quicky here are my thoughts...
roster updates are needed and trades will not be approved if this is not updated on a regular basis, if you will be out of contact, please post so people don't think you left the game.
PLEASE respond to all offers, even if they are poor, a simple "No" is all you need to say
If teams go MIA without saying they are no around, or if roster goes a few days post trade without being updated, that team will be replaced, either with a new GM, an existing GM taking a 2nd team, or the league "myself" taking over
We will be using the new CBA for all trade rules and contracts, if something is proven to be agaist the CBA it will be voided
Timeline:
Still not set in stone, but this is what I'm thinking. We will start as soon as we have enough people to start, so I won't post a finite start date.

Salary Cap:
60M - Soft Cap
75M - Lux Tax
90M - Hard Cap
Amnesty:
Amnesty will only be able to be used during the draft. Any team that has not used it in NBA this year is eligible to use it during this time. Teams can only use it on players that had a contract when the CBA was signed, and has not been traded. The Amnesty completely takes the players contract off of your salary cap.
Trading:
Approvals will be approved, and posted in an “Approved Trades Thread”, almost all legal trades will be approved.
Trading picks:
Unlike the NBA we allow picks to be traded in back to back years. If you place protection on the pick, the full protection MUST be listed, or it will be unprotected the following season
Under Lux Tax:
Teams can acquire up to the lesser of 150 percent plus $100,000, or 100 percent plus $5 million of the salaries they trade away.
Over Lux Tax:
Teams can acquire no more than 125 percent plus $100,000 of the salaries they trade away.
Special Cases:
Real life extensions and options are used for this game (ex: CP decining FA, Love, Westbrook and others signing extensions)
Kenyon Martin – signed with Clippers
Wilson Chandler, JR Smith, Aaron Brooks - Overseas, no Bird Rights, UFA in 2012
Jeff Green – will be a UFA in 2012, but Boston has his Bird Rights, can only be traded as a S&T in free Agency since he is not under contract
Buyouts/Trading Money:
This was need, and will stay
IT MUST BE LISTED ON YOUR ROSTER PAGE, OR WE WILL ASSUME YOU HAVE NONE AT ALL TO USE (even star up cash)
Each team can trade cash as part of trades. There are limits:
Every team starts with 7M
Max amount of cash you can get/trade in one deal: 3M
You can never be a negative
All buyouts must be cleared with me. You can buy a player out by requesting one (send me an email) and using your cash to pay the player now, and have him come off the salary cap. Since this money gets taken off payroll (unlike real life) you gotta pay a little extra to buy out the guy. We will only use round numbers (by the mil) If the player makes 2,300,000, you need to pay him $3mil to buy him out. Min contracts will cost you $1mil to erase. If the player has a buyout or partial guarantee, you need to pay the ENTIRE salary to clear the partial money, or just waive the player and take the smaller cap hit
Money, if part of a trade, does not count for incoming/outgoing, it is separate.

Trading Free Agents
Tier 1 FAs (Dwight and DWill) will not be able to be traded if they sign with a new team, if they resign with the team that had them at end of 2012 season, they will be allowed to be traded 7 days after signing is posted. If they “jump ship” and choose a better situation, they stay with that team the rest of the game.
RFAs: most have signed extensions in real life which will be used in this game, teams that have a RFA will be allowed to extend them prior to FA, but some may decide to test the market since the payday will be available in this type of game.
RFA Offer Sheets need to be matched or a S&T worked out between only those 2 teams within 12 hours of the offer sheet being posted
If the RFA signs an offer sheet, and it gets matched, that player can not be traded for 7 days after “offer matched” is posted. If the player is not matched, he still can not be traded for 7 days from the offer sheet being posted
Resigning your own RFA would make him allowed to be traded at any time
More to come………………
