GM a Team - We're Bored Edition - Rankings/Draft Thread
All that is needed is that you rank teams 1-29 in the order you think they would finish if a season were played (exclude your own team). I will tally the results and post here.
I had several volunteers to help with the draft, if you can help please repost in this thread.
All players on draftexpress.com for the 2012 mock draft, or on nbadraft.net are available.

Since I have so many picks as Utah I should help mainly with the 2nd rd since I have no second rounders. I would also suggest we do what we did last game and have a slotted time for each pick. A gm or the moderator will know when to check in to autopick etc. People can also have friends pick if the slotted time is odd hours.
eg #1 7pm est
#2 8pm est
etc
#3 can be done when at 8:01 If #2 is already done .If we get way ahead we can adjust.
That's what I will be doing, and it would be great if you could do the second round!
Is there someone not in the lottery that would perform it? (you can just use the ESPN lottery machine). I am assuming that I will be in the lottery, so it is a bit of a conflict of interests.

That would be great, thank you!
I've also made a small error with the rankings, please exclude your own team

No. You can trade during that period, plus many people have school and work so it doesn't work to go all the way through the day. I considered just having a day after the lottery for teams to make trades, and then have them email lists of who they wanted to pick and then I could perform the draft in one day (first and second round), but I think that the trades, at least for the first round, are pretty important. And, even if I had thirty minute blocks instead of hour long blocks in the first round we would still only get through 24 teams. I think it works best this way because then it leaves Saturday afternoon/evening and all of Sunday for the second round and then we can jump into free agency and finish the game quickly. If you have any suggestions, though, I would be very happy to hear them. In my mind, the faster this gets done, the better, and a 4 day draft sounds appropriate for our purposes.

I think once the first round is done we can free agency. There is usually less trading in the 2nd round so can go real fast plus people don't mind the autopick as much.

I dont think this is possible, i thought that the worst team was guarenteed a top 3 pick? Because otherwise they could slide to 14, which i know isnt right...

Is it possible to find out if NBADraftExpress or NBADraftNet will be used for the autopicking for draft slotting planning purposes.

Draftexpress. Also, you don't need to claim your picks, just make it when a pick you own is up (ex. if I own Detroit's 1st round pick I would say "Toronto owns Detroits 1st and uses it to select X player).

Kees, the worst team can slide only as far as #4, and that's what happened this time around.
