Re: GM A Team 02/03 Edition Game Faq Discussion, Timeline
Lux Tax: $60,000,000
Salary Cap: $50,000,000
Teams over the salary cap have the MLE and BE, teams under the cap can use their cap space to sign free agents or maneuver in trading. Remember cap holds for your own free agents and draft picks.
Trading Rules
We will still be using the 125% +/- 100k rule. Teams under the cap may add as much salary as they can, not using the 125% rule so long as the trade will not send them over the cap, otherwise they must abide by the 125% rule. When posting a trade you must post it with all math clearly worked out, especially if a team is under the cap. If a team is under the cap it is enough for me if you show the totals for each team and say: x team has more than $10 million in cap space and only takes on $6 million in extra salaries. I have posted a clear example in the trade thread; your format does not have to be exact, but all information must be there, as well as your reasoning for completing a trade. Players may be combined with other players in a sign and trade.
Trade veto requires 8 votes from other GM's a 12hr to revise deal or campaign plus a freeze of all players traded.
GM's with more than one team must conduct at least a 3 way deal if they are going to do a trade between both teams. To veto a self 3 way deal only requires 5 gms to veto.
Signing my own free agents?
You are allowed the usual 10.5% raises and may offer a maximum of 7 years.
Signing another team's free agents?
You are allowed 8% raises, may offer for a maximum of 6 years, and if you are over the salary cap and below the hard cap have an MLE of $5 million. BE 2 mil.
I want to sign a player for the max, what is it?
1-6 Year players: $10,000,000
7+13,000,000
Draft
A poll to rank teams will be conducted of playoff and lotto teams. A Lottery will be done using ESPN will then be conducted. Once order is done times will be slotted and appointed. Official draft eligibles is posted. Lists of desired players in order of preference can be sent to Commish. Other GMs can represent a drafting team.
If you miss your slotted draft time the highest drafted player from the official draft list will be your pick. EG if pick number two misses their appointed time Darko M will be the pick unless an advance preference list was sent in advance.

If you look at past history that is the norm.

I find it difficult to understand what picks did the teams had in this time. Do we all start with our own 1sts and 2nds, or is there a good way/place to find out who had who?

Although not conclusive due to mid-season trades, I think the easiest way is to look retrospectively at the draft (see Team Column):

There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Ok, thats for 2003. Then should we just assume we have all future picks?

By the end of the game perhaps.
But that's because draft threads and other things are added later on (which they will be in this game as well).
Too many threads. And honestly, the norm has always been excessive anyway.

If it's not any trouble, I think I'll actually take the heat now that I see where everyone went. Just didn't want to take anyone's preferences.

I do, but I'd happily let Cellar take them if he wants. I can take another second team.

Whoops. I was going off the roster OP. My bad.
I've always wanted to bury the heat. Now they can be bad enough to get all the first round picks. Which will then be released.

Are the 02/03 rosters early in the season or right after 02/03 going into 2003 off-season? I'm not sure if I should include Drew Gooden on the Magic or Mike Miller?
