Gm a team - 2 offseason - ROSTERS

GMAT: March Madness Edition: ROSTER PAGE

Postby SamBone on Thu Feb 09, 2012 12:38 pm
roster updates are needed and trades will not be approved if this is not updated on a regular basis, if you will be out of contact, please post so people don't think you left the game.

PLEASE respond to all offers, even if they are poor, a simple "No" is all you need to say

If teams go MIA without saying they are no around, or if roster goes a few days post trade without being updated, that team will be replaced, either with a new GM, an existing GM taking a 2nd team, or the league "myself" taking over

We will be using the new CBA for all trade rules and contracts, if something is proven to be agaist the CBA it will be voided

Basic timeline will be:

April 1st - Rosters posted for beginning of 2012 offseason(draft / free agency)
April 2nd - Draft Lottery / Beginning of Draft.
April 3rd - Player options / team options will have to be decided on.
April 5th(or once draft is over) - Free agency will start
April 12th - 2013 Regular season will start(teams must be within roster limits, rookies signed)
May 3rd - Trade Deadline is midnight EST
May 5th - Rosters updated for draft / free agency
May 6th - Draft lottery / Beginning of Draft ---Only will do the 1st round since 2013 Draft is still an unknown.
May 7th - Player / Team options decided on.
May 9th - 2013 Free agnency will start
May 16th - Regular season will start(teams must be within roster limits, rookies signed).
May 30th - Trade deadline is MIDNIGHT EST.
June 1st - Final rosters updated / writeups done
June 2nd - Rankings sent in
June 4th - Winners announced

Timeline isn't set it stone, just a basic outline.

Salary Cap:

60M - Soft Cap
75M - Lux Tax
100M - Hard Cap

Amnesty:

Amnesty will not be available until around draft time (written in schedule). Any team that has not used it this year in eligible to use it next year. Teams can only use it on players that had a contract when the CBA was signed. The Amnesty completely takes the players contract off of your salary cap.

Free Agency:

Under Cap:

Sign players with whatever cap you have.

Under Lux Tax:

Teams get a MLE (up to four-year deals starting at $5 million in the first two years, with the starting point increasing by 3 percent in subsequent years (four years, 20.5 million will be the maximum contract allowed to be offered)). Teams also get a BAE at 2M per year, max of 2 years. They get this every other year.

Over Lux Tax:

Teams get a Mini MLE (at most three years starting at $3 million in the first two years, with the starting point increasing 3 percent in subsequent years (three years, 9.1 million is the maximum contract allowed).

People can find salaries at http://www.shamsports.com (this is the official site)
Also look at http://www.nba.com for rosters, http://storytellerscontracts.com/ or http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries.htm for the blanks. Also http://www.sportscity.com/NBA-Salaries/ has some.

Guys like Wilson Chandler's contract aren't listed yet, but should be soon, if there's a trade with him and he doesn't have a contract listed yet, we will figure something out.

Buyouts/Trading Money:
This was cool, and will stay

IT MUST BE LISTED ON YOUR ROSTER PAGE, OR WE WILL ASSUME YOU HAVE NONE AT ALL TO USE (even star up cash)

Each team can trade cash as part of trades. There are limits:

Every team starts with 7M
Max amount of cash you can get/trade in one deal: 3M
You can never be a negative

All buyouts must be cleared with me. You can buy a player out by requesting one (send me an email) and using your cash to pay the player now, and have him come off the salary cap. Since this money gets taken off payroll (unlike real life) you gotta pay a little extra to buy out the guy. We will only use round numbers (by the mil) If the player makes 2,300,000, you need to pay him $3mil to buy him out. Min contracts will cost you $1mil to erase. If the player has a buyout or partial guarantee, you need to pay the ENTIRE salary to clear the partial money, or just waive the player and take the smaller cap hit.

$3,000,000

Direction: Rebuilding, but hoping to add young players that have already shown promise. I want a team with players that fit together well, emphasizes good defense and ball movement. I think we're doing pretty good at that so far. Need to consolidate some talent and prospects.

Most likely not worth your time: Klay Thompson, Gordon Hayward, Kenneth Faried, Donatus Motiejunas
Would take a lot: Greg Oden, Danny Green, Jeremy Lin
OTB: Jamaal Crawford, Stephan Jackson, Tyler Hansbrough

Breakdown:
Aldridge, LaMarcus: Best player on the team. Top PF. Not available.
Babbitt, Luke: Finally doing what he was brought here to be. Shooting 48% from 3.
Felton, Raymond: Wouldn't mind keeping him for another year, but available.
Garcia, Francisco: I like the guy but he's nothing more than a large expiring, available.
Gortat, Marcin: He's a perfect fit next to LMA. Not available unless getting a Center upgrade.
Hickson, J.J.: Beasting either playing next to or for LMA. Great backup, probably not available.
Jones, Terrence: Portland native. Just came off a national title, but available.
Leonard, Kawhi: Love his play-style. Nice all-around game, most likely not available.
Marshall, Kendall: Possibly the best PG in the draft, not available unless a clear upgrade.
Maxiell, Jason: Nothing but a $5m expiring. Available for another expiring.
Milicic, Darko: Will be bought-out, but if you want him he's available.
Mills, Patty: Same as Aaron Brooks.
Ross, Terrence: Another Portland native. Crazy athleticism and all-around player, but available.
Telfair, Sebastian: Like him, but isn't needed. Can be had for as little as 500k cash.
Zeller, Tyler: Dominated in college, a worthy cheap young backup, probably not available.
