ok, this is a work in progress,
I hope to get a list of available plyers for now, but this is a list for the FAs this summer. Let me know if anyone is missed or on this that should not be. I will be reworking it, but figured input from you on who is missing would help.

Lou Williams isn't a FA this season, he doesn't have a player option for next year.

Do you want input on who is likely to opt out?

Sounds good, I'm sure whatever you pick will be perfect. This place seems like it might have a slightly different economy then the NBA in general, so even if a player might not opt out in the real nba they might be expected to here.

One small thing, and I didn't know the best place for it so figured I would put it here:
Jeff Green – will be a UFA in 2012, but Boston has his Bird Rights, can only be traded as a S&T in free Agency since he is not under contract
While Boston has his Bird Rights still, they shouldn't be able to be S&T'ed him with the new CBA in an addition that cuts down the use of shenanigans like resigning Keith Van Horn for trades.
Larry Coon wrote:But with the new CBA, sign-and-trade deals are no longer allowed once the season starts. Also, the player now has to have finished the MOST RECENT season with the team — so even if Smith goes unsigned for the remainder of the season, the Nuggets can’t sign-and-trade him.

Re: GMAT: March Madness Edition : 2012 FA lists
On Free Agency my half cent
I think all the RFA should go to he highest bidder since it is their first contract. That can be a week of open bidding on the thread. Designated agents can break a tie and choose a destination.
Other younger free agents like Wilson Chandler, Nick Young, Hawes would be out for the money as well so that could be open bidding.
Older Premeire guys like Nash, KG Duncan should have multiple criteria for signing posted before free agency. Contender, West Coast, Return Home, Money Coach, Style of play. Nash, Grant and Stockton were not ring chasers. Payton and Malone were. Guys like Kidd,Hill, Duncan would play for the mini MLE while KG TMAC who may have more in the tank would sign with good team for more money.
On the option players I think the Jameers and Mo Williams might opt out due to the best FA guards Rose Westbrook CP3 are off the market so they might do better now in the open market.

Re: GMAT: March Madness Edition : 2012 FA lists
Hart, on the Jeff Green S&T, yes he can't be delt during the season, but Boston does still have his rites in the offseason, and during FA period can S&T him (I am pretty sure that is correct)
WF: sort of agrre with most your points
- location does help when offers are close but if a EC guy gets offered a few mill more to play on a winner on the WC, he will take that deal
- vets like KG, TD, Hill: i agree they may take less money to play on a ligit contender then they would to play on a rebuilding team, but it is doubtful they do that for les then the MLE, but it depends on the offers i guess
- and as far ar ETOs, I really dont want to discuss till the time comes, and I dont want it to be a public arguing point. I gladly will listen to all opinions when the time comes, but it will be via email, not on the board

I am not 100% positive, but I think the signing a contract overseas did something to the "bird rites", again not positive but I believe that is why those guys dont have the same "rites" that someone like Grreen does. But I would love for someone to find out for sure

Re: GMAT: March Madness Edition : 2012 FA lists
I already posted in the CBA forum to see if someone there could confirm (or deny it).
Should I keep being a wet blanket and suggest that you can't really trade mid season signings (ai)? Nope. I think its hysterical after waiting 2 months to catch on anywhere he then gets traded a day and maybe wihout even playing a game later.

Re: GMAT: March Madness Edition : 2012 FA lists
lol, ya min signings then being traded is just a way to stay within limits and stuff.
we will try to use some sort of restrictions on true FA signings once we get to the "offseason" which has been an issue in the past, we will see how that works

Re: GMAT: March Madness Edition : 2012 FA lists
I think no-trade clauses could work for the old FA vets like KG/Ray/Duncan/etc.
It wouldn't be fair if a contending team got one of them on the cheap, and then traded his ass away to a rebuilding team for value, for example.

i cant/wont change rules midgame. I did put some restrictions, hopefully they work and people will buy into the idea. baby steps, lol
all rules have been listed in the opening thread (I believe)
CBA rulings are different then in game made up rules which the no trade would be
