GM a Team - We're bored edition - Trades

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Tue Aug 30, 2011 6:27 pm

Start Trading: August 31, 10PM EST

All trades must be numbered and math clearly worked out.

EX.

Trade 32
CJ Miles $3,700,000
FOR
Hakim Warrick $4,250,000

3.7 x 1.25 = 4.62 - Trade works.

Why Utah does it: We needed some more energy off the bench and I think Warrick is a perfect fit.

Trade #1

Cleveland and New York have a trade to announce.

Cleveland In: Chauncey Billups ($14,200,000), Ronny Turiaf ($4,630,000), Landry Fields ($473,604), Iman Shumpert ($1,343,300) = $20,962,172

New York In: Baron Davis ($13,950,000), Anderson Varejao ($7,700,000), Omri Casspi ($1,341,960), Christian Eyenga ($1,097,520), Joey Graham ($1,106,941) = $25,196,421

Why for CLE:
We upgrade Baron to Chauncey, get an expiring for Varejao and two young players in Fields and Shumpert.

Trade 2
Charlotte and Toronto have agreed to a trade.

Charlotte Sends: DJ Augustin $3,236,470, Tyrus Thomas $7,305,785
Toronto Sends: Amir Johnson $5,500,000, James Johnson $1,833,120

10 542 255 - 7 333 120 = 3 209 135

Toronto is under the cap by over $12 million, so salaries work.
The Raptors really like Augustin's fit with DeRozan and Thomas' fit with Bargnani in the second unit, we feel it makes us a much more balanced team than we were.

The knicks get much needed defence in the middle and a great young role player in Omri cassipi who can give a similar impact to what fields gave. nice dealin!

Charlotte accepts. We wanted to move Augustin to save money (we saved about 3M in this deal) and move him for a SF and PF, and we did both of those. Johnson is a great young, defensive SF, and Amir is Thomas but about 2M cheaper.

Trade 3
Charlotte & Houston Agree to Trade
The Charlotte Bobcats moved PF J D White to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Terrence Williams. Houston was looking to improve it's post presence and White offers a nice mid range game and rebounding. The Rockets give up on the T Will experience.

JD White - $2,001,167 to Houston - Terrence Williams - $ $2,369,040 - Salaries work.

Charlotte accepts. With the addition of James Johnson, and having Henderson, we had a very defensive wing rotation. Twill add a dimention to my wing roation that i didnt have before. Although i lose White (8.5/4.5 once traded to CHA), i think that Twill is a better fit for me.

4. New Jersey and Portland have agreed on a blockbuster

Deron Williams ($16,359,805) x 1.25 = $20,449,756

for

LaMarcus Aldridge ($12,372,000) and Wes Matthews ($6,135,160) = $18,507,160

NJ does this to get a stud PF and a great role-playing SG on great contracts. We were worried about losing Deron next year, so getting two core pieces locked into long term deals is nice.

Trade #5 GS and OKL

GS Trades
G Monta Ellis 11,000,000
For

OKL
2012 #1 pick Lotto Protected.
SG James Harden 4.600,000
C Cole Aldrich 2.460,000
James Vaden .788
Royal Ivey 1.288
Tot 9,136,000 x 1.25 = 11.420,000>11,000,000 Deal Works

The Oklahoma backcourt now gets ultra athletic. Westbrook has the size and skills to play the 2 and the Tunder adds another dangerous scorer who can fit this young roster. We feel with a better roster and less minutes Monta can be an explosive yet efficient player again as the number 3 option.

#6: CHA and PHX have a trade to announce:

TO PHX:
Boris Diaw ($9,000,000)

Total: 9,000,000

TO CHA:
Mickael Pietrus ($5,300,000)
Robin Lopez ($2,862,602)

Total: 8,162,602 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 10,303,253

Deal works.

Charlotte accepts. We save a bit of instant money (about 850,000) which is good, and also get a great prospect in Lopez. Lopez is a big 7'0 tall C that we need, because the only other future bigs on my team are 6'9. Pietrus is just a smaller exp, so I don't have to take on much long term salary.

PHX agrees. We get a starting PF, who played with Nash before and knows the Sun's system. It also allows Frye to return to the bench. It won't hurt our flexibility for the next season.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

GS accepts trade# 5. We give up some scoring, but Harden fits with Curry better than Ellis does.

Accept. We're rebuilding, and we think this is a good return for Bogut. Jordan has a chance to be a Tyson Chandler like player. Plus we save money and get a 1st rounder which we're hoping will be lotto.

Trade accepted. Wolves lose their franchise all-star big in Love and one year player Wes Johnson but getting an young up and coming SG bound to make some all-star games and one of the games top centers was something the Wolves couldn't pass up on. Gordon fills a hole at SG giving the Wolves another scoring threat while Bogut gives the Wolves size, offense, and much needed defense.

Trade #8

MIA sends:
Dwyane Wade ($15,691,000)
Udonis Haslem ($3,780,000)

SAC send:
Marcus Thornton ($4,000,000, 4 years S^T w/ ETO and PO the last two years, respectively)
Tyreke Evans ($4,151,640)
Demarcus Cousins ($3,627,720)
J.J. Hickson ($2,354,537)

Total<Wade + Haslem and SAC has plenty of cap space. Trade works! Good dealing, SAC We bolster up with great center in DMC and we know Evans/Thornton would replace Wade well with LBJ running the team.

We give up two great young pieces. With that said, the Blazers gain a top 2 point guard, top 15 player in the league. It's one thing to have potential, it's another to meet it. Deron is a player that makes all his teammates better. We are thrilled to have him join this young squad.

TRADE #9

Upon approval of trades 5 and 7, Golden State and LAC have a trade.

LAC in / GS out:
Stephen Curry - $3,117,120
Cole Aldrich - $2,286,000
Total salaries - $5,403,120

GS in / LAC out:
Kevin Love - $4,609,701
Eric Bledsoe - $1,596,360
Total salaries - $6,206,061

Golden State accepts. Never thought I'd trade Curry in this game, but Love is one of the few young players I like even better.

But yeah I accept. I give up a lot ofvalue I know that, but I want a superstar and I want to win now. Still have some cap space to fill out my roster.. Jimmer/Wade/Salmons/Thompsn/Dalembert

Trade 10#

DEN and HOU have a trade to announce.

DEN outgoing:
Andre Miller $7,807,728
Danilo Gallinari $4,190,182
Timofey Mozgov $3,343,896
Kenneth Faried $1,072,900
Jordan Hamilton $922,400
DEN 2012 1st (unprotected)
total: $17,337,106

HOU outgoing:
Kevin Martin - $11,519,840
Luis Scola - $8,591,793
Jonny Flynn - $3,414,720
total; $23,526,353

It works since I am comfortably under the cap.

Kevin Martin is a 24 ppg scorer who is still only 27 years old on a good contract. He makes up the scoring we lost when Melo left town. Scola is 18/8/3 on solid man defense, good offensive bigs are hard to find these days.
