GM A Team 02/03 Draft 11/4 DRAFT COMPLETE

Post#1 » by Warriorfan » Tue Nov 1, 2011 7:53 pm

Draft Faq
anyone listed on this list is eligible to be drafted.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/NBA_2003.html

If you miss your slotted time autopick will pick the highest player actually drafted on the board. EG if you miss the 2nd Pick Darko will be chosen.

Please send to GM_A_Team@yahoo.com your picks in advance in case something like internet goes out.
Since you do not know how the draft will go a list of 20 or so in order may be helpful. A friend can make a selection for you. I will not accept an IM unless you have sent list of picks in advance.

I have San Antonio's 1st and LAC 2nd in New Jersey; my NJ 1st is owed to Miami.

And :( at dropping with Cleveland. 1. Wade 2. LeBron 3. Melo 4. Bosh (if I'm not about)
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

I am currently in mourning due to the Bucks getting worked in the rankings. #5 is the most painful spot to be in in this draft.

With the power of hindsite players like David West, Kendrick Perkins and Maurice Williams will jump up 30 slots. Someone who was not even drafted will go 14

There are enough quality players to have 1 really solid first round.

I say we have 1 round and let everyone else fall into FA.

Just a quick list:

Lebron James
Dwyane Wade
Carmelo Anthony
Chris Bosh
David West
Josh Howard
Kendrick Perkins
Chris Kaman
Maurice Williams
Kirk Hinrich
Leandro Barbosa
Marquis Daniels
TJ Ford
Boris Diaw
Nick Collison
Jose Calderon
Steve Blake
Mickael Pietrus
Luke Walton
Kyle Korver
Jason Kapono
Sasha Pavlovic
Keith Bogans
James Jones
Dahntay Jones
Zaza Pachulia
Travis Outlaw
Matt Bonner
Brian Cook
Darko Milicic
Carlos Delfino
Willie Green
Marcus Banks

Lack of time in recent days, but i sent you my list to your e-mail joebernabe@yahoo.com. I would send it on GM_A_Team@yahoo.com, but G-Mail doesn't open for me. Just saying, in order, not to get Darko. :D

Just so there's no confusion, and since I have the day off tomorrow so my activity is incredibly limited:

Lebron James
Dwayne Wade

If anyone tries to give me Darko, you'll be getting banned.

I agree with MJallday that we have a one round draft - BUT I WOULD ALSO ADD ATLANTA, UTAH AND HOUSTON TO THE DRAFT. That puts another bunch of top caliber players into the 1 round and the rest can be added to FA - all expiring contracts can be extended for 1 year for the draft and all UFA for the FA period. If you like it send it to the commish.

TO BE CLEAR - I am saying just add those teams full roster of players to the draft - the fact that their draft picks are elsewhere (or will be excluded on the draft order - no GM) is irrelevant. Just a bigger draft pool for the other GMs and more good player in the game.

The why not is simple: picks have been traded and now you're giving a LOT more value to mid-round picks.

I wouldn't do that. I'd just toss them in the FA pool if you had to.

I really liked that idea to add them to the draft pool I think we should vote it

True, FA pool is another perhaps better option.

So if you tanked in the season and played for a bad team with cap space you get double rewarded by not having to share the good players from the 3 teams added to the draft with people who have higher pick (spead the wealth more evenly). This way - you have your picks from taking and cap room to get the new elite free agents as well. I Definitely think putting them in the Draft is the fairer distribution of these players and would enhance trading among all teams, not the select "tankers".

since this would be a big move in the game id take this to discussion thread. I would be against it even though I would be one of the biggest beneficiaries with 5 picks and over 30 mil in cap space

Sunday apparently. I think tonight would be better for the game. We can have FA knocked out by sunday.

Sunday is too far away and it would be my day to relax, eat, and watch football.

We should start the draft tonight at like 8 EST

My thoughts exactly. Top 4 picks are pretty easy to predict
