Trade # 1 Detroit and Phoenix

Det
Big Ben 5.2
Richard Hamilton 2.2
Hubert Davis 2.6
Chucky Atkins 3.6
Total 13,600,000 X1.25=17,000,000>14,640,000 works

Phx
Shawn Marrion 2,265,000
Steph Marbury 12,375,000
Phx 2003 unprotected 1st
Total Salary 14,640,000

Detroit feels it needs to add offense to its core. We have big man depth. Plus the first in a deep drive is added value.
Confirmed. We add a 7/15 center with 3.2 blks and the Defensive Player of the Year! Wallace fits like a glove beside Amare. Hamilton is 20/4/3 on 44% FG, a great 2nd option on the perimeter that will take advantage of Wallace's bruising picks. We gladly accept.

Total: 15,750,000

TO POR:
Sam Cassell ($4,850,000)
Toni Kukoc ($8,822,182)

Total: 13,672,182 * 1.25 + 100,000 = 17,190,228

Deal works

POR accepts. Our biggest need this game was PG, and Cassell fills that. 20/6/4 this year, 20/7/3 next, and about 15/6/3 for 4 more years. I do have to take on Kukoc (owed 18M over 2 years), but he's a decent backup that provides some range.

Confirmed. Stoudemire and Daniels nets us some depth and youth at PG, plus we add a 2nd. This marks the end of a fantastic career in Milwaukee from Sam Cassell.

Anfernee Hardaway $12,375,000
Tom Gugliotta $10,892,000
Amare Stoudemire $1,767,120
Joe Johnson $1,729,560
2003 2nd
total: $26,763,680

MIN outgoing:
Kevin Garnett $25,200,000

We add a 23/13/6 and 1.4 stls and 1.6 blks monster. KG in this season and next is an MVP candidate (comes in 2nd this year to Duncan, and is MVP next season). His versatility on defense is legendary and he is a one team wrecking ball on offense. He can post up, has a nice jump shot and has an unreal 1st team for a big man. Our interior defense with Ben Wallace and Kevin Garnett...

Something about this Amare kid...

Minnesota accepts. With FA approaching and our team in cap space hell, we decided to roll the dice on two nice prospects and a little cap relief.

Bonzi Wells ($6,300,000)
Scottie Pippen ($19,727,524)
2004 POR 1st
2004 POR 2nd

Total: 27,123,244

Deal works.

POR accepts. The other piece we were looking for was a go-to-guy on the wing. Insert Vinsanity. Down year this year at 21/4/3/1/1, but later he gets to 25/6/5. We take on a crap load of long term salary, and take on Davis, who isn't much and is paid 12M, but Carter is worth it. Also clear log-jam at PF.

Toronto accepts. We like Z-Bo, who will be one of the better PF's in the game soon. Wells is a solid player and Pippen's expiring allows us to shed some salary for the next season. 2 future picks won't hurt us either.

The Bulls have the cap space to make this work.
I hate giving up Arenas but at this stage of his career he's a trigger-happy, low efficiency PG years away from a star. I also get rid of Fortson's contract and hopefully pick up a high first. As a Knicks fan, I'm surprised I traded for Curry, but at this stage of his career, he's still a high potential C who Dampier can possibly teach to rebound.
Confirmed. As of now Arenas is a good player. MIP in this year, good numbers as well (18/5/6). He peaks at 29/4/6 in a few years, a legit superstar. Happy to give my unprotected pick with a player that has this kind of upside. Fortson gives us depth up front.

Hubert Davis $2,687,500
total: $17,172,500

NYK outgoing:
Allan Houston $14,343,750
Kurt Thomas $4,903,750
NYK 2003 1st (lotto protected)
total: $19,247,500

Houston is a 23/3/3 guy in his prime, he is the perfect 2nd option to KG. He shot 40% from 3 and is better then any player KG has ever played with. Kurt Thomas is a good center, underrated in fact. 14/8 and 1.2 blocks he can defend and score with his mid range game. We are very sad to see Big Ben go but we had to add more pieces.

Confirm. Allan Houston is one of my favorite Knick players from my childhood, but I he is getting older and Ben Wallace is a young up and coming defensive stud. He's the very definition of NY Knick basketball. Bo outlaw is also a usuable role player

PHX outgoing:
Chucky Atkins $3,600,000
Richard Hamilton $2,681,783
total: $6,281,783

IND outgoing:
Jonathan Bender - $3,226,745
Ron Artest - $1,904,860
Jamaal Tinsley - $805,320
total: $5,936,925

Artest is a nasty defender who can provide muscle and grit to this team. He is DPY next season and he has a good offense game, 16/5/3 and 2.3 steals. Tinsley is 8/4/8, a great playmaker and a good defender.

Confirmed. Atkins and Tinsley are a wash production-wise and we feel like Rip Hamilton has a brighter future than Ron Artest. We loved the physicality and defense that Ron brought, but we love the versatility on both ends of the floor that comes with Rip. We like him as Reggie Miller's successor. Plus we get bailed out of Bender's contract, who seems to be a bust in Indy. Nice dealin', BI.

Lawrence Funderburke - $3,300,000
Total: 8,205,760

Minnesota will send:

Joe Smith: 4,991,800
Rasho Nesterovic - 2,436,813
Minn 2003 1st round pick - Lottery protected
Total: 6.927 x 1.25 = 8.9

Total rebuild in Minnesota. We've had our eye on this Gerald Wallace guy for a while...we think he can become a defensive stud.
Trade 10
Sacramento confirms this deal. While the prospect of Gerald Wallace is a tough loss - in 2002 this is a no brainer. The Kings needed to shore up their front court and both Joe Smith and Nesty bring their lunch pail and get that done. Obviously C Webb and Vlade can (did) battle everyone to the best record in the West and this allows them some down time without losing as much ground. The potential Pick is a bonus. Nice Dealing with MJAllday for a Rebuilding MN team and Contending Kings.

Trade Approved please update depth chart roster and salary. Thx for working out math.

PHX and LAL have a trade to announce (try not to veto this time...)

PHX outgoing:
Kevin Garnett $25,200,000

LAL outgoing:
Shaq O'Neal $23,000,000
Robert Horry $ 5,300,000
2003 1st (unprotected)

We've been after Shaq all game. 28/11/3 and 2.4 blocks is insane. He is a top 2 player this year and a true post presence, who of the best ever. He has good to great shooting around him, and a great 2nd option in Houston. Horry is a great role player. 7/6/3 and range to the 3 point line with good defense. An unprotected pick in a deep draft puts it over the edge for me.

Confirmed. As a 3-time defending champions we almost give up our chance to 4-peat but we got one of the most intense combo in KG-Kobe that would stay for 7-8 great years and have great window to win, KG is 23-13-6 this year and MVP in 04 and his prime years mesh perfectly with Kobeyitur
Freshman

Jason Richardson $ 2,607,360
Adonal Foyle $ 4,400,000
Bob Sura $ 5,639,999

Total: $12,647,359

Jason Richardson is a good young athletic player. He's a solid young player with pontential on a cheap contract. He helps me add more youth and talent to this team. Adonal Foyle is a solid role playing big man and he's an excellent shotblocker. Adonal Foyle and Ben Wallace will be dominant defensively.

It's tough to lose an exciting, fan favorite star player like Latrell Spreewell but I feel that this move is whats best for both the Knicks organization and for Spreewell.

This is trade #11

Stephon Marbury $12,275,0$0

We get back the 2nd best PG in the league, maybe 3rd in Marbury. All NBA 3rd team, 23/3/8 on 44%, and a decent defender. He is explosive and creates the best backcourt in the league to compliment Shaq.

Indiana and Phoenix have another trade to announce, involving some familiar faces.

Pacers out:
Austin Croshere - $6,960,000
Brad Miller - $4,800,000
Richard Hamilton - $2,681,783
= $14,441,783

Suns out:
Stephon Marbury - $12,275,000
Jake Tsakalidis - $877,680
= $13,152,680

Indiana was reluctant to part ways with two very good players in Brad Miller and Rip Hamilton, but Starbury is a bonafied superstar. We feel like he will thrive in Indiana rockin' the pick and roll with Jermaine O'Neal.
We needed a legit big man to put beside Shaq, and Miller is just that. 13/8/3, (14/10/4 next season), an excellent mid range game that compliments Shaq, good defense and rebounding, and exceptional passing. Hamilton gives us another shooter on the wings and will run the point for now.

Trade approved work out math, Udate rosters, depth chart and salary.

#16: LAC and POR have a trade to announce:

TO LAC:
Toni Kukoc ($8,822,182)

To POR:
Michael Olowokandi ($6,060,000)

Deal works as LAC has over 13M in cap.

*Both GMs understand that this deal may be canceled if someone takes the Clippers by tonight, but want to get it posted in the event that LAC remains with the current GM

POR accepts. Kukoc is a tough loss, really. 12/4/4 this year, 8/4/3 next. But the former #1 overall pick will bring some youth to my front court, which is needed very much. With Davis turning 34 soon, it'll be good to have a 27 year old to learn from him. I'm also confident that Michael can learn O from Sabonis, and D from Davis and hopefully turn out to be a better player.

Confirmed. A bust for an old Kukoc is an ok deal for me, also Kukoc still has two years left in him then his contract would be an off the table may be 04 off season we will make something happen

Trade Approved please do updates

Deavon George ($4,545,000)
Tracy Murray ($3,740,000)
2003 LAL 2nd

Total: 8,285,000

TO LAL:
Arvydas Sabonis ($6,850,000)
Qyntel Woods ($980,280)
2003 POR 1st

Total: 7,830,280

Money is close enough, deal works.

POR accepts. With the addition of Olowokandi, Sabonis wasn't needed. Glad I can send him somewhere where he will get some playing time. Murray is an EXP, so I don't lose too much flexibility. George is the real person we were after. He's a solid 7/4, 35% 3PT for the next 5 years. He also plays great D and is the perfect fit at SF for us, spreading the floor and playing hustle basketball.

Confirmed. I wanted a way in for 03 draft also a veteran C that would keep me in championship contenders, Sabonis in his last year still had 20.5 PER and can give me 20-25 great minutes a game, also he is the perfect C for Triangle, he is one of the greatest passing big the game has ever seen

Trade Approved please update.

DENVER & SACRAMENTO COME TO AGREEMENT

The Nuggets announced today that they have moved PF/C Marcus Camby ($6.75M) and their 1st round pick to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for PG Bobby Jackson ($2.7M) and Center Scot Pollard ($4.826). While the Nuggets hated to lose the defensive presence of Camby, they felt the emergence of rookie Nene Hilario along with Juann Howard, Chris Anderson and now Pollard would prove to be an outstanding front line on both ends of the court. Bobby Jackson is a 15 ppg post up PG that Denver deparately needs to help trigger their attack. Pollard has been a solid contributor for the Kings over the past 5 years.

Sacramento reports that moving Jackson, a real chemistry guy and leader was a difficult decision, but with Nesterovic a sought after Free Agent, the prospect of landing Marcus Camby was too good to pass up. They reluctantly accepted the deal only after Denver added a pick.

($6.75M x 1.25 = $8.43M> $7.526M - salaries work).

accepted. we desperately need a pg and clear up PT for juwan and nene to develop. pollard makes for a great backup!
