff team that should be in the hunt for the next 4-6 years.
7. CHA - I like the players on your team. I'm a bit disappointed you didn't play Henderson at all, as I think he's your best SG, but at least you still have him. Getting Davis is huge, although I'm not sure Gortat being a bit better than BB will outweigh the age difference. One more consolidation move (Cassipi+SG+PF for SF) could've helped you more.
8. NJ - Nash is a year away from retirement, Manu has said (this summer) he's only playing 2 more years, Duncan showed he can't keep up with an above average C (Gasol), and Pierce and Pau (after one more year of age) are near bad contracts considering Pierce is getting paid 14M and Pau 18M at ages 35 and 32. Reminds me of the current Celtics without Rondo/Green. I do like the balance, but very worried about the future.
9. IND - I like that last move
, it actually made you a lot younger and it helped you a lot. Could use a better starting PG, but I think Maynor will be there in a year or 2.
10. NYK - I like the new direction, I think this is a playoff team now with a higher ceiling later. I also like the fit, Westbrook with a bunch of shooters on O, Blair, Noah, Haslem on D. You had a lot to start with though, that's why you aren't higher.
11. MIL - I'm a Bucks fan myself, and I'd be happy if this is what we came to
. I'm not so sure about the Love/Blatche fit, but bringing Love in with Jennings, Lamb and Dudley is a plus.
12. MIA - Got better defensivly, but you still really only have 3 difference makers. The role players are better, which is a plus, but with Bogut being very injury prone, I would've liked to see him moved for a healthier option at C and upgrade at the guards.
13. DEN - Young, raw core you brought in. Not sure McAdoo/Sully will fit well, and I'm not sure a 28 year old, 8M per year C in AV is a good piece, but you should be set up for a high pick next year to further build your core.
14. MIN - Bringing Wade to any team is always a good thing, but I'm not sure if it was a great thing here. Building around Dwill/Love might've been a better option, and I see this team being like the 04-07 Lakers, a team built around the SG and nothing else.
15. PHI - Turner for Gallo was a good move, but I see 2 major concerns. 1. Post scoring is going to lack. Brand is a big part of the 76er offense, and having him playing backup minutes will hurt post scoring. Plus you lost the slashing Young, who scored quite a bit off the bench as well (13 PPG). 2. Lack of future picks. I don't think you can make it out of the 1st round for the next couple years, and also don't have that star potential player. You don't have your pick for a few years which will hurt as you won't be winning either.
16. SAS - Big personality issues kept your team back. Beasley/Rondo/Smoove/Young sounds like a nightmare, and who will play D on the 2nd line on the perimeter? Redick, Fernandez or Bayless?
17. NOH - Good fit, and would be a top team 3 years ago, but everyone accept TP on the starting 5 is out of their prime. Rivers is a nice piece, but I think keeping Wall would've been the best option.
18. CHI - Trading Rose was bad...but you still have a playoff team that is somewhat young. JT is way overpaid, but the fit is decent I guess. Higher payroll and trading the 22 year old MVP is what put you back.
19. BOS - Borderline playoff team. Got a bit younger, but not sure if Thornton/Kaman/Bargs is better than Rondo/Green, and the other stuff isn't as good as the big 3.
20. SAC - Higher payroll for not really any improvement. Miller doesn't really fit, but you did keep Cousins/Evans.
21. DET - Older, not as good and lost your 2013 pick. Also, no top 10 prospect from the '11 draft, which would've helped a lot. Overall downgrade.

Re: GM a TEAM 11/12 - Rankings - 48 hours - GO!
1. Magic - Somehow managed to put together a team that (in my eyes) is in position to win now -- without Dwight Howard + all the bad contracts?! Amazing job is an understatement.
2. Wizards - CP3 + D12 = Winning. A lot of people were scared of trading for either of those guys before free agency, but you went for it and ultimately won. You got some solid role players going forward too, a real nice job.
3. 76ers - You somehow managed to: clear out salary, add young talent, and add some nice veteran talents, all while improving your team in both the short and long term. I'm sold.
4. Bucks - Cleared out all the bad contracts and managed to snag some nice young players going forward (Lamb, Dudley and Love). Still a long ways to go, but given your financial flexibility going forward this team definitely has something to look forward to.
5. Heat - I think this is one of the better Miami Heat teams in the past few games. You built a dominant front court and surrounded this team with good bench and role players. Team salary might be a little high, but with a guy like LBJ on your team, money isn't an issue.
6. Nuggets - Solid rebuild. I worry about you not having that big man going forward, ask Dallas how hard it can be to find. Nonetheless 1-4 you are legit, and if even half of them live up to expectations you are in good hands.
7. Suns - Major props for uniting PHX's voodoo doctors with Greg Oden, we can pencil him in for finally living up to those Bill Russell expectations
. In all seriousness though, I like the young talent here and the flexibility going forward.
8. Bobcats - You have great financial flexibility going forward, some nice young pieces and a potential super star for the next decade in Anthony Davis -- what's not to like.
9. Nets - I'm not as sold on this team as others. Great short term gain, but long term you have no future. There's a reason why this team was easy to put together: You have old players everywhere. Also I know salary isn't an issue for your owner, but a team isn't even a guarantee to make it to the conference finals (I have them 4th in the East) won't make him happy with his investment.
10. Pacers -Millsap, Maynor and Ellis for Granger and Collison? I'll take that. Bench hasn't changed all that much either. Overall you improved your team and didn't butcher yourself financially going forward.
11. Hawks - You cleared out some salary and might have a more balanced five but I'm not sure the result changed all that much. The team looks like it's destined to be a 1st or 2nd round playoff exit for the next 5-6 years.
12. Hornets - CP3 was gone, but at least you put together a respectable team that has an outside chance of competing for a title this year. After that it could get ugly, but at least you got Austin Rivers to look forward to.
13. Timberwolves - Unlike others I think this team can be a playoff team, but this team being anything more than a first round exit depends on Biedrins.
14. Lakers - This team is built around Dirk, you have some nice role players (Martin, Deng and Nene) but after that you've got older players that I'm not sure fit. You payroll is also absurdly high and will only get higher next year with Martin and Collison on the market. Money hasn't been an issue for LA, but will it when you have the 5-6th best team in the league? You also killed your team's future by moving your one great young piece -- Bynum.
15. Knicks - You had two really great trade chips: Melo and Stat and you turned that into Russell Westbrook and Joakim Noah? Not bad I guess, but after that all you have is role players. Personally I think the last trade was a mistake.
16. Kings -A core of Reke and DMC will always have an absurd ceiling, but what did you really do to help them? Would rather see some young talented added, rather than aging role players.
17. Celtics - I think you took pretty big steps backwards short term for next to no steps forward long term. Salary situation isn't great either.
18. Spurs - You got younger, so that's good? However, you surrounded Rondo (a pretty high BBIQ guy imo) with: Young, Beasley, Smith and Jordan a recipe for a very sad Rondo. (picture post Perkins trade Rondo X 1000). Also your salary for this season along is ~86mil? That is absurd for a team like SA.
19. Bulls - You didn't get better short term or long term, all you did was add massive salary (not good for a Bulls team).
20. Pistons - PER doesn't give you the answer to everything, such as: how will this team defend front courts? Who is the number 1 option (assuming Boozer), but who is the 2nd? This team will struggle to score and defend, not a good combo.
2012: Washington (winner) vs OKC
2017: Phoenix

Re: GM a TEAM 11/12 - Rankings - 48 hours - GO!
I would penalize people more harshly than most for failing to keep up their rosters. It's not a legitimate strategy and screws up the game for everyone who tries to play by the rules. If your going to play - put in the time to let other know what you have and what you're doing. I am sure my rationale will not jive with many of the opinions of others, but here goes:
1) Philadelphia 76ers: I like the mix of Vets and youth and the long term salary plan ($30M Expiring). There is quality depth at every position and appears to be good chemistry.
2) Orlando Magic: Good Blend and Chemistry again, but have spent a lot of money. Orlando could probably absorb those salaries. Potential NBA Championship.
3) San Antonio Spurs: Great Team - too expensive. Writing JJ Redick in at a SF does not make him one and I appreciate the effort the Spurs did in keeping their board up to date. Good depth and talent at all positions. (it was nice that Rudy Fernandez finally showed up!)
4) Miami: Probably wins the next 3 championships. Would be higher if they had moved LeBron instead of D Wade - much more of a Champion mentality.
5) Milwaukee: Ended up with a nicely balanced teams, reasonable depth and had a realistic cap for the franchise.
6) WA Wizzards - Contender - Good starters and mix of young and old. I suspect G Wallace backs up the PF and Bill Walker gets more run a the SF, but this team would compete and a solid off season from where they were. Penalized for Gilbert Arenas.
7) Indiana: did not make many moves, but all had a purpose. Good Balanced Roster.
8) Phoenix: Great Oden Gamble - young pieces. It is going to take time to see if/how it works out. Nice back court - but will have to wait and see how potential evolves at the SF/PF and Center spots.
9) Utah Jazz: Great on Paper - but really, that much youth??? Brook Lopez provides the veteran leadership. - along with Batum. Interesting team to watch, but years & good luck away from being a contender.
10) LAL - Old and Outrageous salaray. Minimal Future prospects. Might win it all and buy a new championship team next year. Not very exciting.
11) GS Warriors: No solid direction in this game - Great Back court - thin front line. Good Cap room and they will continue to be interesting - built for Nellie Ball. Not really any different from what the Warriors real management does - Good Job.
12) Sacramento Kings: Did very little in 2 years of games. Called out the whole league for not recognizing the King's Awesomeness, but in the end has a full roster of some talent in all postions. Did not update his roster, did not know what his players contracts were worth (VC $5.5 M 3 years). In the end, better than most - but they are still the Sacramento Kings.
**** Mid term shout out to my own Detroit Pistons: I can't argue with those of you who would rather build around Greg Monroe and Brandon Knight, but my AIM was surprisingly devoid of Jonas Jerebko / RIP Hamilton offerings. I held Monroe until I could not get any more deals. But I do appreciate the estute opinions of my now having an older, less talented roster of "below average veterans". Since I did move such players as Chucky Atkins(37)RIP (33), Tayshaun (31) Ben Wallace (34) Tracy McGrady(35), etc and my starting line up went from and average age of 31.6yrs with a 14.83 PER to 26.4 with a 16.56 PER - I sort of feel there's an anti Detroit bias here. I will admit, my first offering in this game was to trade Detroit for Houston. But, Thanks for the careful consideration.
13) New York Knicks: I do like the supporting pieces, but Westbrook might be a mini Mello in his attitude. Blair and Hoah are solid, but I think with the money spent, this team is disappointing. You did have Mello & Stoudamier to start.
14) Atlanta: I love the team in the Salary Table, but the final roster is too old! The biggest plus for this Hawks squad is the improved team chemistry, but it came at the expense of some talented pieces.
15) Denver Nuggets: I enjoyed working with Kop in this game, but in the end I don't feel the love for his team. He started with excellent talent - young and RFA types that could have been retained. In the end, he does have good potential talentand was abel to eliminate a few character problems, but I am not sure that this team is better than it was. It is difficult trying to evaluate 2 years of unseen rookies.
16) The salary roster and lineup don't match up even in the fianl writeup, so it makes things difficult. This team has talent in most spots but it does not feel like the Celtic caliber lineup. With the money spent, I think Boston would have made a bigger splash.
17) New Jersey Nets: You spent How Much for a starting lineup who averages 34 years of age! I know it's a fantasy game with a crazy Russian Billionaire, but this is not a winner.
